It has been less than five minutes, and so much has changed. Javier and Sadie are mates. She's thankfully still pregnant, though I almost took their baby from them. And Javier is clueless about all of it. I understand Sadie's reasons for what happened now, and I hate myself for the part I played in it. I'm her villain in this story.
I don't know what to think about that, or what to do.
Audrey starts to stir. "Oh good," Sadie says. "I didn't want to have to leave you here Audrey. I certainly wasn't going to carry you."
"Liar," Audrey groans. "You can't carry me because you're wounded and you won't leave me behind. You love me."
Sadie stands up and dusts off her hands while Audrey pins me with a glare. "Well, either way, I need to go find Javier and make sure he's safe."
"What were those things?" I ask, much to Audrey's dismay.
