TWO deaths in less than a month. Our pack was losing its sense of unity as both deaths are yet to be brought to justice. My Delta dying was another straw for the pack members to feel uneasy. They all know who killed him and I was angry that I couldn’t hold that person accountable for what she did. Luna Ana was able to leave Dark Mountains the same day Charles died.

Alpha Nathaniel made a compromise between our two packs; an eye for an eye, indeed. His brother’s life in exchange for Charles’. It made me angry, but I know it was for the better. We both knew if there would be war between Gray Seas and Dark Mountains, my pack would lose.

I looked up when I heard a knock on my office door. Tara entered, wearing a somber face. The aura around her was so sad, I could feel my heart clenching as I could feel her emotions.

“She's here, Connor,” she said and took a step to the side.
