Bad luck

Diamond rushed into the school hallway, trying to get to class as soon as possible, but stopped on her way when she saw Eloise shoving her books inside her locker

"Eloise!" Diamond called out as she rushed over to her.

Eloise has been her only friend since she got into the school three years ago.

"Diamond." Eloise squealed pulling her into a hug.

"Why are you outside? Has Mr Idris class commerce? Did he kick you out?" Diamond asked all in one breath as she broke from the hug almost immediately, her heart burning with fear.

Even when every student loves and admires Mr Idris, Diamond dreads him.

"Hey! Calm down. It would have commerced if he was around" Eloise said shutting her locker

"Huh? He is not around?"

"No, he is a bit sick" Eloise said and a "Thank God" unconsciously left Diamond's mouth

"What?"

"Errr.... Nothing. I meant to say too bad" Diamond said, earning a suspicious look from Eloise.

"Do you wanna go to the canteen since we are free from now till the next class?"

"I don't have money"

"I will pay"

"Okay then" Diamond said with a small smile.

Draven sat in his personal living room, drinking and muttering angry words to himself. He was so close to taking Xander out.

The door opened and Zavier walked in

"What is it?" Draven asked angrily

"Sorry to bother you but I can't seem to find Xander, have you by any chance seen..."

"No!" He cut Zavier off abruptly

"Where could he be then? His phones are here, but he's no where to...."

"Zavier!"

"Sorry. I will be heading out now." Zavier said and walked out.

"Being inquisitive huh?" Draven chuckled

"I'm taking you out next." He smirk.

"Stop rushing the food." Eloise frowned seeing the way Diamond was digging into her food.

"Sorry." Diamond mumbled raising her up a little. She was really hungry.

"Did you even eat at home at all?" Eloise asked and Diamond shook her head

"You didn't cook?"

"I didn't say I didn't cook, I said I didn't eat."

"Those people are really wicked" Eloise scoffed.

"Liam is coming, Liam is coming." Eloise said in a hush."

"Huh? What did you say?" Diamond arched her brows not getting what she said clearly.

"Liam is...." Eloise paused when Liam got to where they were with Louella standing beside him, both of them holding a tray of food

"Liam is what?" Diamond asked frustratedly when Eloise wasn't saying anything

"Why are you so curious to know what Liam is?" Liam asked and Diamond quickly raised up her head and took it down almost immediately when she saw him.

"Why is it so obvious that you girls have been talking about me?" He asked and Diamond just itch her nape feeling so nervous already. She could feel goosebumps all over.

"We weren't" Eloise said

"Please can we sit here? All the tables are filled?" Liam asked.

"Sure" Diamond said trying to hide the small smile that was beginning to form on her face.

"Liam I can't sit on the same table with this girl, I don't want to have bad luck" Louella said and Diamond's head dropped in embarrassment. She has been tamed as miss bad luck as things doesn't always seem to go smoothly for her.

"Not again" she thought as most of the students in the canteen were already staring at her with some of them giggling

"Since I've been sitting with her for the past three years why haven't I had bad luck? What a low IQ you've got" Eloise scoffed

"The fact that you're insensitive doesn't mean that we are the same" Louella rolled her eyes at Eloise

"Ella we have to sit with them unless you want to go to the class and eat there" Liam said.

"That would be better than sitting with a bag of bad luck"

"What!" Eloise turned to her with an angry look.

Diamond burst into tears, took her bag and ran out of canteen not being able to stand the insults anymore. This very stubborn girl can get very emotional.

Eloise picked up her bag angrily and walked out of the canteen after glaring hard at Louella.

"Are you happy now that you got them out of the table?" Liam asked a bit disappointed

"I still can't sit here, it's already contaminated" Louella said and walked out of the canteen with her food

"Assssh...!" Liam cursed under his breath as he sat on one of the chairs.

Diamond ran out of the school in embarrassment. It was too much for her to take in all at once.

A bag of bad luck? That was definitely out of line.

"How can I be so unfortunate?" She cried out as she ran all the way home.

The awkward stares she was getting from the people on the streets was making things more difficult for her.

"It has happened again."

"Do you know her?"

"Yeah, she's my classmate. I'm sure she has done something wrong again that's why she crying home. She's wrapped up in bad luck."

"How unfortunate!"

She cried more hearing the murmurs of some of the persons she ran past. She didn't even bother to turn to see their faces.

"I am never going to that school again" she thought bitterly.

She got home in no time due to how fast she ran and wasted no time in going into the living room

"Mum, I'm off to school" Bethzy said to Nevaeh as she started towards the front door

"Alright dear. Take care" Nevaeh said with a smile, paying less attention to Diamond that walked in.

"Seems you remembered that you left my clothes dirty, do well to wash them. Good thing you came back home" Bethzy whispered the last part into Diamond's ear as she walked past her, and then out of the house.

"What are you doing back home at this time?" Nevaeh asked leaning out of the couch she was sitting a little bit

"I.... I was..... I wanted..."

"You can save it, I don't care anyways" Nevaeh said, shutting her up.

Diamond walked sluggishly towards the stairs and stopped when Nevaeh spoke again.

"Change and get downstairs, you have a lot of work to do" Nevaeh said bluntly

"Didn't see she that I'm crying? She couldn't even ask me what the problem was." Diamond thought

"Okay ma." She said anyways and made her way up to her room.

Xander groaned slightly as he forced his heavy lids open, and they instantly came in contact with a white celling. He looked around but couldn't recognize anything in the room. Yes, he was in a room

"A female room? What am I doing in a female room? And why am I lying on the floor" he thought as he adjusted slowly into a sitting position, too weak to stand up and just then he felt a slight pain in his stomach.

"Ha!" He gasped when he raised his shirt up a little and found a cut on his stomach

"Why do I have a cut on my stomach? And bruises all over my body?" He asked himself in surprise, but he obviously couldn't get the answer to that

"Whose room is this and what exactly am I doing here?" He thought still looking around the room.

"I haven't lost my memory, have I? Of course not" he thought.

He tried remembering something that has happened before he got here, but nothing was coming to his head. The more he tried the more his head ached.

The door suddenly sprang open and Diamond walked in

"Ahhh...!" She screamed as her bag dropped unconsciously on the floor, surprised to see a strange looking guy stained with blood in her room.

He was looking tired, but he was cute. She would have taken out time to admire all his manly features but she was curious to know who he was and how he got to her room.

"Who are you and why are you shouting?" Xander asked giving her an awkward stare

"You are asking who am I in my own room?" Diamond asked perplexed

"Your room? Where is this place?"

"Are you seriously kidding me right now? What are you doing in my room? How did you get in?" Diamond asked still not getting the whole thing, but Xander remained silent

"Okay now, I'm just gonna take it that I am hallucinating, of course I am. So I'm gonna leave now, and by the time I come back I want you gone." She said, walked out of the room and slammed the door hard, with her heart panting hard in her chest.

"Why were you screaming?" Nevaeh asked when Diamond got downstairs, but when Diamond was about answering the question Nevaeh asked another.

"And why are you still in your uniform?"

"I saw..... There's someone in..." Diamond was about telling Nevaeh about Xander but she shut her up

"Aish! No time for your silly stories. Wash my clothes as well as my son's, and my daughter's, tidy up the entire house, and yes, tidy Bethzy's room also, she messed it up again. When you are done prepare lunch, I'm beginning to feel hungry again so I don't want to wait for you. Now hurry, get to work" Nevaeh listed out her duties in a stern tone, and just when Diamond was about leaving she spoke up again

"And do not try using the washing machine, I don't want you to ruin my expensive clothes, also don't give my clothes to any drycleaner, I don't want anyone laying hands on my clothes. Wash them yourself and be sure not to rub your colour on it, it must be clean!" Nevaeh stated clearly and Diamond knowing this to be a norm quietly went upstairs to carry out the instructions one after the other.
