EMAL'S POV
"Your Highness," a guard bows his head a little upon seeing me enter the Castle gates. I smile at him as I walk past him, heading for the palace. The palace was so silent that the drop of a pin could be heard until I enter the royal block. Here, my older siblings sit together, joking and gisting one another so heartily with the exemption of Matilda. She doesn't get along quite well with them as she despises hearing their talks. They mostly don't discuss anything meaningful when they are together, all they know is to gist one another about the several pussies they've tasted and the figure of the girls they want to have or those who throw themselves at them.
"Do you need anything?" the guard following behind me asks again as he sees me standing on the same spot. I manage to brew a smile at him, telling him it's alright.
"Oh no, don't worry about me. you can go ahead."
I walk closer to the castle and my brothers' attention shifts to me.
"Ohhhh, you finally deemed it back to return right?" Shawl scoffs at me, his eyes sparking with dark emotions. It seemed as though he should dig his claws into my flesh right at that moment.
"Who do you think you are, huh?" he stands up to where I am, placing his hand on my shoulder giving a tight, crushing grip.
"What have I done wrong?" I ask calmly. No matter what, they are still my elder brothers and I have to respect them but I have to stand my ground too. What makes them mad at me is something I know very well, but I just want a confirmation hoping that my thoughts about them are wrong.
"Do you have the nerve to ask what you did wrong?" Shawl shoved me to my knees, and I didn't resist. I might get punished for wanting to ruin the royals' reputation and it's not going to be a good turn for me.
They return to their seats and continued chatting over their drinks as I kneel in front of them. Alright, they want to put me in my place but they are going too far. After what looks like an hour, I stand up to my feet and begin walking away from them cautiously not to arouse their attention. Little did I know that I am ahead of myself in my thought. A swift hard kick at the back of my knees set me falling back on my knees in the hardest way ever with the hardest thudding sound.
"Wanted to run away, right? Do you think you have the privilege to do so just because you're a prince, Alpha King's heir? What did you do to father to make you the heir? Speak!"
I couldn't control the tears that stream down my face and they laugh at me widely.
"Why is my presence in the world this way? If I am tormenting them with my birth, they can as well just do away with me and kill me." I want to yell, but they seem to be engrossed in their rants. Ever since dad made me his heir, they have been acting weird towards me more than the previous times and it makes me feel lonely all the way.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" a voice intervenes in my torture session with the royal pups. That voice, I recognize so well. It is no other than my sister. She has beads of sweat on her forehead and I can tell she has been busy as she wouldn't sweat for nothing.
She raises me up to my knees, and I stagger a little but with her right grasp on me, I am able to stand firm with little pain on my knee cap.
"Are you okay?" She eye searches my body for signs of wound but there is none and she sighs in relief. Her face changes to a scary one as she turns to glare at the princes.
"Are you all stupid or something? This guy here isn't just anybody. He's your brother for heaven's sake. What should you do if others are bullying him? Are you supposed to stand by him or do otherwise? Yet, you're here committing the crime just because he has no power? What right do you have to be a prince if you all act this way? I think I now know why father never passed down the throne to you all " she points her fingers at every one of them as she scolds them continuously while I grin inwardly at the scene.
"That's my sister. You're the best, sis" I mutter silently that no one hears. The three princes didn't say a word as Matilda yells at them each. They know so well than to offend the Alpha's favorite even if she is far younger than they are.
"Whatever, just take the weakling out of here. Quick!" Shawl used his authority and she held me away from them towards my room. I try to endure the pain to prevent her from worrying till we finally get to our room.
She closes the door behind us and sits beside me on my bed. For a while, she only stared at my face, studying my expression.
"What happened to you, dear? Why did you run far away and why didn't you sleep in the castle last night? Where did you sleep? Are you hurt? Were you bullied?" She asks all in a rush.
"One question at a time, sister." I say, scrunching up my face at her playfully.
"Something got me working outside the castle and I couldn't make it home." I lie to her and I know she knows as well that I'm lying. All I want is for her to take the hint that I don't feel like talking about it.
"What could have possibly kept you busy till so late?" She asks, hinting at me that she sees through my lie.
"Just something I found to love recently, nothing more."
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
"I know you don't want to talk about it now, but always know that I'm here for you no matter what happens to you. Your big sis is always here." She opens her arms for me to hug her and I embrace her. Patting my back, she brought me warmth. A sensational one that soothes my longing for care. I don't know why, but I love her so much.
She disengages from me with a smile on her face, and I smile back at her.
"Anyway, I just told dad that you're back. He has been worried since last night."
Worried? What type of worry could he have? Does he have to pretend that he has no idea why I left the castle?
"Alright, rest for the night and take care of yourself. I will come see you first thing tomorrow morning."
She places a kiss on my forehead and left, leaving me to my loneliness once again.
