Nova had successfully left the kitchen after she had told them to spend their time doing something meaningful instead of gossiping and asking irrelevant questions to her. One of the maids had said,
'You think you have now become superior over us just because you are the personal maid of the king and have a chance to bed him. You should know that after the king gets tired of you, he will throw you away like the trash you are.' to which Nova had left no comment on.
Nova was now feeling bored and wondered if the palace had a library where she could go and read some books. She spotted the butler not too far away from where she stood giving instructions to a maid and she waited for the man to finish his business with the maid, after which she approached him.
"Mr. Dimitri." Nova called out to the man before he would leave from there. "I wanted to ask if the palace had a library and if it did, where might it be?" She asked directly not wanting to take up much time talking to the butler as he was clearly busy making sure that the palace was spotlessly clean.
"The palace does have a library. But, His Highness has prohibited anyone from entering except some specific people."
"Oh..." Now she was back again to trying to look for something to fill up her time now she was not doing anything.
"If you do still want to visit the library later, you can ask for permission from His Highness. I will have to leave now as I still have things to do." She nodded and the butler turned and left from there.
Sighing, she walked away from where she was standing. Walking up the stairs to the fourth floor where the king's bedroom was located, she walked down the corridor wanting to know what else was there apart from the king's chambers. At the end of the corridor stood a large wooden door with intricate designs on which the wood was of mahogany.
Pushing open the door slightly, she took a peek of what was behind the large doors and saw that it was filled with books on large, tall shelves.
The library.
She found it.
Nova opened the door a little more wider — wide enough for her to fit through and enter then she closed the door behind her.
The books in the library were much and too many for even hundreds of people to read and they all came in their different sizes. She was fascinated by it wondering if the king liked to collect and read books.
Going to one of the shelves, her hand reached out to pick a book which had a red thick cover. Her hand was about to touch it when,
"If you wanted to visit my library, you should have waited for me so we could come here together."
