PROLOGUE: A WAR TORN WORLD

On this day a peculiar phenomenon occurred throughout the world. While the normal functioning of the world was running seamlessly, sudden spurge of energy emerged within the world and vanished in mere seconds.

even if it was for a short period of time, everyone could feel that something has changed about their surroundings. If one could see the planet from space, one would see a sudden emergence of a purple shade emerging out of the pacific depths and spreading in all directions.

It suddenly covered the whole planet and vanished from sight. Astronauts reported this sudden variation in Earth's environment, but the traces were not found. The only certainty was that the measured energy levels during that time were otherworldly.

This phenomenon became a topic of discussion for a very long time before being dropped by scientists and governments all around as the evidence was inexistent. Little did they know that it was the hallmark of a new beginning.

Soon enough environmental changes were observed throughout the world. Be it the composition of air or the temperatures of the surface, everything began to change. The environment was undergoing drastic yet horrifying changes.

At first, scientists pushed the blame on pollution, global warming, or irregular behavior from the sun, but soon enough the scene around the world changed completely. It started with the emergence of wormholes and space cracks throughout the world-

October 2041-

The first space cracks were noticed and reported. A huge number of casualties accounted for people who had gone missing at the very place where the cracks appeared. World governments decided to set up huge military bases around the cracks to study and research their properties.

The scientists tried to read the energy levels, and instruments directly broke down, unable to identify the range. The space cracks were visible yet inaccessible, and a strange substance was continuously overflowing from these spaces.

To the surprise of scholars everywhere, the environment's changes were even more rapid after the appearance of these spatial phenomena.

Conspiracy theories began to circulate throughout the world and a worldwide panic spread among the masses. A bad premonition hung on the top of our heads.

It was during the same time that weird phenomena were reported. Superhuman appearances began to become more and more frequent. What started as a simple rumor began to overlap and take over the news.

A theory of genetic modification was put forward, but no clear evidence was found since these superhumans, if existing, didn't come forward to contribute their secrets.

Just when a new normal was about to take over the world, the first disaster occurred.

March 2042-

The first sightings were seen in the city of Tokyo. The wormhole which opened up in the middle of the city started to undergo drastic changes. the radiation coming out of it broke the chart records. Just when the scientist was trying to grasp the reason for this phenomena, someone shouted.,

"There is something on the other side." Every eye in the hall turned towards the total, just to see a tiny claw appearing from the other side. As it drew near, the size began to increase. At first, it seemed quite lame, but the claw was getting bigger and closer.

"Getaway." Was the last sound heard within the hall as a humongous hand tore through the crack, smashing directly through half of the city in front of it?

Millions lost their lives in a matter of seconds, but the actual horror was yet to come. Figures came out of the cracks. They were not only humongous but didn't resemble anything previously present within earth.

The extraterrestrial invasion soon turned into a bloody massacre as those monsters tore through life in the city. It was during this time that visual confirmation of the supernatural finally appeared.

People came forward and showcased tremendous unusual abilities, fighting with the monsters, killing them, rescuing the masses.

But it was all just the begging.

The next year saw continuous activity from all the wormholes. Monsters and aliens were filling into the earth, and more and more supernatural ability users were appearing on the surface of the planet.

World governments soon reacted by enacting laws on the citizens, controlling the masses, and identifying these supernatural individuals. People who were normal in one began to showcase abilities unknown to humans.

"Doomsday is upon us. Only they are our salvation." People began to call them messiahs who were provided with power from gods. Ability users were revered throughout the world. World governments soon enacted laws to control the movements of these people.

"Hunters" was the term coined by world leaders to signify these powerful personas. Soon enough bureaus and guilds were created to manage the ever-growing traffic of hunters. What started as a supernatural occurrence soon changed into a game for humans.

People who were previously defending against the monsters which came out of the space cracks began to enter these cracks and actively hunt down specimens. These cracks were soon termed as 'dungeons' and these were the places where rare unknown treasures were found and brought back to earth.

Technology has improved and so has the overall strength of the planet. Hunting was the most popular and profitable job known to humans and hunters were revered anywhere they went. People aspired to become one of these powerful personas. The monsters became prey, and a new era of civilization flourished throughout the planet.

A number of hunters began to showcase the power of the nation. Nuclear bombs, which were once the hallmark of strength, became invalid. A single hunter was capable enough to topple the whole army by himself.

Institutions that specifically trained children in these areas began to come up. The normal education system is no longer valid and a new system was adopted to train future hunters. People aspired to become top hunters and change their fate.

Jobs, guilds, treasures, artifacts, soon began to appear on the markets. Superpowers began to emerge from the shadows and reign over people.

A new era of peace and prosperity has returned to humans. Only a single question remained.

"Is this the new beginning or the silence before the calamity?" No one knew the answer, yet all of us were moving towards an uncertain future.
