Chapter 9 - First Quest as an Adventurer

[Calypso – Calliope Balgron]

We manage to send home Uncle Ed, then Rogziel get his things where he's staying. We decided to let Rogziel join us, I need to train him as well.

"Are you guys ready? Let's go to the guild so we can finish as much as we can. More materials more money for food, right?" I said, Kezef and Fria lit their eyes. I saw Rogziel has a confused expression.

"Honey Ziel, Let's finished quest as many as possible so we can eat delicious food!" Fria said and clung her arms to Rogziel.

"I need to borrow Rogziel while you dealt with the quest later Fria. I need to train him as well so he can keep up with us." I said, Fria then nodded.

"You should obey Sis, my Honey Ziel. She can help you enhance your skills and have a contract with your weapon." Fria said happily.

"Let's get going now. We can have breakfast while walking, light meals are good before having a subjugation." I said and walked out. They suddenly walked in front me. Kezef remain on my side.

"Kezef, please guide him so he will not be a burden to us." I ordered him.

"Understood sis. I will do my best." Kezef said and we walk in silence.

...Adventurer's Guild...

"Get all the quest that you think we can finish within the day." I told them then I grab a quest that caught my eye. A dungeon near the forest I live.

"Let's get 5 quests for today including this quest." I said and wave the paper I am holding.

"Alright we gather quest that is worth for exercise sis!" Kezef said.

We head to the reception area to confirm that we will be getting the quest. I can feel that few of the people around us wants to join or feel irritated on our presence.

"Are you really sure that you will get this quest? You can get one quest then get the other quest some other time if it's still available." The staff said.

"Ahh, no worries, we will finish this quest today." Fria proudly said.

I saw Rogziel has a shocked face as well as the other people whose present on the scene. I just remained silent and watch them talk.

"You can bring your loots here after the quest, that's a proof that you finish it then we will be the one to hand it over to the merchant guild. Of course, we will be giving you a commission if you complete the job." The staff explained.

"That's great, we do not need to visit 2 different place to hand over the loots." Kezef said.

"Since you want to get this quest, I will register this to your Team name. May I know the name you will be using?" The staff ask.

"Let's go with Agents. Please write the team's name as Agents." I said and look to the staff.

"D-Rank quest, Antlers Hive, Snake Swamp, Werewolf, Reptile Boss, Forest Labyrinth Dungeon will be handed over to Agents. Is there anything you want to ask? Please let me know." The staff said and ended the conversation so we move to the place where the monsters are.

We arrived at the place where the Antlers Hive are located, this place is not too far from the Capital. I also check the place and marked them so we can finish everything as soon as possible.

"Are you sure we can finish all the quest? In addition, we also have a dungeon to raid." Rogziel said.

"You don't need to worry; we can finish this quest and dungeon unscathed. You need to prepare yourself because you will be having a skill test from Sis." Fria said to him.

"Rogziel, come here. Sit here and relax your mind and body." He did what I told him. "Okay good, now I want you to close your eyes and feel the energy that you have on the center of your body." He closes his eyes and concentrate. "You can see a light from your inner core. Gather all light and form a big circle of your mana. Concentrate, once the mana is gathered at the center. Let the light flow on your whole body. Feel the flow and energy coming from your core. Once you have finish doing that you can open your eye." I said and watch Fria and Kezef.

"Fria, I told you not to let down your defense. No matter how pathetic the enemy is or how weak they are, do not lower your guard." I said to her.

"Sorry, I was too excited to finish this so I can go to my honey." Fria said while fighting the Antlers.

"Quickly finish that." I commanded. "Yes Sis!" She responds.

"Are you done Rogziel?" I ask him.

"Yes, I feel so light and my mana is overflowing." He spoke.

"That's just the first step." I said to him. "Now let's proceed to the next step. Level up your Ki, it enhances your senses as well as your physique. You may wonder how you can enhance your Ki. Simple. Clear your mind and increase your sensitivity to your surroundings. Close your eyes again and feel every means of nature and creature here in the forest. Utilize our sense of sight and hearing and feel the wind and sound. Follow every small detail that you might here. Then form an image based on what you feel and hear."

"Wow! I can sense that there are a group of people heading towards us." Rogziel said.

"Great! You're a fast learner. I will test your skill later so prepare and concentrate to what I have teach you. You will use that later." I said to him.

"Yes, I will. You can also watch Fria and Kezef while improving your senses." I suggested to him. "The two of them used to be so blatantly attacking enemy in front of them, now they can finish one in an instant without having any injury." I Look at him "You can do that too; you can still improve your skill. I will teach you how to form a contract with your weapon once we raid the dungeon later, hoping we can get a good loot."

"How did you learn those things?" Rogziel ask. I answered him with a shrug.

"Let me join your team, I will follow you wherever you travel! I want to learn more and be strong enough to protect people whom I cherish." He said while looking at me with a look that he's serious.

"Good, do not blame me if you starve to death. We do not usually buy things that is unnecessary. Once this raid is done, let's purchase a few clothes that you might need." I said and walk towards Kezef since they are just collecting the materials and loots.

"Let's head to the next target." Kezef said.

"Handle the quest and I will let Rogziel raid the dungeon by himself." I said and smile. Fria and Kezef both show a smile with a malicious intent of gazed towards Rogziel.

"Rogziel Honey, let's go!" Fria run towards Rogziel.

"Look how she change his mood." Kezef said to me with a disbelief look.

[Rogziel Douma's POV]

Calypso suggested to train everyday so I can grow my mana and earn a few more skills that I might be needed in the future. She'll teach me how to sign a contract with my weapon. I am eager to learn more that's why I decided to go with them.

We are almost done with the quest, although I did nothing. The last one left is the dungeon. I'm having a bad feeling about this since they did not let me partake on subjugating the monsters. My attention was caught back to reality when Calypso called for me.

"Rogziel, do your best. You will raid this dungeon alone." She said with a poker face.

"What?!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? For real?!" I shouted back.

"What? You can't do it? We will be assisting you if you happen to encounter a problem. We will be with you inside so don't worry." Fria said to me.

Since we ate dinner with father, she keeps clinging into me. I got annoyed whenever she's near me. I don't know why either, probably because she's too loud and her actions are not a lady-like. Father also tease me that night that he approves of her as his daughter-in-law. What a none sense.

"Pheeeww!!" I sigh in relief. "I thought I am the only one who will enter the dungeon. This will be my first dungeon clear." I told them.

"Let's head in and finish this quickly so we can go back to the capital to eat lunch." Kezef said.

"It's still early. Well done for you two. We can eat early today." Calypso said.

We walked inside the dungeon and... "Accckkkk! What the hell!" I shout in pain; Calypso kick be from behind. "Why did you do that?" I asked her.

"I told you to used what you have learn a while ago. Look in front of you! If I did not kick you, you neck will be rolling on the ground now!" She shouted back! Geez. Scary looking face and aura.

"Sorry! I will amend on my mistakes!" I said and focus killing the monster in front of me.

"Hurry up and finish that thing." She said and sit down. Same with Kezef and Fria who look at me with a smile. Are they not going to help me kill all of these monsters here?

"Go! You can kill all of that Honey." Fria cheered me in the corner.

"You do not need to cheer on me, I can kill all of this!" I keep on dodging and hitting a spot on the neck of the monsters to instantly kill and lessen them.

The last one was a Black Widow Queen Spider! I am exhausted but I think I can keep up. I prepare myself to attack the monster but it was on offensive. The spider attacked with a poisonous web! I was almost caught off guard. I will prove to them that I can kill this shit.

I am fighting for my life here when I heard a voice in my head. "Let me see what you've got. Rogziel. IF proven you are worthy to be with us then I will teach you everything I know to survive in this world." This is....

I look to Calypso so are looking at me with a poker face. "Shit! Get yourself together Rogziel!" I utter to myself.

One last hit and I can kill this piece of shit! "Yaaahhhhhh! ..." I double check if the black Widow is still alive. Since it's already dead I started cleaning and collecting the loots.

"Good work Rogziel, you can continue the training that we have started a while ago." Calypso said, the she motioned that the loots will be place....

What?! Is that a dimensional storage? This is my first time seeing such skills.

"Don't worry I won't run away with your loots." She said... "We will divide the money we will get from this quest." She added.

"Hmmm, what food should we eat today? I want some chicken and ale!" Fria said.

"A White Wine is great as well." Kezef said.

We are now heading back to the guild to claim our commission on these quests. This is a first for me. To finish such quest and raid. No body dare to accept me on their team since they think that I am a burden to them. Some of them scummed me for not giving a proper ratio of the money we have gathered from the quest.

I'm also glad that they help my father when he was attacked by a bandit on his way to the Capital. Is this really a blessing in disguise?
