Against the World: The last Monapart

No one with the name Monapart could ever use magic. But no Monapart ever cared about it. They were always the strongest of them all. Each one stronger than the last. The world couldn't accept their existence. When the strongest Monapart died, they swore to never let another one get stronger again. Every human, beast, and demon would be killed at the mere mention of the name... But time passes, and soon, they forgot. "Curses...Curses... The fucking curses! They were the rage, the fear, and the embodiment of someone's will, so why?! Why all of them are made to kill everything?!" Said the first Monapart. But the curse in front of him didn't answer, it just stared at him smiling like always. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- When he was born, he didn't cry, nor made any kind of sound in the process, but no one cared for him enough to notice. After just two days of life, he opened his eyes. An unusual thing as babies usually need at least a month to do so. His green eyes moved wildly looking at every corner of his room with deep curiosity, but not understanding anything in his view. He still couldn't understand the concept of 'thing' yet, but that changed after one month of life. After one month, he understood he was alive and most of the things in the room weren't. He still couldn't put it in words but he clearly knew that he was way different than the chair next to him. The speed of his understanding was outstanding. Sadly, in his sixth month of life, while he was asleep, flames covered his entire room and himself. It didn't take even a second and all the room turned into ashes. The baby didn't die as expected, but he was no longer in the dark room. [ Curse received: Heart offering ] . . [ Heart offering: Once per day the curse bearer will lose one of his five senses until he loses everything or dies ] . . [ Heart offering is taking effect ] . . [ Sense of hearing lost] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -At least one chapter of 1000 words a day -If you don't like the start, I guess chapter 21 is a good one to jump to but you will still feel a little lost -If you find any error, please comment on it and I will fix it -I hope you like it

Faries are Insane

Alexander and Hans fell into the cave and the fairies stopped. They all looked at the two while holding their daggers.

Alexander looked around seeing Leny's and Anna's corpses.

His expression didn't change but the air inside the cave grew colder. Alexander and Hans suddenly disappeared and appeared beside Ren who was on the edge of dying.

"Stay here and protect him, I'll take care of the rest"

Alexander disappeared again leaving Hans to take care of Ren.

Alexander drew his sword and the fairies all took a step back.

He charged at the closest fairy and swung his sword at it.

He struck the first fairy dead and hit another before anyone else could react. The head of the fairies rolled on the ground but Alexander was far from stopping.

Every time he killed one, ten more appeared and he kept swinging his blade without hesitation.

Mark once again felt ashamed for having ever doubted the young man. He was clearly stronger than him and he devastated so many fairies already.

Hans protected Ren with his shield and sword while he fought. Hans was strong, stronger than both Mark and Ren, but he always had a kind nature that stopped him from going all out.

There were too many fairies for Alexander to defeat alone, he would be fine but if they decided to attack the others, he might not be able to protect them.

As he feared, two groups of thirty fairies appeared next to Hans and Mark.

Their faces showed surprise when they saw Mark standing tall and proud.

Mark always felt envious of Alexander after discovering his strength but now that they were fighting side by side in such a dangerous situation, his presence filled him with energy.

The fairies saw how much blood was flowing from Mark's wounds and they turned pale.

The fairies wanted to see him scream in pain or fall into despair, not this.

A few steps separated Mark and the nearest fairy, he raised his hand and slashed at its neck.

He sliced through its flesh and bone with ease and it died instantly. Blood gushed from the body and formed a small pool on the ground.

The other fairies didn't stop and rushed forward at him.

Alexander was killing hundreds of fairies despite being outnumbered. Their numbers made no difference, he simply slaughtered everyone who got close.

Soon, the number of fairies fell considerably.

But they weren't finished yet, even after killing most of the fairies, Alexander continued killing.

His sword flashed in the dark cave as he carved a path towards Ren and Hans.

Some fairies hesitated because of his strength. They wanted Alexander out of there, he was ruining all their plans.

All the remaining fairies ran to the side and grouped together. They grinned to themselves as they looked at Mark and Vicky.

Half of the fairies separated and rushed toward Alexander to keep him busy and the other half rushed toward Mark and Vicky.

Mark was confident, he looked at the fairies rushing at him with confidence. But the fairies didn't approach him, they circled around him and Vicky while saying strange noises.

"What the fuck..."

A moment later, the fairies, Mark and Vicky disappeared and appeared outside the cave in the mountain's forest.

Mark felt strange by the fairies' actions, he wasn't afraid anymore. They were weak and now they were few in number. He could handle them.

But the fairies didn't attack him, they stood around them while grinning.

Mark couldn't understand what was happening, he looked behind at Vicky and she shared the same confusion.

"Maybe the-"

Vicky suddenly couldn't breathe anymore and she fell to the ground. She grabbed her neck with both hands and opened her mouth in despair.

"Vicky!"

Mark rushed to her side to find out what was happening to her. He watched as she rolled on the ground and tried to look for something wrong.

It was only when she rolled to her back that he saw the tattoo at the back of her neck glowing with a green light.

"I found it! It's th-"

*BOOM!*

Vicky's head exploded and blood sprayed everywhere.

Mark was numb. He felt the blood on his face as he saw the tiny pieces of Vicky's head scattered around.

It was so sudden, so fast, he couldn't process how something like this just...

She was supposed to come back home safely.

Instead, she suffered such a dreadful death.

And he couldn't do anything about it.

All the feelings, all the regret, all the sadness and shock came crashing into him at the same time.

He grabbed his hand with both hands and tears of blood fell from his eyes.

The tears landed on his arms and dripped onto the floor. His legs trembled under the weight of so many emotions.

Mark closed his eyes and fell to his knees. The tears poured endlessly down his cheeks as he fell into complete madness.

The fairies around him enjoyed his suffering.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

They laughed and laughed, some even rolled on the ground without holding back.

The fairies finally stopped laughing when Mark got up. He wiped away his tears and stared at Vicky's dead body and at himself.

In an instant, Mark had gone insane.

Without thinking, he raised his right arm and smashed the skull of the nearby fairy.

The sound echoed throughout the forest, it sent chills down every spine in sight.

Blood gushed from the severed head as it fell to the ground and broke apart. More blood spewed out and formed another puddle.

More fairies gathered around the decapitated head, curious to know why it exploded like that.

When Mark realized what happened, he started smashing the heads of the fairies until none remained alive.

He painted the forest trees with the fairies' blood.

After they were all dead, in the middle of his insanity he lost the sense of time.

His vision blurred and it became night, it blurred again and it became day. Then it was dusk, then dawn. And eventually, nothing was left but darkness.

It continued until he felt something on his chest. He opened his eyes and saw a dagger piercing his chest.

Mark gasped in pain, he quickly moved to get rid of it. He pulled it off and threw it away. But again, another dagger pierced his chest. He removed it again but the same thing happened.

That was when his vision returned again. No time passed since Vicky died, he didn't kill any fairies since then. The fairies were still laughing at him.

Even his insane mind couldn't believe it.

It was all an illusion. Fairies are specialists in illusions, the moment his mind broke, they took control of it and toyed with him until they were bored.

Then they stabbed him to death.

That explained everything.

Mark's body was pierced by all sides and his neck was cut.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

The last thing Mark heard was the fairies' laughter as he looked at Vicky's beheaded body, which lay lifeless next to him.
