Movie Night

The kiss came out of nowhere, and Feng Jiu was entirely unprepared for it. One minute Dong Hua was over the other side of the sofa, and the next minute, he was kissing Feng Jiu.

Unable to resist any longer, Dong Hua pinned her onto the sofa and clasped her hands above her head, kissing her even more passionately. Feng Jiu ran her fingers down his spine and pulled him closer.

At this moment, negative thoughts shot through her mind.

"What exactly am I doing now...?!  Wake up, Feng Jiu. Dong Hua only likes me now because he forgot about Ji Heng, and she is the one that he likes. Once he remembers everything, all these will be gone."

With these thoughts bothering her, Feng Jiu immediately pushed Dong Hua away and ran towards her room. She locked her door and fell straight onto her bed, crying breathlessly.

Feng Jiu then covered her mouth with both of her hands, as she was afraid that Dong Hua would hear her cry.

It was agony for Feng Jiu, knowing that this could be the first, last, and only time that she could kiss Dong Hua.

Dong Hua was worried about Feng Jiu, so he stood outside her door. Then he heard her faint cries.

He walked back to the sofa and slowly sat down while thinking to himself, "Why is she crying? Did she regret the kiss with me? Was it because I'm not the one that she truly likes?"

Initially, he thought she was just shy, but he came to realize that Feng Jiu was just avoiding him all along. His emotions were all over the place. His heart was in pain, and he couldn't help but shed some tears.

Dong Hua then wiped his tears away and left the house.

Upon hearing the main door closing, Feng Jiu wiped away all her tears and quickly ran out of her room to check on Dong Hua.

She was worried about Dong Hua because she was afraid that he would be in danger if he were outside alone. Dong Hua wasn't familiar with the neighborhood too.

She immediately grabbed her belongings and ran after Dong Hua. But it was too late; he had already left the building.

Feng Jiu panicked and ran around the nearby places, frantically looking for Dong Hua.

After searching for more than 30 minutes, Dong Hua was still nowhere to be found. She broke down in desperation and squatted down towards the floor. She had her head bowed,  and she started sobbing uncontrollably.

Out of nowhere, someone patted Feng Jiu on her head and said, "What are you doing here?"

She looked up immediately as she recognized that voice; it was Dong Hua's voice. She stood up instantly and hugged Dong Hua tightly while yelling, "Where did you go?! I was so worried about you. I tried to find you, but I couldn't. I thought I lost you for real."

Dong Hua was shocked to see Feng Jiu crying so hard, he immediately hugged her back tightly and patted her back gently while trying to console her.

"I'm so sorry, Jiu-er. I didn't mean to worry you. I just went out to get you some ice cream, and I lost my way back because I wasn't familiar with the place. I'm okay now, so please don't cry. It hurts me to see you cry like this. I'm sorry, it's my fault."

Dong Hua wanted to cheer Feng Jiu up after hearing her cry. Despite him feeling upset about it, he wanted to make sure that she was feeling better. He told himself that he didn't care if Feng Jiu didn't like him now because he was determined to make her fall for him slowly.

Little did he know, he was in her heart since the start.

After Feng Jiu calmed down, she said softly, "I'm sorry too, Dong Hua. Let's go home now. Should we have some ice cream later on?"

They smiled at each other, and Feng Jiu held onto Dong Hua's hand while they walked back to their apartment.

While they were walking back home, Feng Jiu had a weird feeling that someone was watching them. She looked around, but she didn't see anyone. Then she brushed it off, thinking that she was just too tired, and they continued walking home.

Since Feng Jiu had the day off tomorrow, they decided to stay up and watch a movie together.

"You can start the movie first, Jiu-er. I'll be out shortly, with ice cream!" Dong Hua yelled from the kitchen to Feng Jiu, who was in the living room.

He swiftly walked to the living and sat down beside Feng Jiu, with a big bowl of ice cream in his hands. Then they shared the bowl of ice cream.

Midway through the movie, he held on to Feng Jiu's hands and realized that her hands were freezing cold.

Dong Hua quickly ran towards Feng Jiu's room, grabbed a thick blanket and covered her with it, so that she would be warm.

"You're so thoughtful, Dong Hua." Feng Jiu smiled sweetly to Dong Hua.

"I know! What will you do without me? You took great care of me, but you don't even take good care of yourself at all!" Dong Hua knocked Feng Jiu's head gently.

"Ouch! That hurts!" She playfully teased him.

"You're so weak, even a gentle knock on your head could hurt you! And do you know what could hurt me?" Dong Hua replied sarcastically.

"What is it...? You're so strong, of course, nothing could hurt you!" She then stuck out her tongue at him.

Dong Hua's expression suddenly turned into a serious one, and he gazed deeply into Feng Jiu's eyes.

"You're wrong, Jiu-er. I'm the weakest when it comes to you. I lose control over myself and my emotions whenever you're around me. To be honest with you, I heard you crying just now. It hurts me deeply, and it hurts me even more, to know that I'm not the one in your heart."

"I'm sorry, Dong Hua. It's not about that... It's because I... I... don't know how to explain to you right now." Feng Jiu stuttered, and she was trying to hold back her feelings because she was afraid.

"It's okay, Jiu-er. You don't have to explain it to me, I understand. I know there's someone else in your heart now. But it's okay, no matter how long it takes, and how painful it is, I'll wait for the day that you will let me enter your heart."

Dong Hua then smiled gently and rubbed her nose with his knuckle of his index finger. Feng Jiu was speechless, her feelings were conflicted, and her mind was in a mess.

She painfully thought to herself, "That person in my heart was you; it had always been you. I don't know if I could ever love someone else as much as I love you. But right now, I can't tell you how I feel. I'm sorry, Dong Hua. Hopefully, someday I'll get the chance to tell you how I truly feel."

Then she smiled and said to Dong Hua, "Thank you for everything that you've done for me, Dong Hua. I really mean it."

Dong Hua then tried to ease the awkward tension between them by saying that he would grab more ice cream, and he quickly got up and ran towards the kitchen.

Feng Jiu started to slowly move towards Dong Hua, as she was feeling cold. Dong Hua then pulled her closer and cuddled her after noticing that she was feeling cold.

She tried to resist a little, and Dong Hua said, "Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. Just stay still if you don't want to feel cold. If you keep moving like that, I don't know if I could resist doing more things to you."

Feng Jiu immediately sat still and replied, "Fine, I won't move! You're always teasing me."

Feng Jiu then started to yawn non-stop throughout the movie, and she eventually fell asleep in Dong Hua's arms. It was too comfy for her.

Dong Hua looked down to see Feng Jiu sleeping and thought to himself, "My silly Jiu-er, how cute she looks when she's asleep. She must be exhausted after a long day at work."

Not wanting to wake her up, he slowly lifted her and carried her to her room. He laid her down gently on the bed and covered her with a blanket.

Dong Hua couldn't stop staring at her sleeping face, he gently touched her hair and kissed her forehead.

Then he turned off the lights in her room and went towards the living room.

Dong Hua laid down on the mattress and looked out the window. He stared at the moon, which was shining right down on him while thinking about everything that happened today.

Dong Hua couldn't stop thinking about Feng Jiu and smiled to himself. He felt happy to know that Feng Jiu was so worried about him when he went missing earlier on. He felt that he was important to Feng Jiu.

Dong Hua eventually fell asleep to the thought of them kissing early on.

If I were given another chance to kiss you,

it would be hard for me to stop kissing you, Jiu-er.
