50,000 years ago, Hell was destroyed because of too much Foul from the resentment of the souls that later turned to Soul Eaters and devoured everything in their wake, leaving nothing of Hell. The gods above in Heaven, in order to take care of the newly-died souls, created the Afterlife Department comprised of grim reapers. Conjecture
Ruan Yu stared at Xie Chen for a while as they stood in the empty hallway. Their figures that are dressed in black created a sharp contrast with the white walls, white ceiling and the white, marbled floor beneath their feet reflected their two figures which are standing opposite each other.
Then, slowly, Ruan Yu opened his lips. "Hello." He greeted.
Xie Chen nodded and walked towards Ruan Yu. Ruan Yu remained on his spot and waited for the other to reach him.
"Doctor Ruan." Xie Chen called as he took Ruan Yu's medicine box from Ruan Yu's hands. "Gu Shi told me to fetch you." He explained.
"… oh." Ruan Yu muttered with an indifferent expression on his face before he pulled back his medicine box which he is still holding by the handle.
