First day, first enemies

Waking up in Kasaria felt terrible, it was just too hot. I'm guessing the queen and other ladies in court await the story of my wedding night. Well Ivor didn't even come to my chambers, not like I was expecting him to come.

"may I come in?"

It was Ivor.

"ohh..... yeah but the wedding night's over prince" I said

" I'm coming in " he said, opening the door.

He was with a Knife, I was shocked.

" ohh...the knife.... right.....well I thought about you.... sorry...what people would say about you all night" he said

" me?" I asked

" I need to cut your leg .....just a little cut to stain the sheets trust me it's for your honour, rumors spread fast in Kasaria" he said

He carried me on top the bed and made a small cut on my foot. The cut bled a lot .He sealed the cut with his fire powers.

" thanks for your concern" I said.

" I should be thanking you for fulfilling your duty and I should fulfil mine "

" it doesn't matter anymore " I said

" of course it does to me .....I have arranged for our trip to Alivea tommorow at dawn " he said

"Alivea? you mean the second kingdom of fire and smoke?" I asked

" Yes.....and my brother is really anxious to meet you " he said

" Brother?"

"Save your questions for later Princess, I have work to tend to " he said as he left.

I screamed in excitement and danced. The travels I dreamed about as a child was about to begin. Alivea? I couldn't wait to see another Kasaria. I heard it was small but more beautiful than Kasaria.

" my lady are you okay? " Lisa asked as she entered my chambers.

" beyond alright Lisa , get the maids to pack my luggage and pack yours too we leave for Alivea tommorow"

"it's happening my lady, your dream at last " Lisa said.

Lisa and I continued dancing, until I realized that I was late for court.

" Lisa run a cool bath for me quickly I'm late for court.....ohh no my first day" I panicked

The water wasn't cold to my satisfaction so I quickly iced it a little with my powers. I had my bath and got dressed.

I made my way with Lisa to the courtroom

" why so late?" queen Beth asked

" I'm sure she's too weak after all Ivor did to her last night" a lady of the court said as other ladies laughed mockingly.

I took my seat near queen Beth.

" let it go child and smile to show them you don't care you'll one day be queen and they won't dare say a word to you" Queen Beth said

I smiled with my head held high. it worked, the court ladies couldn't say anything to my face again, I only heard whispers.

" So..... princess Alee....?" court lady Joanna said

" Aleera ,Lady Joanna" I said

" and how do you know my name?" she asked

" I've been told about you"

" by whom if I may ask" she said

" I believe that's not your concern" I said.

She was surprised at how I replied her . I was not a fool and never will be. I was to be queen. I needed to start earning my respect from my first day in court.

" so princess Aleera are we expecting an heir soon or are you not fertile or did you not consumate my marriage" . Lady Joanna said

" what is to be expected or what happens on my marriage bed does not concern the court I believe? " I asked rhetorically

" you wish to find yourself enemies in the court my lady?" Lady Anna said

" Lady Anna I'm to be queen soon and I'm the hybrid as you know I can't and will never trust anybody I don't even trust my mother and also I have enemies without even finding them" I said.

" we are to advise you my lady" Lady Joanna said.

" and so you will .....so don't ask me questions about my life we are here for Kasaria so play your role and advise me and also I'll do what's best for this kingdom and if your advice doesn't tally with that I'll not take it" I said

I felt so achieved. I earned the respect of the court ladies in just one meeting. My mother taught me well.

" that'll be all for this meeting" queen Beth said.

All the court ladies curtsied and left.

" Aleera" queen Beth called me

I turned to listen

" that was very brave of you ...what you said.....I never would've had that confidence on my first day you need to find court ladies you can lean on trust me there are better ones than Joanna and Anne" she said

" yes mother.... and Ivor and I leave for Alivea tommorow " I said.

" I know....he told me.... you both should have a wonderful time and I hope you return with a baby in your belly " queen Beth said

we both laughed as we escorted ourselves out of the courtroom. A baby? not possible.

" Lisa let's go to the fountain I want to train"

"yes my lady ".

I got to the fountain and I started training my powers. The energy of the fountain water was pure, I could feel it. it helped me clear my mind.

" I didn't know you'd like the gift so much....I'd have had one made in your chambers " Ivor said as he approached me

" is it possible " I asked curiously

" of course not princess " he said

I continued training, I couldn't concentrate a surge of thoughts went on and on in my mind because Ivor was there.

mistakenly, I made an ice arrow and it almost pierced Ivor but he melted it with his fire before it got to him

" are you okay?.....I'm sorry I couldn't concentrate" I said.

" woah....woah.....your eyes have gone all hybrid calm down girl" he said.

" it happens when I feel too much emotions at once" I said

" then you'll need to learn how to use them....you'll face many threats here in the palace..... people will question your powers this trip will be good for you" he said

" yeah....I think so.... I've already made enemies today at court today "

" wow..... you never seize to amaze me do you princess?" he asked rhetorically

We laughed and he offered to show me more of the palace again. Lisa winked at me at every time she crossed me, she doesn't stop teasing me. I already knew that I'd fallen for Ivor but I couldn't accept it. He also gave me some impressions that he had as well fallen for me but sometimes he becomes so strict with me. Night came so quickly and it was time for bed.

He escorted me to my chambers.

" good night princess" he said

" good night prince" I said

he smiled and left.

I thought he'd want to enter my chambers. he keeps on leading me on but he never takes a step, not that I want him to take a step but the feeling crosses my mind. I skipped that thought by thinking of my trip to Alivea. My life was about to begin.
