The Beginning

Long ago a divine tree fell from heaven and brought series of unexplained phenomenon from raging hurricane and tsunamis to oversized tornados and hailstorms big enough to crush one's house in that moment 8 floating beings showered in bright glittering light came out of what only what people to believe were portals they didn't shout but it's as if there voices were strong enough so that everyone was able to hear. "Those who survive the following events, are welcome to test there remaining luck at the divine tree. If you manage to become a guardian knight you are granted permission to go to the "in between" for those of you who fail well theirs always your next life." and from what my grandpa told my dad the sinister look those being made after that speech sent shivers down his spine so much so he didn't want to seek out the divine tree many others that were close enough to get a glimpse at the beings also felt the same way and didn't seek out the divine tree but their were many others that had different opinions and reasons for seeking out the divine tree and thus started the Era of the great massacre. For every 5,000 people that showed up to try there luck only 2 maybe 3 would make it out alive and thus was sent away to the In Between. For those who decided to stay they were forced to into polyamours for higher success in breeding my grandpa explained it as the butcher factory needings more cows it made my stomach hurt just think about it. We were no longer at the top of our own food chain, we became lawless we were hopeless. Every morning every person left on earth was forced to come to the divine tree and give prayer to the tree so that it grows even more when I pray to the tree it's nothing but built up hatred. these laws were imposed on us from those beings but we're kept in check by guardian knights....our own people supposedly this was punishment for them if they did something bad in the In Between but everytime we would ask grandpa he would get grumpy and start yelling randomly at guardian knight so we were forbidden from mentioning this to him again.
