The Arrival

'Where am I now?' All I could see was darkness. 'Did it just put me in complete darkness? Does it... Does it want me to go mad?'

The thoughts came back in full blast in the presence of the darkness. But this time, the main driver was fear.

I felt something snap. I moved violently in an act of desperation. My eyes watering as I tried to fight this reality.

'I should have never trusted that giant.' I mournfully thought when suddenly a pressure wrapped around my body. Crushing me into a tight space. I tried to restrict it but I was overpowered.

I felt something grab my legs. I resisted throughout it all. It pulled, and I pushed back enraged about everything that was happening. But it was an uphill battle. I was pulled down deeper and deeper despite my efforts.

The being got a better hold on me, grabbing my waist. I felt another pull and...

POP!

An audible pop sounded in my ear as my body was pulled completely through. I saw light.

However, that didn't ease my fears as in between the light were shadowy figures, moving all around. I fought both tooth and nail against them. Both again I was overpowered.

"It's... Boy!" I heard something but I couldn't quite understand what was being said.

The shadows started to get close. One grabbed me and raised me in the air before I was passed to another shadow.

"Here... Go, Mrs.Mertens." Again, another inaudible dialogue.

The shadow lowered me down before setting me up something soft. I felt myself sink slightly when I felt movement behind me. Feeling a motion, I turned back to look.

My eyes widen as I gaze behind me for my sight was clear. My tears dried off my face as her blonde hair filled my eyes. Her smile brought warmth to my once cold heart. I felt parts of my sanity come back as I gazed at her face.

Sweat ran down her tired face, but despite that, she wore a smile.

"You're beautiful... Marty, come here." She tiredly called out, gesturing weakly for someone to come.

Shortly after, a man enters from her side. His dirty blond hair contrasted with her light blond. He wore a mustache and a scrappy look. He gazes over me before his eyes started to water. He turns away as sobs could be heard, the woman patting him on the back.

I stared at them longly before glancing at my surroundings. I could clearly see people moving around the room. They were lab coats and weird animal beanie hats as they paced around the room. One of them came to our side and talked to the dirty blonde man.

"Mr.Mertens. Would you like to cut the cord?" They asked, carrying scissors.

The man looked surprised before becoming nervous. "Uh, I'm not good-" He was cut off as the woman beside him reassures him with a touch.

"Ok, Min." He nods at her before taking the scissors.

The person then leads him to the front of us. I turn my head along with them, noticing we were on a bed. I saw the position we were in and I then realized what is happening.

SNIP!

'I was just reborn.' I thought feeling dumbfounded.

I lay there blankly as the nurses dressed me up. I just didn't know what to think. I just spent so much time in space before being picked up by some space giant. Then got tossed in a swirl of stars before getting reborn as a baby.

I draw back to the nurses as they wrap something around my foot. Now rethinking the previous event, these nurses were probably the shadows I saw beforehand. One of the nurses picked me up before giving me back to the couple I saw before.

"Congrats, Minerva." She said before leaving the room. The others in the room also said their congrats before following.

I felt relieved seeing them, knowing the dark times are over. I felt at peace when I am with them. But I couldn't help but question my current circumstances.

'Am I home? Why am I a baby?' But unlike my previous questions, I am ok with not receiving an answer.

"Marty." The woman said as she called for the man beside her. "Do you want to hold him?"

I watch the man raise his hands to decline before pausing. He rubbed his hands together before giving his lap many pats, siking himself up. He sucks a breath in before breathing out, reaching out his hands.

The woman raised me, handing me to the man. He struggled with holding me, changing my and his position several times. I could feel his discomfort with me increasing as he grow more anxious as he tried.

I felt something within me reach out as my arms grabbed his nearby fingers. I slowly brought them to my chest as I stared deeply into his eyes.

His anxiety went down as a smile grew on his face. I heard an "Aww" on the sidelines when I snapped out in surprise. My actions before were done without my say. As if some instinct came over me to comfort this man that is my father.

Father...

I don't know if this is my original world. And I don't really care. As long as it isn't that dreaded place I'm ok with anything.

I interact with the couple, my new family. They played with me, talked to me, and (unfortunately) fed me. It was completely natural, but I could help but feel like I was taking advantage of my mother.

Anyways, as the day went on my eyes grew more and more drowsy and I drift to sleep.

After some time, I woke back up. I was drowsy and slept a bit more when I remembered the events of yesterday. My eyes snapped open as I looked around. I saw my father sleeping in a chair, drooling slightly with a snore.

"Hey." My ears perk up as movement occurred behind me. After shifting my body around, I was faced with my mom.

"So active so earlier in the morning." She spoke softly, lightly bouncing me up and down. "I hope thanks a good sign of health."

I stared blankly at her as she prop my body up. "You know I wanted to tell you this when you were awake." She announced before continuing. "Me and your father have decided to name you, Finn."

She gave me a name.

'Finn...' I repeated silently in my mind as a mix of emotions came over me. A wave of comfort and familial love. Happiness sparked in my heart causing me to grow a smile.

"You like too, hmm?" She query as a smile grew on her face too. "I'm glad."

I am too.

After a few days of staying at the hospital, we were making our leave. Me and my mother were sitting on a bench as we wait for Father to pick us up. I enjoy the temporary cool breeze passing by as we were covered by shade.

I gaze at my mom as she dressed in the deep blues of the shadows, rocking me back and front. She caught me staring and playfully stick her tongue out. I smiled at her action, feeling the familial bond.

After our little interaction, a white van rolls up. It stops in front of us and the door from the other side opens. From the other side ran my dad as he quickly aids my mom in standing up.

"Here Min," Dad said as he open her door.

"Thanks, babe." She said before kissing him.

She got in the car with me in her arms before Dad close it. He got in on the other side and started up the car.

"Ok, you guys ready to go?" He inquired as he prepare to drive off.

"Yes, Marty. I can't wait to show him everything." Mom said eagerly.

"Me too, Min. Me too." He releases the brakes, moving forward and leaving the hospital behind.

I watched as pass the hospital. This was the start of my new life. I'm... concerned... and hopeful.

I turn my head in curiously wondering what the world looks like. The sun shines on my face as I watch the scenery. The area was a topical place, with palm trees and lush bushes every on the sides.

We slowly pass the miniature jungle leaving it, behind us as we enter the city. Houses started popping up and later so did people. I saw various people on the street, from people with normal clothes to those in loose rubber suits to people with weird animal hats again.

After a bit more sightseeing and driving, we stop at a house. It was an elevated house that stood on poles. It had a balcony and a well-maintain lawn.

Dad cut off the engine before helping us get out of the car.

"Here it is Finn. Your new home." Mom announced as we walk towards it.

Here it is. My new home. My new life.

Hello here again with another update. I didn't think I would be able to update this so soon. Umm. Yeah. Umm, let me know what you think of the chapter.
