Chapter Thirteen

Things blurred in and out of focus.

Park tried to rise from his bed.

But he couldn't muster any strength.

He caught Ella fixing her blouse.

"These recruits are fun to play with."

Ella was mumbling to herself.

"Huh?"

"What's going on?"

Park's speech was slurred.

"Goodmorning honey."

"I want check something. It won't take long."

"Unicorn eating rainbows..."

"Wow It's working better than I thought."

Ella clasped her hands on Park's face.

"Just a small peek. Pretty Please."

"Princess Buttercup..."

She gasped.

"Is that a, yes? Parkie?"

"Thank youuuu."

Ella's voice trailed off as she dug into Park's memories. Park's eyes rolled back.

"..."

"Seems you did some renovations here."

Ella was in Park's mind.

Before her, played the battle scene that occurred back in the slime dungeon.

But something was off.

"Bad Parkie. Always hiding things from big sister Ella."

The faces of everyone in that scene were glitching out. Pieces of the scene were also replaced with glitches.

{Interrupt skill is strongly in effect]

"Is someone peachy?"

She looked over her shoulder to something in the dark.

Multicolored rings stared back at her from within the darkness.

"Come on, don't you want to welcome your guest?"

The rings only stared back in silence.

They observed her for a while.

Then they slowly vanished back into the darkness.

Finishhh andd gett outttt

The overlapping voices echoed all around Ella.

"Someone's been taking his classes seriously. Congrats."

Ella cheerfully clapped for the entity.

She resumed watching the scene to completion. There was some garbling at the end.

"The more I see you Parkie, the more I want you. Just imagine..."

Ella stopped mid-sentence.

"Did he say succubus?"

Tiiimmessss uuupppp

"WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!"

Ella was violently pulled into the dark.

Thunderous clanging.

A nurse stormed in.

"Who's there?" she asked tentatively.

A hand shot up and tightly grabbed the bed. Ella pulled herself up. Her nurse hat was slightly askew. She was staring at the nurse.

"Ella?"

"Heh slipped on some slob."

"Heavy sleeper"

Ella said tapping Park's chest.

"Did you say Ella? Is she in there?"

There was rushed footsteps.

Ella knew who that voice belonged to.

"Yeeeahh gotta bounce."

The moment the nurse broke eye contact to look at Anu, Ella vanished in a pink cloud.

"Where is she?"

Anu was fuming.

"She is right..."

Park was now alone.

"...here."

The last residue settled in the small pink clump that gathered up on the cracked floor.

"Everytime."

Anu sighed.

"On to other matters, how's he doing?"

"Not much has happened. Heard he's a heavy sleeper though."

Anu raised his eyebrow.

"You'll inform me when something more..."

He looked over the nurse's shoulder...

"Rainbow chewing chocolate sprinkles...Muhehe."

...and back at her.

"...substantial happens."

Anu and the nurse left.

A few minutes later.

"Rainbo...huh?"

Park snapped back to reality.

"What happe..."

"..."

"Ella."

Park tried to open his eyes, but something blocked him. He tried to feel his face. There was a fabric covering his eyes. A blindfold of sorts. He run his fingers through.

"Hey! Easy with that!"

Park froze.

"Gretsa?"

"In the flesh."

"Now I'll need to borrow that blindfold for a minute."

"And I feel like I should tell you this but don't open them. KEEP. THEM. CLOSED."

With this she went.

Gretsa really put Park in a fix. Now he really wanted to do it. Just a small peek. Park's eyes quivered. He slowly opened them.

No sooner had his eyes opened than he immediately shut them. The feedback was intense. Colors flashed before him.

The doors creaked open.

"Ok so you might have to overlook the wet..."

"..."

"You opened them, didn't you?"

"Whooo? Meee?"

Something trickled down his cheeks.

Was he crying?

He swiped off a bit and sniffed it.

It was metallic.

Blood.

"..."

"Noooo?"

"I swear this kid."

Gretsa went and came back with a bucket of water with a rag in it. She wiped.

{Error]

Clean.

And wiped.

{Error]

Clean.

{Error]

And wiped.

Clean.

"You know what?"

Gretsa wrapped up Park's eyes and went. The wrapping felt mushy.

Wait...

Gretsa was the one who treated him?

This wet feeling brought back some bad memories.

There was a slight ringing and then it was over.

Something heavy fell on his lap.

It took him by surprise.

He cautiously felt around the mysterious object.

A book?

"Read it"

{Do you wish to record "Brutal Fist Technique"]

{Y/N]

Books too?

Let's see what happens then.

{Y]

{"Brutal Fist Technique" has been recorded]

The writings slowly vanished. It was now an empty husk.

Park could feel it. His brain turned into a sponge. It soaked everything up. He felt like he could do it at that moment.

He was ecstatic and got up trying to perform the techniques that he had just seen.

"Do we just tell him?"

Park heard voices outside and quickly got back into bed. He tried to use seismic sense to figure out who they were. The waves spread beyond the door. He could see four white figures. But one of them shone the brightest.

"Seems like he has been expecting us."

He was found out.

"Can we come in?"

"..."

"Yup."

"So, we are here to administer hopefully the last dosage."

The doctor was speaking to the shining one.

"So, are you ready? I hope you did ample preparations. I don't want what happened to your brother to happen to you too."

The figure nodded.

It stepped forward and stretched out its hands.

"O Lumina..."

There was a blast of light. The feedback was intense. Park quickly shut off Seismic sense.

{Ink has been disturbed]

Luminaaaaa???

"Uh-Oh! This doesn't sound good"

"Please stop."

"...may you cast your eyes of mercy on this poor soul and save it from this damned fate that it has been cursed to follow."

"Please stop."

They ignored his plea.

{A new energy has been detected]

{A foreign force has repulse...]

{The foreign force has a new idea]

Wherever there is light, so shall there be darkness

Park felt a force move him. He tightly clasped the healer.

{Ink is welcoming the new energy]

"I swear I don't know what's happening."

"Doctor look."

The light in the room continued growing darker and darker.

Meanwhile Park tried to loosen his grip but a certain someone couldn't let him.

Then there were screams. The healer's hands were shriveling up. The healer stood there transfixed unable to move. His eyes rolled back.

"Yeah, this is not good."

In a quick action.

The doctor drew out something from his within his coat.

There was a blur.

Then a slice. The healer fell, clearly out of his mind.

"Quick! Carry him away!"

The two nurses helped to carry the knocked-out healer out of Park's room.

The doctor took one last look at Park.

"What have you done?" he murmured as he dashed out of the room.

Park was now alone.

He was gasping for air.

The hands still in his grasp.

They broke apart and fell on his lap.

A small ashy mountain.

He fell back on his bed.

8:00P.M.

With the last creak the door was shut. All the bustling activities died down.

The infirmary fell dead silent.

Park was getting ready to sleep.
