The Drive pt 3

"Umm, can we talk when we get back on the road. I have to gather my thoughts, otherwise I will sound alike a person meant for an insane asylum." Natalie asked while giggling at the last part.

"Yeah, let me finish pumping the gas. Go ahead and get in, get comfy and test out that new pillow." I told her with a smile. Although I am really wondering what she would like to talk to me about.

Me: do you know what is going on Dom?

Dom: midnight is starting to fill me in, just wait for Natalie to tell you.

I could not even reply back to Dom since he decided to cut our link. Now I am really confused, Midnight is telling Dom what is going on? Maybe it is to keep both of us calm when I am finally told.

Once I got in the car and we started driving again, I looked at Natalie expectantly.

"Okay, so I cannot tell you how happy I am to be out of River Rock. That and I get to always see grandma and grandpa. Well, the Morris's since I get to call them that now. But in all this happiness Midnight and I are feeling, there is another feeling as well." Natalie said, the whole time she was looking out window next to her. I can tell she is getting a little scared.

"Okay, babe, what is this other feeling you are getting?" I asked.

"Like something bad is going to happen. I do not know what but I have the nagging feeling like the happiness isn't going to last." Natalie said, and when she finally faced me I could see her eyes were filled with unscheduled tears. "I know you probably think I am crazy now."

"No, you are not crazy. Plus, Dom already told he suspects Midnight is a special wolf. If she really is a special wolf, then this may be one of her abilities. But we will not know more until your first shift." I told her reassuringly, while rubbing soothing circles on her hand.

"I do not want anything bad to happen Lucas. Midnight and I are finally happy." Natalie replied.

"Babe, I will make sure that happiness never goes away. But if it makes you feel better, when we get to Blood Moon I can assign two guards for you. That way you always feel protected. But that is totally up to you." I do not want her to feel like she isn't safe in our pack or anywhere else for that matter.

"Midnight says that that is a good idea for now. However, she would like them to be your most trusted people." Natalie said to me.

"Well, my two most trusted people are my brother, Nathan, and my gamma Oliver. Nathan is 24 and didn't want to be Alpha. Right now he is helping train the new recruits. So I know he would be happy to help guard you. Oliver is 20, easy to get along with however, he does take his job seriously." I relayed to Natalie.

"Okay, that sounds good. Maybe we can have them meet us after we get some sleep? I don't want to give the wrong impression by being deliriously tired." She said with a laugh.

"Of course babe, besides they wouldn't be awake by the time we get there. Speaking of which, we should be getting close to the pack soon. I would say about another hour. So if you want to take a small nap, and then when we get to the pack house I will wake you up."

"Sounds like a plan. Thank you for not thinking I was crazy. You don't know how much that alone means to me." She said, but what she did after that caught me by surprise. Natalie leaned over to my side of the car, and kissed my cheek. I froze for a second, and then feeling the sparks linger on my cheek I smiled.

It did not take long for Natalie to fall back asleep, especially considering she was using the pillow I was able to find. However, what she doesn't know is that I will be taking her to the mall tomorrow. She needs a wardrobe, and toiletries. I may see if Oliver and his mate, Rose, will come as well.

Me: Hey Kaden, keep your eyes peeled at all times. Natalie and her wolf are saying that something bad is going to happen. However, they do not know when.

Kaden: ooookay, how does she know this?

Me: Dom suspects that her wolf, Midnight, is a special wolf. Although we won't know until she shifts. But that cannot happen until Natalie has put meat on her bones.

Kaden: Okay, I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Me: also when we get back to Blood Moon, Natalie and I are going to get some sleep. After that I will need to speak with Oliver and Nathan.

Kaden: oh goddess, what did they do?

Me: it isn't what they did but what they are going to do. I am going to assign them as body guards for Natalie. She said that Midnight thinks it would be a good idea.

Kaden: Well I know Nathan will like the job change. You know he hates training the newbies. I don't think Oliver will mind either, plus he won't be trying to get on anyone's nerves hahahaha.

Me: very true.

We are now getting ready to go through the gate of Blood Moon territory. I made sure to mind link the guards on duty tonight that I was coming through with another car behind me. Once both cars have entered the territory, I decided it was time to wake Natalie.

"Baby, we are home." I said while lightly shaking her shoulder.

"Really? It feels like I just went to sleep." Natalie said while yawning. But as soon as she seen out the window, all I could feel was excitement from her.

"Yeah, it is about 3:30am. It is up to you if you want to go back to sleep or not when we get up to our room. But I, on the other hand have to get ready for the warriors training st 4:30am. You are more than welcome to either sleep or come watch." I told her while we pulled up to the pack house.

"Well I cannot sleep now, I am too excited. So I will watch warriors training. Maybe if I watch them enough, I can learn a few things. I want to train after I get healthy again." She said with determination in her voice.

"That is something we can work out. But first let's get this stuff inside, get something proper to eat, and then I will have Kaden take your grandma and grandpa to their new house." I told her as I got out of my car. This time she didn't even give me enough time to open her door. However, once her feet touched the ground she started bouncing on her toes.

"Love, you are acting so damn adorable right now. Who knew someone could be this excited about moving." I said with a chuckle.

"Everything feels like it is finally falling into place Lucas. Apart from that nagging feeling, I am beyond happy." She said while giving me a hug. Goddess, being able to hug her is the most satisfying thing. She feels like home.
