Exhausted, Nightmares, and a Threat

It has been roughly a week since we found the prophecy scroll, and I am beyond exhausted. I have been having nightmares every night, and surprisingly I have not woken up Lucas by screaming. So every night I am reliving everything that has ever happened to me. Midnight says that I should talk to Lucas, and I should have done it immediately.

Since Lucas has been telling me to rest, I have not gotten out of bed, unless it is to go to the bathroom. Right now he is in his office trying to get caught up on pack work, so I do not want to be a burden to him.

Midnight: Natalie, please tell Lucas what is going on. You do realize that this is not good for you or me.

Me: No, he is busy. I will not be a burden on anyone anymore.

Midnight: if you do not tell him, and soon, I will tell Dom. And you know that he will tell Lucas.

Me: I will think about it.

After telling her this, I blocked her out. There is no way I will tell Lucas what is going on. With that last thought, I curled up and snuggled into the blankets and fell asleep.

~~Nightmare~~

Today had been a long day at school, which is normal for me. I was walking up the stairs to the house after school let out, and when I got to the front door I was grabbed from behind. They placed one hand on my mouth, to stop me from screaming, and the other went around my waist and lifted me off my feet. Once they had me lifted, they started walking towards the back of the house where the forest line was. At this point I was doing everything I could to get away from whoever this person was.

"Stop struggling." A male voice said. As soon as I heard his voice, I knew it was Tyler. "You are going to enjoy this." He continued darkly.

Slowly the hand that he had around my waist moves up to my left breast, and squeezed harshly. The pain from this made me let out a little scream. I am so scared, this has never happened to me before. I am used to harsh words and beatings, not this.

Finally coming to my senses, I used my right foot to kick his shine hard enough for him to stop walking. Then I threw my head back and heard something crack. However, I did not stay long enough to see the damage I had caused to him.

~~Nightmare End~~

My eyes snapped open as tears slid down my face. I am just going to have to force myself to stay awake from now on, I thought.

*Midnight*

Goddess, I love Natalie but she is slowly killing us by staying silent. Time for me to act on the threat I made her. I know she is going to be angry with me, but this is for the both of us.

Me: Dom?

Dom: Yes, my Queen?

Me: Oh, do not even start. I need you to let Lucas know something. Natalie has been keeping quiet about something for a week and a half.

Dom: Is she okay? What is going on?

Me: She has been having nightmares every night and when she takes a nap. She says she does not want to be a burden to anyone anymore. But she is so exhausted that if we shifted now it would take longer, and be a lot more painful.

Dom: I will let him know right now. Thank you for letting me know love.

I knew he was already relaying what was said. Now it is just a matter of time before Lucas comes to the rescue. I just hope that Natalie will actually talk to Lucas. I know this will help her, or at least I think it will.

Dom: I let him know what is going on. He is not really happy that she did not let him know, but he understands.

Me: Thank you for telling him. She has been through so much already, she does not need anymore pain.

Dom: I know, and neither do you. Are you going through the nightmares as well with her?

Me: Unfortunately, yes. I also go through the flashbacks with her as well. However, she is also reliving the pain, but I do not experience that pain.

Dom: We will figure something out. There has to be something that can help.

Me: I think that she just needs to tell Lucas. She just woke up from a nightmare not too long ago, this one is almost reoccurring.

Dom: Can you tell me about it, I may be able to do something or at least try to.

Me: I want to, but I do not know if she will hate me for saying anything. I already know she is going to be mad that I made good on my threat to inform you.

Dom: I understand. I know you two have a really good connection, and I do not want you to mess that up.

Me: Thank you for understanding.

Dom: You're welcome baby. I cannot wait until you guys shift. I am ready to run in the forest with you.

Me: Same here, but unless Natalie gets her nightmares under control, I will be trying to hold it off.

Dom: Won't that hurt you in the process?

Me: It might, but she will not be able to handle that much pain. It is already going to be bad since she is older than others who have had their first shift.

Dom: Do not do that unless you have to. You know Natalie would want to take that pain, that way you do not have to.

Me: I know, but I want to be able to protect her from the pain for once. I was not able to do it before, and if I can now I will.

I cut off the link before he could try to talk me out of taking any pain away from Natalie by hold off the shift. I know it will hurt me, but she has been through so much already. I would rather be an ordinary wolf than her experience unnecessary pain.
