Preparations and Exportations

What had dropped from the skeleton, shocked me. A small ring made from small bones. From what I know, it gives +1 or +2 durability, depending on the rarity of the drop. You could also upgrade and limit breakable items. However, with an item with such low stats, it was only used by trainees or for extra protection.

However, I wouldn't know if it gave +1 or +2 stats in dexterity, as only an appraisal station could give me its approximate stats. Usually, you'd have to register it with the government, which would then track its usage. However, I didn't think that they'd let me keep it; they'd rather give it to a person who had unlocked their skill, as they'd have more use for it.

I quickly took the cold item off the ground, slipped it on my pointer finger, and jogged away so as not to attract a crowd in the distance. I then quickly made my way into the library, took my black jacket, and made my way out of the library, the August winds flowing through my dark black hair.

As I entered the orphanage, I rushed into the halls to see how many durability points it gave by testing it. Opening the door, I stepped inside and sat in an old wooden chair near my desk. I grabbed my only pencil from my bag and lightly pressed it on my skin. Still, I felt nothing, and then, pressing it with all of my might, I only felt an itching. The word "Amazing" came out of my mouth. I was certain this would surely aid me in the future, one way or another.

I then left my room, headed towards the mess hall, and sat on the furthest bench and started eating my rice with meat. It was an enjoyable meal. After doing so, I left the Orphanage to train more, and after reaching a suitable spot near a large oak tree, I took it off my finger and placed it in my zipper pocket, which I then zipped in order to not lose the item. Items dropped by monsters were difficult to get after all.

When the sun started setting, I headed back into the Orphanage, went to my room, and finally went to sleep, hoping that I would have a peaceful rest.

I woke up to the sun rising over the horizon and creeping over the windowsill. I was surprised; this night I hadn't had a nightmare at all; I had somehow managed to have a nice sleep for a long while.

I took my time today, thinking about the next 2 days in which I would be transported to the Hunter Academy. They had sent me a letter instructing me to have all of my belongings prepared before they were to pick me up. I had also been thinking long and hard about the people that I may have to face, as I probably would if I were to pursue my goal of becoming the strongest.

I only knew of a few prominent or powerful people in my grade, like Mayleen Aranea, known for her string ability as well as being part of the Aranea family, one of the strongest families in Canada at the moment. Another person in my grade that I'd have to look out for would be Oliver Orion, who could control the earth and was also part of a powerful family, The Orion family.

They are also both heirs or esses to their families, which gives them access to knowledge usually not available to the average person. On the other hand, I couldn't only watch out for them after all; out of so many people in the academy, surely there must be a few who are much stronger.

I then got up, stretched, dressed, and left for the mess hall.

After finishing my food, I went outside for my exercise routine, and after finishing, I went back inside the orphanage. Preparing to leave a few days early wouldn't hurt.

(Time Skip: 2 days)

All ready, I mentally told myself as I looked at my dull and old room at the Orphanage. Today was the day that they would pick me up. I left my old room behind as I walked down the halls and stepped outside with my hair and shirt flowing in the cool August breeze. I leaned against the nearby wall, and after a while of waiting, a grey bus pulled up in front of the Orphanage with open doors. I made my way to it when the driver with a monotone voice asked, "You're Cassian Sps?

We were almost here, or so I thought. I had underestimated the number of people that had to be picked up; so far, I was the only person on the couch bench. Everyone that passed by me had looks of disgust; wearing obvious orphanage clothes had not given people a good impression of me.

I had a feeling that something like this would happen; even throughout the years, the pecking order of social classes in society were still around. However, I wouldn't let it deter me from my goal—my goal to survive in this cruel world.

Srry about not posting this chapter, I had a lot of things to do for the end of my school year. For those who enjoyed the 1st and 2nd chapter you should expect more coming out very soon as it's summer break.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions or find any mistakes in my work, please tell me as I'd like to improve the reading expirence of yourself and others.
