Dominos Fall

When Shadowness opened her eyes, she found herself in the hospital. Heavily injured. There was enormous pain flowing through her body, as she felt severe broken bones that hadn't been healed. This puzzled her, because hospitals could heal such injuries in the modern era, so why was she still injured?

Her eyes settled on a man in a black suit, wearing black sunglasses, reading documents from a folder. When he noticed the woman had woken up, the man smiled.

"Madam, your face doesn't match any of our registered ID? As an ability user, don't you think that is weird?" He asked in faux confusion. "Oh, I apologize, let me introduce myself. I am from the Security Di...?"

Shadowness didn't even wait for an instant. The moment she heard the word Security, she opened her mouth and her tongue turned into an elongated shadow sword that pierced through the Security Division official's head. Causing him to fall over. She realized why she hadn't been healed. It was so she couldn't escape, but the division had underestimated the flexibility of her abilities.

She quickly turned into a complete shadow and began travelling through surfaces, until she reached the window and passed out through the gap between the window and the frame. Even in the shadow form, the movement was extremely painful. Thinking about the bad luck that had fallen upon her in the past few days, she cursed Cody and she cursed the homicidal driver of that van.

A few minutes after Shadowness escaped the hospital, the head of the Security Division officer began self healing and all wounds completely disappeared. He sat up while touching his forehead with a bitter smile. "That was painful." He said eventually as he got up and pressed alert on his phone.

He walked over to the security room of the hospital, unhurried. Looking through the camera recordings, the man smiled. "Looks like it really is her. This woman was mingling with that blue haired brat? Even the Snake Gang's sketch of the woman seems to match up."

He quickly made a call. "Change level of the suspect to prime suspect. Notify the Reformation Division that she is the one we are looking for, send the trackers out to follow her. Let us have a look at her backers."

Adrian was returning home from the training center. He had gotten used to jog home from the center instead of taking a transport. His vigilance was, as was usual these days, high. He wasn't stupid. With Cody on the lose and himself being the primary testimony that led to his being labelled a criminal, the blue haired boy might spring up to attack him.

He figured that his dad wasn't stupider than himself and would have a secretive security following him behind the scenes. Thus he tried to ensure that he didn't do anything suspicious and interfere in things that he wasn't supposed to during this period.

After he reached home, he calmed down. "I was panicking for no reason." Adrian murmured to himself.

"Hehe, not quite." A crazed voice sprung out from the corner of the room. Adrian turned to see Cody, sitting on the chair, his body distorted. Some parts filled with muscle, his lips drooling like a rabid dog and his eyes catatonically shifting directions from edge to edge.

"What... what the hell are you doing here?" Adrian screamed.

Cody got up and walked towards Adrian. "You are a really sneaky one eh? Were you trying to alert someone by shouting? I must pity you. There's not a single soul protecting you. They all rushed away to capture that Shadowy bitch."

"What? What do you mean?" Adrian said as he tumbled backwards, attempting to put distance between himself and Cody.

"Did you think you'd go unpunished for ruining my life? If it wasn't for that drug, I wouldn't become like this. You and that shadowy bitch are both going to die at my hands." Cody cackled and laughed. Without any doubt, his mind had been overtaken by madness.

Adrian stumbled his way towards the window, but Cody jumped over powerfully and punched Adrian in the face before he could even respond. A powerful impact struck his jaw, causing him to feel incredible pain that blinded him. Adrian crashed into the window, shattered the glass and flew out of the window, downwards six stories.

"Is this how I die?" Adrian wondered hazily. His self defense training which he practiced diligently, felt worthless in the face of pure raw power.

Adrian felt weightless as he fell downwards under the force of gravity. He closed his eyes and stopped thinking. His life flashing before his mind's eye.

However, the next moment, he felt his body cocooned by a liquid that halted his rapid descent and gently lay him down on the asphalt. Adrian struggled to open his eyes due to his distorted face, to see the student council president Lear standing beside him along with four others.

"Don't worry, we'll protect you." Adrian heard Lear say.

Yet, a loudly laugh was heard from atop the apartment building. A crazy Cody jumped down without any hesitation.

"You fools are overestimating yourselves!" Cody screamed as he targetted Adrian's body on the ground from.the sky.

Lear turned serious, And large cushions of water began to form from thin air, trying to protect Adrian. Janice used her hands to send supersonic mechanical vibrations towards Cody. Her eyes filled with cold disgust as she looked at Cody's deformed body.

Wheeler immediately rushed towards Adrian's side and formed a physical meat shield to protect him.

However, Cody's mutated power could indeed not be underestimated. His body shirked off the vibrations like it was nothing, even it caused some internal damage and blood trickled down his lips. His fist crashed through the water, shattering the barrier it created through sheer force combined with the gravitational force aiding him, before using his swollen and deformed left hand to make a sideways swipe at Wheeler, smashing him horizontally in the distance and using his right hand to directly smash into the abdomen of the helpless Adrian and his tough forehead smashed into Adrian's face, before he tumbled sideways and rolled away before standing.

He looked at the hole in Adrian's stomach, at the dismayed and horrified look on the faces of the student council, and laughed. He laughed like a crazy mad man.
