Dark and gloomy.
It was the things which could describe the portal. It had the color of pitch and absolutely no sound, at all.
'MOMMYY!!!' I let out a scream as I slipped at one point and fell. Instead of landing in a harsh, perhaps muddy bark, I kept plummeting. The moment was single-handedly one of the most terrifying experiences in my life, and it's a big saying when you spend half of your life as a human and the rest as an eerie.
While falling, I silently prayed to the God to forgive my sins and probably grant me heaven even though I had my fair share of wrongdoings, which includes stealing jellybeans of the elderly grandma who once lived a house away from us (I shed a tear at the memory), and ruining some prestigious school's fields (which I wasn't very proud of).
I kept falling and falling, and falling, and falling-until I saw light.
Wait, light?
Surely the thin streak of brightness wasn't my illusion. It was light! the symbol of living!
