A WITCH FOR THE HYBRID

In the face of adversity, a pack of werewolves and a tribe of witches form an alliance to defeat their great enemy, an army of vampires and rogue werewolves, led by Lance, a rogue wolf. For hundreds of years, the alliance remained, with the witches and werewolves living in peace. But trouble returns when the descendants of Lance return to the land to reclaim it and get vengeance for their Father's death. Things get even more dramatic when Ralph, the alpha of the wolf pack, and Dylan, a hybrid created by Lance, and the head of the gang of vampires, fall in love with the same woman. A powerless witch.

Alpha's arms

For a moment, Kayla found herself lost in Ralph's beautiful brown eyes. He was looking straight into her eyes!

Kayla still couldn't believe it. She had never gotten this close to Ralph before! For all the years since she had been attending the ceremony, she had always watched him from afar. He always seemed so distant, so unattainable! Yet, here she was, in his arms. In the arms of the almighty alpha, Ralph! The leader of the wolf pack and the lord of the alliance. She was in his arms, and his face was so close to hers! He was staring straight at her!

It was an accident, yes. But this has to be a miracle.

Kayla wanted to stay like that forever. There was no way she wanted to leave the alpha's arms now that she was there by some miracle.

But then, Kayla was suddenly reminded of the reality around them when she heard voices murmuring. She flinched and quickly pulled away from Ralph's hold, but in so doing, she knocked her forehead against his as she was hurrying to get away from him.

"Awww!" She winced in pain as she put a hand to her forehead, and pressed on it to prevent a swell.

"Sorry." She apologized to the alpha, looking up at him, while still massaging her head.

But Ralph didn't respond. He didn't seem bothered or affected by the collide, he looked perfectly fine. Instead, he just stood there, staring at Kayla with a strange look in his eyes, as if he was trying to figure something out about her.

Kayla looked around in confusion, then she felt allover her face and head to see if she had something on that made Ralph seem so curious.

"I'm sorry." She said again, just in case he had not heard her the first time, and that was why he was looking at her with that question in his eyes, because he expected an apology.

Ralph still did not say anything. He just kept looking at Kayla in silence. The awkward moment was already causing a scene and people were slowly beginning to gather around and they were most probably wondering why the alpha was standing in the middle of his yard, staring at an insignificant witch girl. Kayla was beginning to feel uncomfortable and a little bit embarrassed.

Finally, Ralph spoke.

"Be more careful when you walk." He said and flashed Kayla a gentle smile, then he walked away. Even as he made his way into his house through the crowd of people who had made way to let him through, Ralph looked back at Kayla one more time, just before he entered the mansion.

Kayla stood frozen to the spot where she had been standing, gazing after the alpha as he walked away. Between the two of them, she was the witch, at least in name. But in that moment, watching Ralph walk away, Kayla felt bewitched, by Ralph.

That beautiful smile. It had been so brief , but it was long enough to remain in her memory for an eternity, and she knew that she would go another lifetime replaying this moment in her head.

The alpha had held her in his arms! The alpha had smiled at her! No, that was unforgettable.

Kayla sighed wishfully as she watched Ralph walk away.

"Kayla! You fell into the arms of the alpha!" Kate cried as she came up to Kayla's side, holding the latter's hand. "You were in his arms for a total of thirty seconds, and then he was looking straight at you for another thirty seconds!" She cried. "Baby sis, you had the Alpha's attention for a full minute!" Kate cried, jumping and screaming excitedly.

Kayla returned back to reality as she turned to her sister.

"What?" She muttered, still a bit absent minded.

"You were with the alpha just now, the leader of the pack! Didn't you know? Did you not recognize him?" Kate asked her.

How could she not recognize him? Even in her dreams, Kayla would recognize Ralph anywhere. Kayla would never admit to having a crush on anybody. She didn't care about men, at least, ordinary men. Ralph was a god! So it was safe to say that she didn't have a crush on an ordinary man after all! She was crushing on a god-like alpha. Seeing Ralph during the ceremony was one of the little things that made her happy through the perilous nights of every ceremony she had ever attended. There was no way she would not recognize Ralph anywhere, anytime.

"But, what was he doing out here though?" Tiana asked. "The ceremony begins in about half an hour, and he was just arriving. Why?"

Kate began to answer her, but Kayla was not paying attention to anything they had to say. She was caught up in her own world, with Ralph, in his arms, engulfed in his scent. Just the two of them. She was smiling dreamily.

"He was accompanied by an army of guards. You think there is trouble?" Tiana asked.

"I really don't know, and I don't care right now. All I know is that the leader of the wolf pack held my sister in his arm for a total of one minute." Kate said, grinning broadly. "Everyone has to hear about this! We'll finally start getting some attention around here." She winked at Tiana.

"Kayla,  I told you to dress up a little better today! I begged you to wear a new dress, at least. I even offered you one of mine, but you refused. Now see! Who knew that you would be running into the alpha today? And you met him in a dress you have been wearing forever now! You should have listened to me! If I had known, I would have looked into the future, and then force a new dress on you!" Kate chided Kayla.

"Let's go in." Tiana urged them. "The ceremony is about to begin and there seems to be a storm coming." She said, and they joined the rest of the crowd, moving into the mansion.
