A Wish Half Granted to Conquer the World

On the day of my high school reunion, I was almost killed in a car accident. I had saved the queen bee of my class that day. As a reward, the queen bee, who was 'a child favored by God,' offered to reincarnate me. So I made a wish. [Please let me be reborn in a different world with special powers and great looks!] But when I opened my eyes, my wish was only half-granted. It wasn't reincarnation, but possession. The 'special power' was just a breathing technique I had created in middle school. And I had a body covered in burn scars. [Please take back all the powers.] But somehow, I came to learn the truths of this new world and gained other powers as well, and now I'm on my way to conquer the world?! Can I really do it...?

"...Lost it?"

When Hee-kyung pointed at the bastard child, the knights thought he had gone mad.

The target was just some burnt bastard child?

"No."

Hee-kyung drew his sword and gripped it with both hands.

"Damn. Don't wanna agree with this punk Hee-kyung but yeah, that guy's not human."

Yet the one who hated Hee-kyung the most, Hyeon-hyu, was concurring with him, holding his broken sword.

"The goal if possible...is capture."

"Got it for now."

The knights decided to follow Hee-kyung's words first.

Among them, Hee-kyung was the strongest, and following the strongest was the natural law of this world.

Even if they didn't understand, listening to the strongest Hee-kyung was obvious to them.

"Oh really?"

But at the voice coming from the bastard child's grinning mouth, goosebumps rose on the knights' bodies.

And they understood Hee-kyung and Hyeon-hyu's words.

That kind of voice likely didn't belong to a human.

"Swords don't work on him."

"Broke my sword. Don't know what power he has."

Hearing Hee-kyung and Hyeon-hyu, they all tensely gripped their swords.

Just as they wondered if capture was possible—

-Boom!

The bastard kicked off the ground and easily leapt over the knights.

Impossibly high, as if flying towards the pale moon in the sky.

"Madman."

Swearing, the knights swiftly kicked off the earth.

They had to give chase.

Those ignorant would ridicule and mock them for letting a mere bastard escape.

-Crash!!!

The bastard who had flown up fell back down, crashing loudly into a building.

"That's, over there!"

"The main building!"

The main building.

Where the family head and first, second, and third children were.

Based on the location he had fallen...

"Third young lady Ji Soo-hyeon's room!"

As the knights guessed, the bastard had crashed into the room of the third daughter.

Ji Soo-hyeon, preparing for bed, could not believe the current situation.

A loud boom, and a bastard wrapped in bandages had appeared by bursting through the roof out of nowhere.

"Just what are you...?"

"..."

Wasn't he on the verge of death?

How did he break through the ceiling and appear before her eyes?

"Doesn't matter."

Scoffing, Ji Soo-hyeon gathered her energy.

Her violet hair fluttered with crackling noises, and her violet eyes glinted brightly.

-Zzzzt!

"How dare a trash like you save me? Better I had died than be saved by filth like you! Now I have to live a life looked down on for being rescued by you bastards!!"

As Ji Soo-hyeon motioned at the bastard child, the violet lightning took shape into a bird and flew at him.

"Die!"

She had no doubts her power would fry the bastard to death.

She was just thinking about how to clean up her dirtied room because of his corpse when she had to halt her thoughts.

-Zzzt...zzzt.

The violet lightning bird hit the bastard child but his body didn't burn or get blasted away, just disappeared.

Without a trace.

"Why...? How...?"

Her mumbled words were answered by the bastard child's voice, sending chills down Ji Soo-hyeon's body.

"This is...fun."

Giggling, the bastard, no, the one seeming like a demon slowly approached Ji Soo-hyeon.

"Ah, no! Don't come! Don't come!"

Ji Soo-hyeon felt the second wave of terror.

The first was when she had almost died in the flames. And now, terror that she might be killed by someone her powers had no effect on.

"Uh, ah...!"

Watching him slowly approach, Ji Soo-hyeon eventually fainted.

And the clothes she wore grew damp.
