Chapter 26 Attack on the pack

Emily's pov

After getting the clothes from the boy and thanking him. I took a shower and changed Samson joined me giving me a massage. we took our time washing each other. After our shower, I looked into Samsons eyes and said "I am sorry for your father." He hugged me whispering a thanks and pulled me back to the bed where we made love for the first time since finding each other once again until we fell asleep in each other's arms. We woke to the sounds of people screaming "were under attack!!" We bolted from our bed and sleep. It was only 7:30 at night the sun had set only an hour ago. I looked to Samson who then stepped out the door of our room. I could see through the doorway from the bed people were running frantically back and forth with purpose, some carrying items others just walking with great haste. Samson reached for the nearest passerby who happened to be a very young-looking man 17 or 19 perhaps by looks. The young man stopped and growled at Samson's outstretched hand. All the same, it had gotten his attention seeing we had come from the bedroom and still Samson was half-dressed the growling coming from the young man. He didn't allow Samson closer but seeing us both seemed to calm him and he recognized what room had been announced by Gerold we would be staying into the pack.

Samson ran to the door and asked "Who is attacking? What's going on?" Samson asked the young wolf. The young wolf at first just stared at Samson with a scowl I decided to step up and join Samson in my night robe I stood and walked next to Samson. "Please," I whispered and gave him expression to the young boy this seemed to placate the young man and he answered, "We are under attack by vampires". I didn't appreciate the way he said, vampires. Samson next asked "where is the alpha where is Gerold?" after giving us an appraising look the young man answered "He is preparing for battle on the first floor." He looked at Samson suspiciously then nervous that he had even answered. We thanked the young man for the information and shut the bedroom door and quickly dressed.

Looking at me Samson said, "we need together all of us my mother your father all of us together, and see what we can do to help and stay close in case we need to leave quickly." I nodded in agreement and we raced out the door. We set ourselves in a quick search of alpha Gerold's war room as it was called. They were located on the first floor in the office space though we found him upon descending the stairs on the bottom ordering his men about and helping guard the women and children going into hiding. Descending upon him I quickly asked Gerold "what can we do to help?" He looked at me then over our group "you women" he said "can go to the bunker with the other non-warriors as for you Samson and Tyler and Anderson was it you can stay here with us I may need some insight I may find it invaluable in this battle tonight. I may need your tactical skills as well." The men nodded in agreement to assist them alpha Gerold looked grateful but continued to scowl.

I then notice a beautiful pregnant woman a female wolf standing by a wall under the staircase. I walked to her allowing the men to deal with the battle. "Where are we to hide?" I asked her with charlotte holding my hand next to me the pregnant she-wolf smiled gently at us. "come with me; I am the Luna of this pack Gerold's mate sorry were being introduced under such circumstance I had planned to introduce you and all of us at a banquet tonight but as you see plans have changed. My name is Enola, quickly now follow me watch your heads and your step it's dark down here. I smiled gratefully at Enola and into the underground room we went.

There were many women here with children of all ages when they saw charlotte and I could see more fear enter their already terrified eyes. Then, Enola, their luna announced "these are the guest I told you of this at this morning's meeting Emily and charlotte." They nodded some begrudgingly but respectfully all the same as the luna obviously viewed us as friends.

Gerolds' pov

We knew that war and battles were inevitable since the arrival of Samson, and his mate; and after what they had told me and the rumors of what had happened with James. It was inevitable I just wish were more prepared. How did they even get in our territory so deeply without alerting our watch? Which I had tripled our watch since coming upon Samson and welcoming the rightful king of vampires.

I would look to that later now we must fight them off. My sentries were already started in fending them off but the number of vampires was too much for a mere 40 werewolves to 100 vampires. I set my warriors to make ready as we looked over makes to strategize our best line of defense and possible counterattack. When Samson joined us though many of my wolves sneered at him I welcomed his help.

Though he could touch silver he couldn't touch my pack's weapons. Our bullets had UV and vervain. So him using our weapons to help was out of the question and impossible for him. The best help he could provide is pointing out weaknesses and inside vampire trade secrets but this meant betraying his own kind. I wouldn't ask that of him though I preferred knowing a fair way to fight or outwit them as I didn't wish to kill his people.

Samson's pov

I didn't wish to help attack my own kind but these were my brother's men and there was no choice. He was starting a war I swear James will pay not just with his life but with his mothers as well. They would not and could not win. Though I had a feeling this was still yet the beginning.
