Adah entered her office and closed the door before calling on Mrs Randolph. She sat down and looked at the two files on the pending tray and turned to her computer to log into the network system of the empire. She adjusted herself on the executive seat and looked at the screen of her system, she came to the file she was looking for and opened it. She knows that all the household manufacturing companies have never faulted in their various operations. However, she wants to increase efficiency. As she read through the online documents, Mrs Randolph entered her office and greeted politely. Adah waved her to the seat in front of her and smiled broadly.

"I got the report that production was delayed for three hours at the sugar production plant yesterday..." she started softly looking at the older lady as if searching for answers.

"Yes, that's exactly what happened. It was solely for maintenance purposes because our new conveyers needed worked on and fixed." She said with eyes on the chief.

" Did anyone reached out to the engineers to confirm the details?" She asked looking back at her.

Yes... I think the report of the company managing director was submitted this morning and it will get to you through your personal assistant." She answered.

"I think there will be an unscheduled visit to the sugar plant tomorrow. I will call on one of the founding members to lead the delegation. It will simply be a fact finding mission." She said and relaxed back into her seat as Mrs Randolph simply nodded in agreement.

" Please tidy up your table because you will be going out with me at about noon for an important meeting outside this complex." Adah said looking back at her system. Mrs. Randolph nodded in acceptance and stood up to leave the office but was stopped by the chief.

"Please keep this to yourself... it's very important." She said with a broad smile as Mrs Randolph smiled back and left the office. As she left, Adah informed the control department that she wants to have a video discussion with the Managing director of the sugar plant. Three minutes later, she was politely demanding answers from the Managing director. After his explanations, Adah asked him to forward all the details especially the details of the engineers that fixed the conveyers. He apologized but maintained that it was needed that the conveyers be fixed since it was highly recommend by the engineers. Adah stood up and sighed deeply before leaving the office. How can production be put on hold and she was informed in the middle of such exercise. She seriously wants to know who gave them the orders to do so? She walked into the elevator and pressed the tenth floor. The lift came to a halt on the required floor by the chief and the doors were opened, she came out and made her way to Mrs Metus office. As she entered, every thing stood still. She acknowledged greetings from the staff around and made her way to Mrs Metus office. Adah met her busy on the system and greeted before she was asked to sit. She made same observation to Mrs Metu who revealed that the managing director has such powers though he made a mistake for not first informing her. Adah smiled at her and demanded to take her leave but within her she smelt a conspiracy. She came back to her office and decided to call on Munah who was very busy preparing her speech for the international Denson empire conference for junior managers and directors. She entered and locked the door. He looked up and saw her face, she was not looking as he expected. He quickly rushed to meet her. She collapsed into his arms and said nothing. Without been told, he knew that she is disturbed.

"I learnt that a report was submitted to you to forward to me..." she started without looking at him.

"No... there was no report. The personnel department was misinformed." He said looking at her with care. Adah looked at him and remained calm knowing that he has more to say and tell her.

" They are not being quite sincere. I gathered that it was as a result of the looming misunderstanding between the factory workers and the administration department that warranted that shutdown. The workers were not paid for their overtime." Munah explained looking at Adah who took it all in.

"How did you know all these?" Adah asked in her usual soft voice.

"My neighbours who works at the factory but never know that I work with the empire." Munah said looking at her.

I don't know what to believe anymore... " She said wonderingly as Munah sat up and showed her his files for the day that should be sent to her office. She went through them all in one glance and said nothing.

" Someone is trying to be quite funny over there and if not checked, I think it will be something that we can not be fit to explain at the end." Munah said

" Then what do you suggest we do?" She asked looking worried.

" Let there be a surprise overhaul among all the management staff. This should be thorough and extensive." Munah said looking at the computer before him. Adah was quiet for a while before her phone rang. She picked the call and spoke for a minute promising to call back later when it is convinient. With this call, she reckoned that the doctor may have completed the assignment thereby waiting for her approval. She turned and looked at Munah who was still busy and wondered whether he will be able to meet up with their next meeting at Palm springs. With what he said, she know of someone that can restructure the system especially the the factories. Without waste of time she dailed a number. As she discussed with Mr Kindle, Munah paid less attention as he finished her speech and started working on the proposals for Adah's project since they will be having a meeting by noon. He finished and checked her schedules for the week, made some suggestions and corrections and forwarded it to her email and office page. He also ensured that she is reminded of each of them about an hour to the time so that she can give her final approval. He looked up from his computer and observed that she is still on the phone and checked the time before standing up and moved to the fridge yearning for a drink. Adah came forward and demanded for a drink too and as they feasted on the bottle of water, Adah wondered on how shocking it will be at the news of restructuring the organization especially the production section of the empire.

"Mr Kindle has accepted to do the restructuring on the companies. I will call on Mrs Randolph to send all the soft files of that section and their various units to me so that we can forward it to him." Adah said finishing the water in her glass as she looked at him.

"You did well to have called him to do it... Munah said and looked at her intently for a while, she removed her eyes and made to leave but he held her back by the hand and brought her close to him.

" I love you... I seriously do and please I am not neglecting you. I know you want us to be together but I will be available after our meeting at Palm springs." He said while she said nothing but looked up to stare into his eyes for a while.

"Running this massive organization is a big deal of a responsibility, I know it can be quite tiring but I want you to be strong. The empire is not doing badly and with or without you this organization will still record more success and break new grounds. So please my love learn to rest so to be refreshed." Munah said with a smile as he admired her

"Rest without you is quite incomplete, you know that," she said softly. He smiled and held her hands.

" Don't with, soonest I will marry you and God helping me, I will gladly be with you and take care of you." He said squeezing her hands.She smiled and turned to leave. She opened the door and walked to her office feeling alive once again.

She sat down on her seat and saw the messages on her screen and heaved. Two was from Munah while the other one was from Mrs Randolph. She went through them and minuted on Munah's messages before sending it back to him after saving a copy for herself. She went through the records sent by Mrs Randolph and quickly forward them to Me Kindle to commence work upon. She was all smiles when after three minutes he sent her an acknowledgement message and promised to be done in about four days which Adah appreciated. She smiled again as she remembered Munah's words and with his thought in her mind, she realized that she has not called the doctor. She quickly dailed the number which after they were connected first apologized to the doctor. He told her that all is set for Munah's mother to be flown overseas for intensive medical care. He also informed that it will be most likely that the woman will undergo a kidney transplant. She remained speechless for a while before thanking the doctor before they disconnected. She immediately called on the head of the transportation department. She inquired of the worthiness of her mother's private jet to fly the next day. She got the good news and demanded for one of the finest qualified pilots to take the responsibility of flying Munah's mother abroad. The head of the department assured that it will be done first thing tomorrow morning and they hung up. Just as she dropped the phone, Munah entered the office looking radiant as usual.
