That woman's name was Gretchen Barcroft.

When Gretchen heard Kyla ask Veronica if Veronica could translate the audio file, she realized that Kyla wanted Veronica to translate this audio file. Gretchen sneered.

"Ms. Randolph, if I remember correctly, today is Veronica's first day here. And she is still a college student. Are you sure you want her to translate this audio file? You must be kidding, right?"

"Gretchen, I just want to tell you that you are not the only one in this company who can translate this audio file. You can't use this as a bargaining chip to blackmail the company into acceding to your unreasonable demands!" Kyla said coldly.

Gretchen snorted.

"Kyla, is it too much for me to ask for a raise and an extra day off every week? I am an ordinary translator anymore. Do you know how many companies would offer me a job?"

"We'll agree to a reasonable raise, but your request is out of line. You asked the company to double your salary. That's impossible."
