NUTELLA JAR

Great! Just super great. The wind decides to play as I feel a cool breeze in my skirt and when I process what is happening I realize my skirt is blown up and I quickly pull it down embarrassed beyond comprehension. I should have never worn a skirt.

To make everything worse a guy who was behind me passes me with a polite smile and a 'sorry miss ' and then snickers fill the street from some guys I passed by some few steps back. Ones who made cat calls and I ignored. Some amigos with hair cut short, wearing white vests , massive tattoos and really handsome faces.

I'm usually scared of guys hanging around in a group making cat calls at every girl that passes. I mean, how do I walk? I could trip on my shoes any minute. Why do guys do that?

At this point, I can't even be embarrassed any more and I wish to find a hole I will crawl into and just die. I take faster steps almost running into a car while crossing the street.

I'm walking so fast that I don't realize I just walked into a Walmart. Regaining my composure, I walk in and take a trolley dragging it to the nearest shelves of snacks. Shortcakes and shortcakes and shortcakes. Ugh! I don't want those for a long time since I had a little episode with those sugary nightmares just last week when I ate a lot of them at a friend's and the rest is just embarrassing to even remember. Good times!

I push the trolley to another section which is kitchen spices and herbs where I don't pick anything either since I had done my shopping a few days back and so everything is pretty much new.

I move to a couple other shelves just looking at goodies. Several people passing me give me looks of 'girl you don't have better things to do? ' and I reply with looks of 'Mind your business ' or ' move along '

I know, I know. It's just people don't know how to mind their business. I'm not always mean to strangers , I more like ignore they are there so...

Obviously pushing a very big and very empty trolley around is also tiring so I decide to return it to where I took it from, passing by a girl with a tired looking guy she is clung to whom I presume is her boyfriend. She gives me a look I could get a cardiac arrest if I was faint hearted.

Well, here is the thing and don't judge me, so she wanted to exchange the trolley with me having to take the shopping basket the guy was carrying which was fuller than full and obviously she was still shopping. She was to take the trolley. I had refused claiming I was picking a lot of things from shelves ahead.

I mean, seriously, the carts are at the entrance and they are not sold so why didn't she pick one for herself. I know I said I'm not mean to strangers and I mean it, not usually, but I don't like people taking advantage of me. Okay so I realize I should stop this rant when I still can.

I should have mentioned changing my route towards exit since with the arrangement of shelves if I still walked straight I would risk the girl boring holes at the back of my head. I'm passing shelves in a hurry too when I stopped abruptly the corner of my eye picking up something.

I abandoned my trolley and rushed back to grab a jar but instead half my hand was on another hand and the force of both of us reaching for the Nutella jar shook the shelf. Some peanut butter and jelly jars fall to the floor, some breaking.

I quickly turned in annoyance to face the someone who dared cross my path. Breathing fire and brimstone might I add. But seeing his face, made me almost withdraw my hand, take a step back and just stare at God's favorite creation. Almost! Damn! He has amazing dark eyes. Very black just out of bed like hair that looks so soft and shiny.

I quickly snap out of it when I remember he is the enemy! He had too been staring at me with a look I couldn't comprehend. Truth be told, I never really tell people's emotions just looking at their eyes or is it in?

Anyway, I do what I do best. Snap. I know how that sounds having already said I'm good with strangers. I promise I mostly am. Blink! Blink!

"Let go, I got to it first! " I said in a very high pitched angry voice I tend to have after not speaking for a while or just when annoyed.

"No, you let go! I held it first. " He said calmly in that deep voice of his as if my anger did nothing to him and it wound my ego. So I stomp on his foot as a second thing I would do and he yelps in pain then gives me a look that if looks could kill...

"You little piece of...   ."He said muttering the last part I didn't pick on. I was going to say something but he beat me to it... " Let go and I'll forget you did that. " Even calmer this time. Before I could respond an attendant who looked so pissed walked up to us and sized us up glaring.

"You are paying for those! "She said like we were so stupid and maybe a disgrace to humanity.

She was pointing at the floor we decorated with jam and peanut butter. Her eyes then landed on the jar we both held and she turned to us with a look of, 'You are unbelievable! ' and since she looked at me first I gave her a 'back off ' look which made her scowl even more and then she looked at the guy and her pupils narrowed. Her face was still agonizing to look at but for some reason slowly started softening.

The guy was giving an apologetic smile and I must say I really liked his lips curving that way. But no way I am letting the nutella go because it has been out of stock for a very long time and now here it was the last jar and I was leaving the place with it. And I don't shop online. Trust issues.

So I tried the argue and irritate my way out of it which worked... Not!  It's as if the guy too had sworn on his life to go with it. Right now I was so annoyed that I knew for sure veins popped on my skin as I argued, okay, let's say shouted at the guy. Grabbing attention of a lot of people around but I just didn't care at the moment.
