New Powers, Kinda (1/3).

While he waited, he tried to create a platform in air to stand on. It was surprisingly hard and used a lot more of this new power. Before it was automatic and required little to no effort on his side. You basically solidified the spiritual power around your feet and stood on it. Now his physical body also contributed to his powers. He could separate his chakra into it's two components but felt it would be better if he didn't. Rather he had extremely good, near perfect control over his new power.

'Hollows have extreme control over their bodies, which could be viewed as physical power, and Quincies have extreme control over Spiritual power in general. I'm both and more, is that why I have so little trouble in controlling this new power, which can be considered a combination of both?'

Again something he didn't really understand but that felt like the only answer. All the people in this world, be they civilians or shinobis, had something called chakra pathways in their bodies. For those with active chakra, these pathways allowed them to use different techniques and what they called jutsus. It could vary from reinforcing their bodies to breathing out fire. He was pretty sure he didn't have anything like that in his body.

As he was thinking and standing on air, trying to stabilize the spiritual platform he was on, a white haired kid with a white dog like mask arrived in front of him. He asked with a clear and no-nonsense voice.

"Kurosaki-san, the Hokage would like to know what happened here."

"Ah, I was trying a movement technique, I put too much power into it and crashed." Ichigo replied.

"Through a few dozen trees?"

If the boy was surprised, he didn't show it in his voice and asked with the same monotonous tone.

"As I said, I put too much power into it."

The boy seemed to think over it and asked another question.

"Are you standing on air Kurosaki-san?"

Again, if the boy was surprised, it didn't appear in his voice.

"Hmm, oh yes. Where I'm from all the fighters knew how to do it. Stand on air, walk on air, run on air is all possible. Most of our fights occurred in air to minimize civilian causalities and property damage."

That wasn't exactly true, he had caused a lot of collateral damage in all of his fights but these people didn't have to know that and the first one was kinda true in his case at least. While he had saved their leader and his family's life, there was no problem in giving them more reasons to not antagonize him.

While Ichigo was thinking about his own stuff, still standing on air, Kakashi was thinking about the man in front of him. He was the same age as Minato-sensei and just as powerful, if not more. Words of both Hokages, not his. The man was just as eye catching as his sensei with his bright orange-ish hair and large stature. The man was taller than his sensei and had sharper features whereas his sensei had more soft features.

But the thing that stood out to Kakashi the most were the eyes. They were similar to his. Both of them didn't know what to do with their lives. While he still had Minato-sensei and Kushina, baby Naruto as well, the man in front of him had lost everything. He wanted to talk more with him but currently he was Inu and on duty, perhaps he could come back as Kakashi and try to talk to the man. He was told to find anything he could about the man without antagonizing him.

"Thank you for answering the questions Kurosaki-san."

As Kakashi turned to leave, Ichigo stopped him and said,

"Can you tell me where I could find any books on chakra theories. Whether you believe it or not, I only unlocked my chakra a few months ago."

"I do not have clearance to tell you that, but I will relay your request to the Hokage."

That wasn't true. The Hatake clan had such books in their library but currently he was not Kakashi Hatake. Also the more the man owned Konoha, the better.

"Thank you."

Nodding his head, Kakashi vanished in a swirl of leaves.

He quickly made his way to the Hokages office and found the current and previous Hokage there with the Toad Sannin. He started giving his report when he was motioned to start.

"When I reached the crash site, he was standing on air, in the path of a few dozen uprooted trees. According to him, he put too much power into a movement technique and crashed." answered Kakashi.

Jiraiya interjected,

"He was standing on what?"

"He was standing on air. On asking for elaboration he said that all the fighters from where he was from knew how to do it and that it was done to minimize civilian casualties and property damage."

"He was standing on air. you are sure it was not an illusion?" asked Minato.

"Hai, before leaving, I used my Sharingan and he was still on air, on a strange platform made of chakra." replied Kakashi.

"Did he say how he was doing it?" Hiruzen asked, also intrigued.

"No, I didn't question him further."

"That was probably for the best. We don't know how he would react to questions about his powers." Minato replied after a moment of silence.

"But he said that every fighter from where he came from knew how to do it. Maybe we could negotiate something for this technique. It could prove advantageous." Jiraiya added.

"Did he say anything else?" Minato asked.

"Yes, he wanted books on advance chakra theory." Kakashi replied dutifully.

"Did he say why he wanted those books?" Minato questioned.

"According to him, his chakra was unlocked only a few months ago." Kakashi answered.

"That seems a bit ridiculous, but it would explain why he was unused to his strength." Minato thought out loud.

"Anything else?"

"If I may speak freely?" Kakashi asked.

"Go ahead."

"From what I could see, the man seems like he has lost everything and does not know what to do with his life. He has created an absurd goal to distract himself from that fact."

"Your Hokage and I have come to a similar conclusion." Hiruzen answered this one.

"For now tell him that Sandaime will meet him tomorrow evening at training ground 44." Minato said.

"Hai."

"How will you proceed with this, Sandaime-sama?" Minato asked after Kakashi left.

"For now we will go with what we talked about and Jiraiya can help him with his Chakra Theory."

"And learn anything I can on the boy, I understand. But I will not be in the village for long, the spy network is finally taking form, I need to handle it personally." Jiraiya added.

Ichigo on the other hand had gotten better at making platform in the air and had started running. Now he felt he should try Shunpo once again, but this time rather than going back and forth on the ground, he would do it in the air. So he put as much power as he could in his legs and jumped, once again breaking the sound barrier. It only took a few seconds to be nearly a kilo-meter high and create a stable platform to stand on.

So high in the air, he didn't need to worry about destroying anything and started flashing back and forth. It didn't take him long to realize that he could control his movements much more finely. He created a sword, similar to Tensa-Zangetsu and started swinging. Every swing created a gust of wind. He could also feel his new power, his chakra, wanting to enter the sword. He let it and what came out was a thin slash of pure chakra. It was smaller, sharper, more penetrating. He could pinpoint it with more accuracy. He decided to simply call it Fang.

Now he tried to use his hollow powers, but what he felt was staggering. If before he and his powers were like two Tigers living in the same mountain unable to co-exist until he accepted them, now they felt like a sleeping Dragon. Calm when asleep but devastating when woken up. 'But they are my powers. They will listen to me!'.

Making his mind up, he called them to the surface and immediately he felt the surroundings change. There was a burning smell in the air, the atmosphere was heavier. He looked at his body and it was covered in a rolling mass of blackness. The blackness was similar to when he used Final Getsuga Tenshou, but rather than only covering his lower body, his arms were also completely covered. He pulled his hair up front, they were still orange and short. He also felt the horn return to the left side of his skull. His chest had a similar black circle as well.

The power was still 'asleep'. It was not responding to him and he still felt incomplete, 'But that's because I am incomplete. Zangetsu is missing, he is a part of me.'

He stood there and reveled in the close connection this form provided him with his powers. He felt that in this state, his body was similar to when he was fighting Aizen after his Dangai training, but this time he still had his reiatsu. Suddenly his eyes flew wide open as he realized that he was releasing an extreme amount of pressure. Aizen's spiritual pressure was enough to fatally harm a normal human being from miles away.

He was releasing a similar amount of pressure very close to civilization. He quickly reigned in his powers and let his new form drop. He came to another, somewhat unimportant, realization that, his clothes that had vanished in his new form were back on him in one piece.

While Ichigo was experimenting with his new powers, Konoha was going through a crisis. The atmosphere had suddenly turned suffocating. For the civilians, it had gotten harder to breathe like the air was filled with thick smoke. To the shinobis, it felt like they were in front of their worst enemy and unable to do anything. The only one who knew this feeling was Hiruzen who had seen and felt the First Hokage completely release the hold on his chakra while creating the forest around Konoha. But as suddenly as the feeling came, it vanished just as quickly.

"It seems our guest got a bit carried away." Hiruzen said grimacing, this would result in further objections on Ichigo's stay.

"You mean that was due to Kurosaki Ichigo?" Minato asked.

"Yes, I believe it was. Not many know but I was there when Hashirama-sama created the forest around Konoha. He completely let go of the chakra inside him and it created a similar feeling of suffocation. You can't forget that feeling. It was very similar to what we just felt." Hiruzen replied, reminiscing.

"It was also similar to Kyuubi's, but whereas Kyuubi's chakra contained extreme hatred, this one carried with it nothing. Just pure pressure." Minato said after some thought.

"From how quickly it vanished, we can assume that he has good control over his vast chakra reserves. We still don't know what kind of techniques he has aside from standing on air." Jiraiya added.
