A Quest Of Honor

What was honor? What did it truly mean to be a great knight? Weylyn was not certain, as a descendant from a lineage of the kingdom's greatest knights, it seemed Weylyn's destiny was already set in stone. To many, it would seem Weylyn had been dealt a lot of tremendous honor, born into a family with a thousand year history of knighthood, Weylyn possessed natural gifts and great skill and had long already been named among the kingdom's greatest knights. However fate was an interesting thing and when disaster strikes, the fate of the Kinouri Empire rests on it's greatest knight, but of what use was a great knight who had long lost fate in her own kingdom? Weylyn finds herself with a destiny greater than what she had bargained for... With darkness looming and a quest of great consequence long prophesied, Weylyn must chose to either forego past grudges or be the very reason the mission fails and the empire is destroyed. __________________ ~Snippet~ He stared down at her, eyes aflame with his desire for her. She lifted a hand to his bare chest, trailing her fingers slowly over his well defined muscles. His skin was warm beneath her fingertips and his breath caught in his throat as he trembled beneath her touch, He lifted a hand to reciprocate her ministrations and she stepped back. "Please Lynn..." He whispered in a low, breathy tone. And by the creator, his words had her quivering in her need for him... Show The Way (Ch.14)

"Ready... and just in time, you are a stunning beauty My Lady, but come dawn, you shall be our Knight Kalver. Creator help the hearts of every poor lad to set eyes on you today." Leia said in awe, a single tear dripping out of her eyes.

Leia pulled out a pristine white sash bearing the insignia of the House of Kalver and draped it over Weylyn's shoulder, so it portrayed her identity and house she represented.

"It is my blessing to have you both at my side, now you may take your rest... this is a path you cannot accompany me on." Weylyn said as she rose to her feet.

Melanie who had gone to fetch the sword box in which the sword of the Knight of Kalver was stored returned.

"At least permit Mel escort you out to the Oracle's Hall, you should not be seen carrying your sword yourself." Leia said with a teary smile.

Although both her attendants were in their early twenties and could not be considered much older than Weylyn,

Weylyn sometimes felt they treated her as though she was their child and she could not blame them for they had served her right from her birth even when they both were tender in age.

Weylyn nodded her permission and lead the way out just as the bell began tolling again.

Weylyn walked down the halls, ignoring the awed gazes fixed on her as her robes trailed behind her.

"Sir Kalver." A familiar voice greeted and Weylyn quirked a brow to see Viktor jog up to her side.

Weylyn passed a glance over at the squire and watched as his eyes once again widened in awe as it had the first time he had laid eyes on her.

"Earth to Viktor." Weylyn called when the squire remained in a dazed state for longer than a moment.

"Oh... I'm here, pardon me Sir Kalver... I... wow." Viktor stuttered out, unable to convey the words he intended to say.

"This is not your first time to see me Viktor, get your wits about." Weylyn said as she continued on her way.

"I believe I said it was not necessary for you to escort me." Weylyn pointed out as Viktor quickly fell into step at her side.

"I know what Sir Kalver said. I feared Sir Kalver would not know the way to the Oracle's Hall and so I have come under the orders of My Lord Knight to personally escort Sir Kalver there." Viktor relayed in a sheepish tone.

"And what made you believe I do not know the way?" Weylyn asked in a blank tone,

"Well... I'm not sure, do you?" Viktor asked, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

"I don't." Weylyn admitted,

Viktor broke out into laughter at Weylyn's deadpan tone, shutting himself up when Weylyn's gaze narrowed into a glare.

"My apologies Sir. It's just, you keep this straight face at all times and it's just...my apologies, I'll show you the way." Viktor said, chuckling as he guided the path.
