A Performer's Journey

Terra, a dystopian world fraught with conflicts waged both kinetically and quietly in the unnoticeable shadows away from the public eye has fallen into further disarray as the infected are no longer able to remain satisfied with the current status. Some join Reunion, a terrorist organization that aims to cease the continuous abuse and treatment they experience on a daily basis though its leader has something else in mind. Shadows in the dark continue to use their influence to bring about a world with a future of its design. Against it stood Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company with the same capabilities as a paramilitary organization that aims to search for a cure and treat patients of Oripathy. That was supposed to be the case but rumors have begun popping out of another organization led by a man who continues to gaze into the distance as if this was all a memory. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the images and the characters except my OC.

"Farewell sir Gryf." Nunnally stated before the door separating the dorm room from the hallway closed.

I sighed in relief as I took in the silence that permeated the room, happy that I had managed to avoid being subjected to that infernal noise from earlier.

I glanced to the side and watched as the interface reappear. The good thing about the objectives tab is that it at least provides me a roadmap for what steps have to be done.

They were subtle, yes, but a sharp eye can easily notice that the objectives were, in a certain sense, chronologically arranged.

'Well, I guess it's about time I started doing that...' I thought to myself as my gaze wandered to a small closet.

Moving closer to it, my thoughts naturally came to focus on my current predicament.

Most of Gryf's days were spent tending to the many responsibilities and duties handled by a butler and maintaining his physique and skills.

Granted, a single glance at this body only showed a tall, slender man but the build beneath the clothing showed a scarred and trained body that exhuded a sense of confidence in its strength and agility.

It had reached the point that I had to actually actively control the amount of strength I was putting in while grasping the dustpan and broom I was using to clean the wide room.

The nature of this place being a dorm made it less spacious than the barracks that this body recalled from its memories in the military, but I guess that's to be expected with the prestige of this academy's owner.

Ruben K. Ashford was a philantropist through and through, but more importantly, he was someone who the sibling's mother had close ties with in the past.

After the fall of Japan, they were the sole noble family who knew, and proactively aided the hiding of the last VI Brittanians.

A part pf Ruben was suspicious of my intentions and purpose to why I remained loyal to them, but such revelations would come in due time...

No, my entire being was now focused upon the most important matter I had to handle. Making sure that this damn table was spotless!

I had no desire to go through the same experience from earlier. Despite it simply being a sound, I felt as though my soul was slowly being pulled out of my physical body, my thoughts left blank by the excrutiating pain that had somehow scarred me already.

'Mhn mhn, good job me!' I thought, giving myself a pat in the back as I dragged a finger across the smooth surface while I kneeled down at eye level to stare at the table.

It was then that the interface had suddenly appeared before me, signalling the first red objective I was ordered to complete.

{Ensure Lelouch's attainment of his geass.} The interface showed as I read each word slowly before the interface disappeared.

Geass, a power that manifest in different ways depending on the user's desire and personality. It was both a blessing and a curse, but for Lelouch, it would serve as a tool that'd give him the first few steps to accomplishing his objective of revenge.

I stood back up and put away my cleaning supplies, pulling out my phone as I dialed in Lelouch's number.

'Brrt... brrrt... brrrt'

"Hello?" The voice on the other end asked with a tone that was laced with both tiredness, and a tinge of annoyance.

"Master Lelouch, might I ask where you currently are?"

"Why do you ask? Did Shirley ask you about me again?"

"No master, I am simply worried."

"Is that so? Well, I and Rivalz are headed to a game of chess. Interested in joining?"

"Very well, master. I will head to your location now."

"Hm? That's new. You never showed much interest in these challenges before. Ok then, you better hurry though as I have no plans to wait for you."

"Think nothing of it, mas-... that's rude." I voiced quietly after hearing the beep interrupt my words.

Oh well, both I and this body didn't seem to mind the child's rudeness so I casually discarded such thoughts to switch to my civilian attire.

I only ever really wore my butler uniform while in the confines of the academy, but outside of it I simply wore the average joe's shirt, jacket, and pants.

A butler uniform is bound to garner attention, and the nature of our existence was one better off hidden from the prying and curious eyes that a butler uniform catches.

I pick up a set of keys and close the door behind me, hearing the autolocker restrict access to the room as I ran to the elevator and exit the building soon after.

The large academy had a dedicated parking space used by its staff, but Ruben had also given me permission to make use of it to store my bike.

All ibformation related to this identity's habits, likes, dislikes, and skill had already been transferred to me, making the ride to his location rather easy.

As for how I knew his location, I had placed a tracker on his phone, one that he of course knew of. Apparently, this body had actually placed trackers on various items owned by Lelouch and Nunnally in the past but their discovery of them had limited it to the single tracker on his phone.

"Name?" A maid in front of me asked as soon as I had entered the tall building behind where I had parked my bike.

"Robin Gryf."

"Ah, right this way sir." The maid replied upon hearing my name, promptly leading me to an elevator past a door that led to a short hallway.

Ignoring the short amount of time spent walking to and waiting inside of the elevator to reach my destination, I soon found myself to a dark room.

Inside was a small tv, a potted plant, and a small bar accompanied by some stools. A few guards stood in various positions, watching over a nobleman who sat leisurely on a maroon chair.

"Hm..." The nobleman hummed as his brows creased in what seemed to be worry and anxiety. "It seems you weren't a simple student huh, boy?"

"It's your move, sir. I think it'd be best if you placed more attention on the game, you might just end up losing to this boy." Lelouch replied with a calm tone, a tinge of amusement present in his voice as he watched the nobleman release an annoyed grunt.

"Good afternoon, sir." I greeted as I moved to place myself slightly to the side of Lelouch's chair.

'It looks like he's winning...' I thought to myself, all the while knowing that I had absolutely no idea of what was even happening.
