A Night of Terror

It all started in January with the start of a new year, what happened was something NOBODY saw coming. The normal we had known had soon became utter chaos, the street lights that used to glow like small suns would shutter and shatter, the windows and walls were torn apart by the nails of fear from women and children that grasped and gasped for their lives, the silent streets were filled with screams from dying people who were being devoured if they were lucky. Doors were being boarded up and people would hold their breath in hopes to not be heard, very few were able to survive. But that was just the beginning, everything that humanity once knew had come to a desperate chaotic end. Acidic Creatures had devoured this world as if it was only natural and even the slightest sound would gather their attention, a group of teenage survivors holed up in a rundown apartment building, can they find the cause of this monstrous disease? Or will they all fall victim to the hands of the people they once loved.

The End

Year 2037 at 19:24 pm

"The casualties today have gone up from 16 to 37, Rae what do we do? We're running out of ideas and food, the vending machine is almost empty. Are we even going to make it through the next week!? I don't wanna die, who will take care of-" the fearful male looked up to the girl in front of him with a look of desperation in his eyes, he had long hair that was dyed blue and was rather short in stature, he was obviously quite young, probably around 15. He had stopped himself from finishing his own sentence; he feared even the idea of dying to the monsters outside and knew mentioning it would just cause further problems.

"Do your best to make it last the night, tomorrow marks the end of a second week of waiting for help, Starting tomorrow we depend on ourselves and each other, they're not coming back" The girl called Rae replied to the fearful male as she handed him a cup of water and turned her back towards him. Her short brown hair flew behind her, the wind pushing her bangs out of her face. She headed towards the balcony infront of them. She closed the door behind her as she gripped the rail tightly and gritted her teeth, whispering under her breath. "I won't let anyone else sacrifice themselves for him".

She sighed and knelt down in front of the railing and looked down at the ground beneath them, she could see at least 20 of the monsters just scratching at the walls, They were humanoid creatures that were covered in an oozing black liquid-acid with long claws that could tear a person apart with just one swing, the kind of monsters that people would normally just see in movies. "Damn it…. I knew they'd be here soon" The girl stood up and headed back inside as she approached the scared male again and tapped his shoulder twice "Go call in Cayden and Donovan, if you're planning to run in the defense and offense team then you'd better learn what you are going up against Cole'' she grabbed the pistol from off the nightstand and headed back out as she aimed it down and shot one straight between its eyes, knocking it down onto the ground.

The creatures black and green blood splattered all over the ground and began to bubble like acid. The creatures surrounding it looked up at Rae immediately and smiled a huge eerie grin, their heads doing a complete 180 turn as they started climbing up the apartment building towards her, they were like fast bugs, their speed and strength growing by the second.

The creatures arms grasping onto the bricks, grabbing one after another, even pulling old bricks out as they climbed, Rae had continuously shot at the climbing creatures, aiming for their heads or hands as best as she could " 1… 2.. 3.. C'mon c'mon!!" she counted her kills as she quickly reloaded and backed up, they grew closer by the second. One of the creatures had made it onto the balcony and reached towards her, her life flashed before her eyes as she had been suddenly scratched on the cheek while trying to evade its attack, she fell onto her butt. The creature glaring down at her, its acid oozing off of it like slime, she thought to herself that this was truly the end.
