Chapter 5

Here was my plan: go to the mall, get new clothes for my wardrobe and look for something to wear for tonight's party and hangout a little. I did go to the mall and buy some real nice clothes. But I couldn't find something for the party. Or maybe, nothing looked good enough for me. I got a vanilla ice cream cone and sat down to eat it with my shopping bags beside me to take a little break and find another shops to look at. After finishing I sat down there for another 15 minutes and took a look at my phone. Nothing from Gabriel. One text from Victor

I was thinking of replying later on or not replying at all and just surprise him there but decided against it as I don't want to embarrass myself.

I smiled and shook my head. I closed my phone and stood up, taking my shopping bags in both hands to continue my journey of shopping.

I got accessories first instead. I got a nice gold chain necklace with a simple gold bracelet. Eventually I bought a black silk thin strapped dress that stops at mid knee. It looked very elegant and beautiful. I also stopped by a cosmetic shop to get my first ever red lipstick.

When I went home, I saw that I had some time before I get dressed, so I did my assignment and started to dress up. I texted Victor to let him know I'm going. He told me he'll come get by his bike so that we go together which I found it really sweet. I wore the dress with black trainers and a small black purse. I wore my accessories, curled my hair into big curls, put on some mascara and very thin eyeliner, and last but not least, my red lipstick. The moment I put on the lipstick I went immediately from plane Jane to some hot, beautiful Jane, I couldn't even believe it myself that that was actually me. I wore my black fur coat over my dress for the weather and a black scarf too. I put a mental note to lessen the amount of black gradually.

Victor texted me that he was out so I started walking downstairs when I spotted my mum watching the tv. My mum works in a small office so she's always free when she gets back from work. She has light skin, brown eyes, and honey brown hair. My dad on the other hand has olive skin, brown eyes, and jet black hair. While Aidan looks a little similar to us, his blue eyes still make him look different than us.

"Are you going to the party now, honey?" My mum smiled at me when she saw me.

"Yeah." I smiled back at her.

"Oh, look at you, you look beyond beautiful my dear." She smiled again and stood up to take a closer look.

"Thanks, mum." I hugged her tightly then let go.

"Are you going with Gabriel?" Mum asked.

I looked down, it was the first time I ever go out without Gabriel, I debated whether I should tell my mother or not, so I decided to tell her. "Gabriel has a girlfriend now, mum, so I'm letting him be."

"Oh honey." My mum said sympathetically and put her hand on my cheek. She hugged me again and let go. "Who are you going with then?" She frowned. "My new friend Victor, he's new in town." I smiled at her, she smiled at me back. "Well have fun then sweetie, don't stay out late." I murmured a faint 'okay' and ran towards the door.

I saw Victor standing againt his bicycle and waiting. He was wearing the total bad boy look: white t-shirt, black leather jacket, black trousers, and black trainers. I was in awe with his outfit even though it's simple. I smiled at him and he smiled at me back. It's like there's no limits for smiling when it comes to him. "Ready to have a great party?" Victor asked. "I'm ready." He rode the bike and scooped forward, I sat by the side so that I was facing the street not Victor's back. I held onto his waist while he was driving until the bicycle's drive chain loosened, Victor tried to stop the bike but it was now going on high speed from his fast pedaling. He made a circle-turn before we crashed into the pavement and thankfully the bike stopped. I breathed heavily from the shock and stood up from the bike. Victor and I kept looking at the bike then at each other until we both burst out laughing. "Great party, let's go back home." Victor said while laughing. "Worst party ever." I said back and laughed.

We tried to fix the drive chain but it was no use.

"I can't believe this is happening right now, I'm so embarrassed." Victor said while looking down. "It's okay really, we can just walk it." I assured him while smiling. "Are you sure?" Victor asked. "I am" I smiled again. "Ok then." Victor stabilised the bike and we started walking

Marie's house was kind of far away, about 30 mins walking, and the bike saved us about 13 minutes walking. It took more than 13 minutes (about 20) to get there because Victor was dragging the bicycle by his side which made us walk slower than the normal pace. When we reached the house, it still wasn't late yet, yet the party was on a full blast: way too many cars you can't even see the street from the amount, very, very loud music, many people standing outside the house, and the door was swung open with people coming in and getting out. Victor put his bike at the side and we started going in. The music was loud indeed as I said, but inside is a literal disaster, you can feel your heartbeat drumming through your ears. When we got through the door I started assessing the place: too many bright lights, people dancing and drinking, and too many people. I was about to go to the dancefloor when what I saw made me never dare step a foot in it.
