A love not bound with Red

In the enchanting, bustling city of Westford, where people pass their day thriving for success and wealth, running after their dreams and goals, a 28 years old woman named Jasmine, a hardworking editor for a renowned publishing company, pursues her flexible and peaceful life with a huge secret and burden in her shoulders. A blessing, or a curse she can never share with anyone, an ability that makes her look into facts that no one can assume, or truth that often end up being bitter. From a very young age, she could see the departed soul with lingering attachments in the world, and the red thread of fate that binds two people together. Fate, however, plays a cruel trick on her when she finds out she doesn’t have any sort of thread to her own. Jasmine, a cheerful and friendly person, believes in the power of true love, even more when she sees two people bound to each other, loving each other unconditionally, even if they face an adverse situation. But similarly, she loses hope in people to have pure love, as all she can see is betrayal, and farce, which becomes obvious to her with just those threads. After being betrayed by the very first person she ever loved, she lost all the hope for herself, and fate. Until one day, she met a guy as captivating as the morning sun in the winter. Warm, gentle, with sharp yet kindness to his light brown eyes. As she locked her eyes with those pair of beautiful ones, playfully doing their magic behind his soft, chestnut brown hair, she was forced to admit that there are people like him for whom the word ‘love’ was made. And even though their relationship started as two bickering coworkers nagging at each other at every little thing, the love bloomed in her heart for her favorite author, and the one she was entrusted to take care of professionally, Carter Klein. Once again, she let herself lose in the strength of love, despite knowing she was doomed to be with no one, only to figure out that Carter was in fact, fated with someone else. Someone who he can never get, and someone with whom he can never resolve his feelings. “I should back off, shouldn’t I?” with an aching heart, and teary eyes, she sealed those feelings in her heart forever. But destiny had some other plans, as Carter seemed to notice his editor Jasmine in a different light. She was no longer a mere work partner, but a friend to who he could see himself sharing anything and everything. “If it’s her, then maybe I could dare to walk out of the mud I am stuck in.” Will these two tear apart the firm bond of the thread tangled to Carter’s past? Or Jasmine’s love would weaken itself at the mercy of fate? Join their chaotic journey to find out how the pages of their life unfold. – – – – – – Hey people! NamCandy reporting again, with her third book. Honestly, I had this planned for a long while, even though the main concept of “Red thread of fate” was something totally new for me. Those who know me from my first book, must recognize the male lead already. That’s right, I promised there I’d bring justice to my favorite boy, Carter. So here it is. And if you have been reading my second book, I’m sure the other character ain’t new either hehe. Well then, enjoy their rollercoaster ride!

Baby Brother

"Shut the fck up, Ash." With a forcible push, Aoi shoved the boy away from that screen, sending him practically flying away from the screen. "I swear if you try to pull any of these double meaning shits to them."

"Aww, bummer. You are so rude sometimes." A small whine could be heard from the side, clearly from that boy. "Do you act the same way with your viewers as well?"

With that, tons of messages in the live chat came flooding, almost blinding the right corner of the screen with the streams of dark grey boxes of those texts. "Yo, you actually are this prickish to them as well? C'mon guys, how in the world are you guys even tolerating him?" The white-haired boy sighed loud, seeing all those chats flooding in. "There's a certain limit for being a masochist, don't you think so?"

'Says who was willing to spend the evening and night with this prickish guy.' One of the viewers sent a text, and everyone started to react to that so much that it got highlighted. Even Jasmine laughed out loud, seeing that text.

"Oh? True that, you are right." That boy nodded his head in an understanding manner. "But look at this beautifully sculpted face. Don't you think he looks so handsome that his foul mouth can be ignored just fine? Though I'd much prefer spending with all those lovely people here I see." With that saying, that white haired boy slowly went closer to the screen, with his dangerously bright brown eyes shining thanks to the light emitting from the screen, leaning onto it extremely close. Jasmine won't lie, but the way that boy looked at the screen, towards the camera, was kinda...

"OMG THAT'S SO HOT!" Someone literally spoke her mind with one text, and everyone immediately started agreeing to it. At this point, the stream wasn't about Aoi anymore, as this mysterious yet beautiful, cheerful sunflower kind of boy was stealing the entire show, having every one of the viewers flocking at him, virtually.

"That's it, Ash. Do you want to steal my stream now?" A hand which Jasmine knows pretty well, popped up, grabbing onto the shoulders of the boy pretty roughly, and to that, the boy named 'Ash' ended up giggling like a child.

"C'mon, Aniki, I told you to promote mine as well. Since you didn't do it might as well steal the show, right fam?" Ash winked at the camera, which for sure made all the people watching the stream squeal as a result, as even Jasmine could feel a tug in her heart. Is this how smooth a player, flirty guy can be? If so, that's some dangerously good talent, she hasn't encountered an ace like that in a while.

"Haah, fine, as you wish." Aoi's defeated voice could be heard, and Jasmine was pretty sure, his face was pulled off in a distorted grunt, while he spoke. "People, I'm sorry for all those rubbish shit he pulled off, but as much reluctant I am to admit, this fella is my li'l bro, Ash."

"Yes, I'm the cute little brother of this fine-looking yet potty-mouthed gentleman." Ash winked at the camera yet again, striking a cute pose. "And if you guys loved talking with me, you can ditch this boring brother of mine and come chat and watch me in my own stream."

"His username is AshLord."

"And I play different kinds of games and stream that on live. Feel free to drop by." Ash finished Aoi's sentence on his behalf, but this time with a more natural and cheeky-looking smile, unlike the previously flirtatious one. That was way more eye-catchy, Jasmine wouldn't lie. So much so that she couldn't help but mention it in the live chat.

"Woah, someone out there ain't a simp, aniki. Look, they praised me for my natural smile." Ash's eyes beamed like two shiny drops of winter dew, under the reflection of gentle, warm sunlight.

"Ok, stop grinning like some fool now, you look like shit that way, stupid bro." Even though Aoi was heard to be badmouthing his brother again, there was a soft chuckle from him, and soon, his hand rested on Ash's head, gently patting over the soft silvery white locks of the young boy. And while Jasmine was looking at them and thinking how chaotic yet loving interaction they shared, Ash had already taken his leave from that room, leaving only the owner of the stream alone.

"Sigh," Aoi let out a soft sigh, the moment he was left alone. He took a while to process what he should start with, and was getting mentally ready for all those questions possibly flooding in, asking about this brother of his. But when he looked up at his screen, one particular text caught his eyes, and he wasn't able to take his eyes off that one. It wasn't a question, like the other hundreds coming in, but that one line formed a smile on his face. And he couldn't help but chuckle as a response.

"Oh, he laughed again." Jasmine was caught off guard, same as last time, hearing the deep yet gentle smile once again. It was rare, to hear something remotely cheerful from this guy, and the only gentle way of communication he conducts is through those beautiful songs he sings, and the music he produces. So, having this guy laugh cheerfully this way was new to her, even though she has been his fan and follower for two whole years now. The laughter was far from the polite chuckles he rarely dropped, which sounded far from being cheerful.

"Wow, aren'tcha quite perspective? Yep, I do actually love my little baby brother a lot." Aoi sounded happy, while responding to that. It was obvious that this guy was really biased and soft towards his younger brother, as this typical 'prickish' guy went as far as to thanks a stranger watching his stream. But that surprise wasn't enough yet, as Aoi suddenly got up, saying something that left Jasmine speechless.

"Sora-san, right? As to thank you for saying something really nice, request a song. I will sing it for you."
