A love not bound with Red

In the enchanting, bustling city of Westford, where people pass their day thriving for success and wealth, running after their dreams and goals, a 28 years old woman named Jasmine, a hardworking editor for a renowned publishing company, pursues her flexible and peaceful life with a huge secret and burden in her shoulders. A blessing, or a curse she can never share with anyone, an ability that makes her look into facts that no one can assume, or truth that often end up being bitter. From a very young age, she could see the departed soul with lingering attachments in the world, and the red thread of fate that binds two people together. Fate, however, plays a cruel trick on her when she finds out she doesn’t have any sort of thread to her own. Jasmine, a cheerful and friendly person, believes in the power of true love, even more when she sees two people bound to each other, loving each other unconditionally, even if they face an adverse situation. But similarly, she loses hope in people to have pure love, as all she can see is betrayal, and farce, which becomes obvious to her with just those threads. After being betrayed by the very first person she ever loved, she lost all the hope for herself, and fate. Until one day, she met a guy as captivating as the morning sun in the winter. Warm, gentle, with sharp yet kindness to his light brown eyes. As she locked her eyes with those pair of beautiful ones, playfully doing their magic behind his soft, chestnut brown hair, she was forced to admit that there are people like him for whom the word ‘love’ was made. And even though their relationship started as two bickering coworkers nagging at each other at every little thing, the love bloomed in her heart for her favorite author, and the one she was entrusted to take care of professionally, Carter Klein. Once again, she let herself lose in the strength of love, despite knowing she was doomed to be with no one, only to figure out that Carter was in fact, fated with someone else. Someone who he can never get, and someone with whom he can never resolve his feelings. “I should back off, shouldn’t I?” with an aching heart, and teary eyes, she sealed those feelings in her heart forever. But destiny had some other plans, as Carter seemed to notice his editor Jasmine in a different light. She was no longer a mere work partner, but a friend to who he could see himself sharing anything and everything. “If it’s her, then maybe I could dare to walk out of the mud I am stuck in.” Will these two tear apart the firm bond of the thread tangled to Carter’s past? Or Jasmine’s love would weaken itself at the mercy of fate? Join their chaotic journey to find out how the pages of their life unfold. – – – – – – Hey people! NamCandy reporting again, with her third book. Honestly, I had this planned for a long while, even though the main concept of “Red thread of fate” was something totally new for me. Those who know me from my first book, must recognize the male lead already. That’s right, I promised there I’d bring justice to my favorite boy, Carter. So here it is. And if you have been reading my second book, I’m sure the other character ain’t new either hehe. Well then, enjoy their rollercoaster ride!

A sweet daze

"Huh?"

Jasmine was surprised, taken aback by that sudden words from her favorite artist. But he was already gone, probably to pick up his Gibson and bring it with him. An artist calling out to a fan, and offering a request to fulfill, was something a fan would always dream about, yet when that comes true, it is pretty hard to process that. And while Jasmine was under that processing, other viewers went crazy over the live chat, urging 'Sora' to choose a song they would want to hear, or anything, as long as they all get to listen to him sing on a day he wasn't mainly supposed to.

"Woah, Sora-san haven't chosen a song yet? C'mon, mate, I ain't got all the day, hum?" Aoi came back, with his guitar in his hands, already checking the tuning while raising a few soft strums.

Jasmine pondered for a while, as all those requests on behalf of her others were already clouding her head a bit. But it didn't take much for her to select a song. "I wonder if he would mind this one," she muttered to herself, while slowly typing in the title of the song and sending it to the chat, making sure to use a push command option so that it pops up with an AI voice.

And as expected of that awesome feature, it got the attention of Aoi, even though he had his eyes peeled at the screen. "Ah, this one?"

The entire live chat went on a confused frenzy, reading the title Jasmine had typed in. Mostly because, they weren't really familiar with it, as there came tons of texts like, 'He has a song like that?' 'I don't know this one, whose song are they requesting right now?' 'Are they requesting a cover from him?'

Aoi took a while before responding, "Sora-san, if this is okay, may I ask why this one?"

Jasmine was startled by that question. Did he actually mind her request, as she was fearing? Maybe she should've gone for something the chat wanted to hear, damn. Cursing herself in her mind, she quickly typed out a text, and sent it to the live chat.

'Because the music and the lyrics of it remind me of a character from my favorite book.'

Aoi stared at the text sent from 'Sora'. A smile unknowingly crept onto his face, and without further ado, he quickly tuned his guitar. "Blind for you, playing for Sora-san." He just said those, as he always does, speaking out the name of the song before starting to sing it, and his long, fair fingers started gently working over the strings of the guitar, raising the melody as if they were obedient to his orders, and would work for him no matter how randomly he makes a sound out of it.

'Oh! I just browsed through his Instagram account, this is the first-ever original he posted, when he just started fresh on socials.'

'Oh my God, are they like, the oldest fan of Aoi? God, I'm so jealous, kyaaa!'

One of the viewers sent out a text, and everyone went crazy over that. But Jasmine paid no attention to that chaos, as she already had sunk into the peaceful feeling surging from the depth in her heart, thanks to that song. When she said this song brings her to the book she loved, she wasn't lying. As if the song itself resonated from the title of the book she was holding in her hands right now, and the monologue in the song reminded her of the main character, Sora, from the book. How she was someone who stayed true to her emotions, and even though there were hurdles, she thrived hardest to make those reach out to the love of her life. As if nothing else mattered, when it was about the male lead of the book, Aoi. It must have been a coincidence, or maybe the artist 'Aoi' was also a fan of K's books, or maybe particularly this one 'Blind for you', because everything in that song, screamed about the beautiful, peaceful, innocent feeling of love the world has to offer. No complexity, no binding, just a maiden who was blind in love for the boy who seemed so out of reach, yet she agreed to cross the road. Jasmine always loved to listen to, and witness some amazing love stories, as she was someone who had seen breakups and dark sides of love more than successful, beautiful ones. And looking at the female lead of the book, she felt a strange feeling of satisfaction, and was impressed by her courage and optimism, something Jasmine wanted to achieve for herself. Thus, she chose 'Sora' to be her online personality to subscribe to this singer, when she found out his name was 'Aoi'. Not because she wanted to have a romantic involvement with Aoi, as other fans do on a regular basis, but because she wanted to feel like Sora, influenced by a positive presence like 'Aoi'.

Once the song ended, the viewers went crazy over how beautiful it sounded. Even to Jasmine, it felt like, after two whole years, this song in his voice sounded way different and way more beautiful than it was back then. She couldn't help but express that thought to the chatbox, and reading that, a laugh came from Aoi's side.

"Thank you so much, for reminding me about this song. This is, a bit special for me, so it was a nice reminiscence." Aoi's face beamed, even though that was well hidden from the camera. "Also, thank you, for supporting me from the beginning."

The stream ended pretty quickly after that, but Jasmine felt dazed for a long while, even after that. "What just happened?" She dazed, while staring at the ceiling, watching the fan tirelessly moving in a circular motion. As the realization struck her, she immediately pressed one of the pillows near her to her face, and squealed as loud as she could. "OMG, he kept my request, this is my luckiest ever day." She threw her feet in joy, squirming on the bed in overwhelming happiness and excitement. She took her phone, and hurriedly typed a post about it on her alternate social media account, which she uses to fangirl about the things she likes, with the same name 'Sora'. And with a day ending with a good note, she fell asleep, with that book still in her hands, and the unfinished packet of chips open and untouched.
