Chapter 9: Future Daughter-in-law

Before Soo Min could stop her friend, Aunt Ellie grabbed her hand and asked, "And where do you think your going, Missy?"

Giving her a weak smile, Soo Min said "Heheh... Aunt Ellie, I just remembered I had some urgent work to finish up! It would be better if I'd meet him some other time—"

"There he is! Ryan come here." When Soo Min heard Uncle Mike call his name, she immediately turned around and lifted her head to look at a tall man dressed in a navy blue business suit walking towards the them.

'It's him! He's the so-called nephew?!' She thought inwardly before snapping back to reality.

Placing his arm around Ryan's shoulder, Uncle Mike turned to Soo Min and said, "Soo Min, meet my dear nephew, the handsome CEO of Glamour, Ryan Song."

Ryan chuckled and said, "Oh come on Uncle that's not true." His lips curled upwards and continued, "You forgot to add 'legend of the business world'"

Rolling her eyes, Soo Min scoffed and muttered, "What a narcissist!"

Narrowing his eyes at her, Ryan asked, "Did you say something?"

Ignoring his question, Soo Min wandered her eyes around whilst whistling, which irked Ryan.

"And this is my good friend's daughter, Park Soo Min. One of the best cardio thoracic surgeons, you will ever find." Uncle Mike proudly said.

"I know." The two of them simultaneously said.

"Y—You do?" Uncle Mike asked. This was definitely a shock—no a pleasant surprise for him. He had initially planned to introduce them to each other in hopes to get some sparks to go off between them as he felt the two were perfect for each other.

But the fact that they knew each other just made his life even easier. Or so he thought!

"How did you guys meet?" He inquired.

"Saved him from a car accident." Soo Min perfectly summed up the whole meet up story in just a few words, thinking there was not much to it anyway.

Ryan didn't comment on her words and simply just nodded.

"Accident?" Uncle Mike's eyes instantly shifted to give a meaningful stare at Ryan, who in turn nodded his head in conformation to what his uncle was thinking about.

Clearing his throat, Uncle Mike quickly turned back to Soo Min to avoid any sort of suspicion.

"Are you guys done?" Soo Min asked. Their odd facial exchanges did not go unnoticed by her. She knew Ryan was a weirdo, but Uncle Mike him too?

Gosh! This guy was too much of a bad influence. 'It would be best to maintain a proper distance from him' She inwardly thought.

"If there is nothing else, I'll take my leave. Uncle Mike I'll see you later." She slightly bowed her head and left, not even bothered to spare Ryan a fleeting glance.

When she was no longer in the view of those two men, Soo Min breathed a sigh of relief. At first, she thought Ryan had realized that it was her, who had crashed into his car and came to reprimand her, but to her luck he had not a single clue.

She then decided to look for her friend, Olivia and teach her a good lesson for leaving her at such a crucial time. But... just where did she go?

Soo Min looked around to find Olivia, and her eyes landed on her friend standing near the juice bar. As she was about to approach her, in the process she bumped into someone.

"I'm so sorry." When she had turned around to apologize, her eyes widened in surprise to see the person standing in front of her. "Noah?!"

"Brother?" Mother Song tapped on Uncle Mike's shoulders, who then turned around, and asked,

"There you are. I was looking all over for you. What were you up to?"

Uncle Mike smiled and said, "Me? Oh nothing really... I was just introducing your son and my best friend's daughter. But why were you looking for me, Jane?"

Soon a frown appeared on Mother Song's face before she smacked her brother's shoulder with a strong force.

"Ow!" Uncle Mike winced in pain.

"You fool! When did this random girl come into the picture," Mother Song said before her eyes shifted to Soo Min. "God... here I am trying to get Soo Min with my that hopeless brat son of mine, and now my useless brother tries to set up him with some random girl?!"

"..."

Mother Song massaged her temples and said, "I seriously feel like strangling your neck right now!"

"Wait... did you say Soo Min? As in Park Soo Min?" Uncle Mike immediately asked.

Mother Song rolled her eyes before saying, "NO Michael! I said Jennifer Lopez...are you deaf? Of course I meant Park Soo Min. Who else would it be?"
