Chapter 86: Food Wars

Within minutes, the once empty table was filled with freshly cooked variety of japanese dishes. The warmth of the food made the cold breeze of the night more bearable, since it was an open rooftop dining.

"Please." Mother Song said, gesturing with her hands to the three of them to begin to eat.

"Smells good. Here, let me help you." Noah clapped his hands and started to get some dishes and put it on Soo Min's plate.

"You know, I have hands right?" Soo Min asked, but it was more of a firm statement than a question. Something did not sit right with her, why was this usual disinterested man actively doing things for her today? It wasn't until Soo Min started paying attention that she saw all the vegetables that he hated piling up like a mountain on her plate.

Soo Min's face was dark as his eyes glinted a dangerous and eerie glimmer. Turning her head to face him, she sweetly smiled, "What are you doing, my de~ar~fri~end?"

It was dazzling to the point that it was blinding Ryan and Mother Song, who watched their exchanges with a dumbfounded expression. Her voice was so sweet and angelic. Unfortunately, that was not how Noah saw it.

As soon as he heard that sweet sounding voice accompanied with her dazzling smile, a shiver run down his spine and shook his core. Instantly, his bodies were covered with cold sweat, making him pause on his actions, understanding the fact that he had been found out.

The amount of emphasis she had placed on the 'end' part of the word friend made it clear to him that he was about to be dragged to the depths of hell, yet his fear was concealed by his smiling face.

"What do you mean? I don't understand what you're trying to say. I just wanted to help you that's all." Noah nonchalantly said, let the beads of sweat forming on his forehead started to give him away.

"Oh really? Then let me be so kind and return the favor." Soo Min said in such a sweet tone that it was hard for anyone else other than Noah to decipher the true meaning behind her words.

"Why thank— you…?" When Noah turned his attention to his plate, his eyes widened when he saw his plate filled with all kinds of sweets and savory dishes mixed together as if she wanted to kill him with the contrasting flavors. And carrots! How much he hated that vegetable.

"Of course." Soo Min said in the sweetest possible tone that almost made him want to gag. This woman! How can she be so two-faced? Noah cried at his miserable fate.

Amidst the two's food war, a laugh erupted catching the attention of everyone.

"You two…" Mother Song started trying to stifle her laughter. "You really do act like siblings. How cute." She somehow managed to say, yet continued to laugh.

'Try your tricks with me again. Then just watch what I'll do to you.' Soo Min smiled so brightly that her cheeks started hurt.

Noah did not even blink and met her gaze with lifted eyebrows. His eyes challenged her gaze, as if saying 'Do your worst.'

Being the first one to break eye contact, Soo Min returned her attention to her plate and started eating.

Casually wandering her eyes around whilst savoring the taste, she looked at Ryan's face for a moment looking grim as ever.

'He really should stop trying to frown so much when he's got the looks of a greek god. Oh well, it's partly my fault so I'll give in this one time.' Soo Min mused, before grabbing a side dish with her chopsticks and placing it on his plate.

'Yes, Soo Min. Be the bigger person.' She proudly thought to herself.

Ryan's eyes rippled for a moment before it regained it's cold gaze; however, it did not hide the smile on his lips.
