Sakura Palace.
After literally shopping till they dropped, Mother Song invited Soo Min and Noah for dinner at the city's most popular japanese restaurant. Of course, when she simply chose to ignore her son's presence, Ryan took the initiative to invite himself as there was no way he was going to leave Soo Min with Noah.
Soon, they arrived at a round table situated near a terrace overlooking an enormous pond. There were pink lotus flowers in full bloom scattered beautifully on the water's surface and if one would look closer, there were koi fishes swimming about in different
colors and sizes.
The restaurant's ambience was so peaceful and tranquil as it give off a very surreal feeling coupled with the accompaniment of the scenic view of cherry blossoms falling.
The four of them sat in their respective seats, with Soo Min and Noah sitting directly opposite to Mother Song and Ryan on the other end.
Wait a minute, who came with this arrangement? Ryan gave his mother a sideways glance but Mother Song did not flinch or look away from his prying eyes.
"Sirs, madams, here are your menus. Please press this button if you are ready to order. Well then, excuse me." The waiter politely said and slightly bowed his head before walking out.
"Soo Min. Noah. And person I didn't invite. Choose anything you like." Mother Song nonchalantly said as she herself scanned through the menu.
"Soo Min, look. It's your favorite. Takoyaki." Noah said as he pointed to the menu.
Leaning closer to see where he was pointing at, Soo Min sighed and said, "No, you big dummy. That's not my favorite japanese dish. My favorite one is shin udon. In fact, I hate takoyaki a lot!"
"Hmm, really? But wait I remember you used to always eat it at lunch with that foreign exchange student from japan. What was his name again? Akane?" Noah tried hard to recollect his high school years.
"Akane? Where'd you even get that name from? His name was Kyo." Soo Min corrected, shaking her head.
"Dang, Soo Min. How did you remember his name so—wait you know what I'm actually not that surprised because didn't you used to like Kyo?" Noah asked, smirking at her.
Soo Min's eyes widened, upon hearing his words.
"Yeah. You definitely did. I remember Olivia telling me during our second semester of our sophomore year, but I didn't believe her back then. But now that I think about it, so many things make much more sense. The fact that you even ate something you hate—Mmh!"
Before he could spout any more nonsense, Soo Min abruptly covered his mouth with her hand and threatened: "Just. Stop. Talking."
Being the one to receive that intense glare, Noah slowly nodded his head and had no idea when his forehead started dripping in sweat.
"Oh my. Is that Soo Min's childhood crush you speak of?" Mother Song asked as her eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"U—Um." Soo Min slowly turned to look at Mother Song, but it was exactly at that moment she sensed a burning glare directed at her. Those piercing blue eyes which usually looked at her with warmth, were now filled with a dangerous glint.
Gulping, Soo Min nervously smiled and started, "Maybe another time—"
Grabbing her hand and pulling it away from his mouth, Noah added "Not just that. She used to follow him around like a little puppy, standing by him like she was his own shadow." His eyes sparkled as he spoke with great enthusiasm over her love life.
"Really now? Wow, Soo Min. I never thought of you to be the persistent type." Mother Song gently
laughed while covering her lips.
"Neither did I." Ryan snorted coldly with derision.
"He..he..heh yeah." Soo Min nervously laughed.
Dropping her head down in shame, she screamed inwardly 'Just kill me at this point.'
