Chapter 8: He Is Handsome

At The Venue Entrance.

Standing right under the Porte Cochere, Olivia paced back and forth and glanced at the hotel driveway from time to time.

Tapping her foot restlessly, she murmured, "Where is she?"

Before taking out her phone from her golden purse and dialing Soo Min's number for god knows what? The hundredth time!

But the phone kept ringing and Soo Min wasn't picking up.

Just as she turned around, she saw a figure of a woman running towards her.

At first, she did not know who it was, but upon taking a closer look she recognized the person immediately.

It was Soo Min. But why was she running as if she was being chased?

Running and bumping into a few people at the stairs, who she then apologized to. Soo Min stopped right in front of her friend, panting and trying to catch her breath.

It was not everyday she had to run with six inch stilettos and an evening gown that weighed about hundred pounds.

"What took you so long?" Olivia asked but when she saw her friend panting so loudly, she furrowed her eyebrows in worry and added,

"Y—You okay?"

Fixing her slightly disheveled gown, Soo Min nodded and said, "It's a long story...but that's not important right now."

Hooking her arms around Olivia's, she winked and said, "Let's go girlfriend."

Olivia chuckled and nodded before the two of them made their way into the glass building.

At The Top Most Floor.

DING!

When the elevator doors opened, the two girls jaws dropped at the gorgeous view of the party.

The hall was decorated exquisitely and the lights illuminated the entire place.

The hustling and bustling of many famous businessmen and celebrities livened the party to a further extent.

Gatherings like this were mainly for people to show of their riches and make connections beneficial to themselves and their businesses.

Just as the two girls stepped out of the elevator, they were immediately greeted upon by a middle-aged couple.

"Ah Soo Min dear, you finally came." A man in his mid-forties stepped out and said.

"Good Evening, Uncle Mike and Aunt Ellie." Soo Min politely greeted.

"A good evening to you too, sweetie." Aunt Ellie said with a warm smile on her pretty face. Even though she was in her early forties, she still maintained herself young with a slim body that did not seem like it had given birth to two children.

Uncle Mike and Aunt Ellie were family friends but they always treated Soo Min like their own daughter, especially Aunt Ellie.

She was like the mother Soo Min never had and to her Soo Min was a daughter that she always dreamed to have.

"Look at you Soo Min, you've become even more beautiful than the last time I saw you." Uncle Mike said.

Soo Min chuckled and said, "That's totally not true, but thank you."

"By any chance, do you have a boyfriend? If not I can introduce you to my nephew. He's around your age too."

Soo Min rolled her eyes and said, "Come on Uncle Mike. Why does everyone keep asking that question? You can't get rid of me so soon—"

Cutting her friend of, Olivia's inquisitive mind asked, "Is he handsome? Because let me tell you right away, our Soo Min is too pretty and smart for some mediocre kind of guy! She deserves the best of the best."

Olivia proudly stated while Soo Min smacked her own forehead. Like did anyone even pay attention to what she just said?

She does not want to get into a relationship right now! She was only twenty-three and her medical career just took off.

Uncle Mike nodded and said, "Oh don't you worry about that, he is a handsome hunk. After all he is gone on his uncle. He is bound to be handsome. Isn't that right honey?"

Rolling her eyes at her husband's boastful comment, Aunt Ellie smacked his arm and said,

"Soo Min dear, don't you worry. He is ten times handsome and smarter than this old Uncle of yours! In fact, he is here in this party right now. Let me introduce you to him."

Olivia snorted watching Uncle Mike's gloomy expression and Soo Min's unexpected situation but instantly recomposed herself when she meet her friend's deadly stare.

"Please excuse me, I'll be right back." Clearing her throat, Olivia said.

"Where you going? Hey no wait for me—" Soo Min beamed, but to no avail as her friend had already made her great escape.
