Chapter 63: Sweet Kiss

Private Ward.

After one of the doctors came in and confirmed that it was indeed just a sprain and nothing too concerning, Ryan felt a bit relieved.

Still due to his insistence, the doctor prescribed an ointment to help with the sprain and then Ryan sent his assistant to get it from the pharmacy.

Olivia and Noah also left after chatting with Soo Min for a bit, informing her that they will visit her tomorrow.

Soo Min stretched her hands and yawned. All of a sudden, the aroma of fried chicken wafted from the room.

With her eyes closed, her head followed the smell until it stopped in a specific direction. Just as she opened her eyes, she saw a plate full of fried chicken present in front of her.

"Hungry?" She looked up at the man who was holding the plate in front of her.

Her eyes lit up and she vigorously nodded her head. Ryan smiled before feeding her.

Soo Min had dived well into more than half the box, when her phone rang. When she looked at the Caller ID, she saw Noah's name.

'Did he leave something here?' Soo Min mused.

Just as she was about to answer the call, her phone was snatched away from her.

"Hey! Give it back."

"You can have it back after you eat."

"What are you talking about? Just give me back my phone."

"No."

Soo Min immediately stood up on the bed and attempted to reach for her phone, Ryan switched hands and used his other hand to keep her away from reaching it.

"Ryan. Give it to me."

"No. You can call him later."

'Why is he acting so childish?' Soo Min frowned.

Frustrated, Soo Min pounced on him and tried to release her phone from his hand.

"Return it to me." Soo Min wrapped her hands around his neck and tried to strangle him into submission.

"N—No." Yet Ryan didn't give up.

He tried to walk back and forth to get her off his back, as he was starting to feel breathless with her sudden attack.

"Give it back to me."

"No!" As he took another step forward, his leg hit the wheels of the bed and tripped causing him and Soo Min to fall sideways into the bed.

"Ahhhh." They both shrieked.

THUD!

'Ouch. Can't you be more careful? If this was the floor do you realize how ba—" Soo Min stopped abruptly when she saw Ryan's face only inches away from hers.

His eyes were fixed on her, making her face unconsciously heat up. No matter how much she wanted to just get up and get out of there, it seemed as if her body had a mind of its own.

Ryan's heartbeat quickened as his body moved closer to Soo Min. Without waiting even a second longer, he closed the distance between them and gently kissed her lips.

Soo Min too closed her eyes and responded back to the kiss. That was all it took for the last speck of fear in his heart completely vanished, and all that was left was his love for her.

POOF!

Ryan immediately snapped out of his daydream when he heard Soo Min's phone ringing again.

'Why did I dream of kissing her?' Ryan mused while his eyes never left Soo Min's

Feeling all this heat reach her cheeks, Soo Min looked at him with rounded eyes.

'No way! Did I…. fall in love with her?' Ryan's eyes widened upon this realization.

Almost instantly, they both attempted to get up to get out of this awkward situation, and in the process bumped their heads against each other's.

"Ow." They both simultaneously spoke.

Ryan was taken aback for a minute, when he felt Soo Min place her hands on either side of his head.

"W—What are you doing—Ow!" He hissed in pain when Soo Min purposely bumped their heads together again.

"Woman, are you crazy?" Ryan asked rubbing his aching forehead.

"Sorry, but I had to do that. They say if you bump your head only once you'll grow horns, so I had to bump our heads again to nullify the effect." Soo Min reasoned.

When he heard this explanation of hers, his mind went blank. Almost instantly, he bursted into laughter.

"What's so funny?" Soo Min asked, feeling confused.

"Ahahaha… haha… ah.. hah… nothing. It's just your so cute." Ryan wiped the tears off his face after constantly laughing for so long.

But he didn't realize that his words made Soo Min's face tint slightly pink.

He slowly got down from the bed and took out a file from his laptop bag. Soo Min's eyebrows furrowed at the familiar file.

"Here, this is for you. The reason I came back early without telling you was because I wanted to surprise you with this!" Ryan said as he handed her the file.

Soo Min took the file from his hands and opened it. When she saw it up close, she realized she was right. It was her medical file, but what she saw next was totally unexpected but truly a pleasant surprise.

"T—This…" Soo Min glanced at the papers, processing everything.

"These are your discharge papers! I spoke to the doctor to ask about your condition, yesterday and that's when he told me that you have recovered well. So I filled out the forms to get you these papers. You are now free to leave." Ryan said with a smile.

"Oh… my… god! I'm soooo happy! Thank you so much." Soo Min hugged Ryan out of excitement. Once again this was something he and his heart were clearly not ready for.

Pulling back, Soo Min said, "I'm going to start packing right now." She quickly jumped off the bed and gathered all her things, before opening her suitcase.

Ryan smiled at her cute antics before lending her a hand in packing.
