…..
Eleventh Floor, City Hospital.
"Come on. Come on. Sunbae, please pick up the phone." Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as Chang Min waited for the call to get connected.
He increased his pace as he made his way towards Soo Min's private ward, only to see the two men standing right outside the door, and bantering about something he was too far to comprehend.
"Hello." Soo Min answered.
Chang Min sighed in relief when the call finally went through.
"Hello? Chang Min? Are you there?"
"H—Hello. Yes, I'm here. Sunbae! You have to come back right now. Your fiancé and your friend are here to visit you. In fact, they are standing right by your ward door, as we speak."
"WHAT?!" Soo Min was simply dumbstruck.
'That idiot. Why do his surprise visits always seem to be more like a shock!' Soo Min mused.
"Okay. I'll come back right now, but I need you to do me a favor."
"What is it?"
"I need you to stall them somehow until I come back. Whatever you do make sure they do not go inside the room, or else you and I are both toast!"
"Huh...M—ME? But.."
Before he could even protest, Soo Min hung up the call.
"Hello? Sunbae? Sunbae?"
…..
In front of the private ward.
"Sunbae just what kind of mess have you put me into to!" Hwang Chang Min muttered, sweating profusely.
"Mr. Song!" Just as Ryan was about to reach for the door handle, Chang Min immediately intervened.
When Ryan let go of the handle, Chang Min sighed of relief.
"What?" Ryan asked nonchalantly.
"I—I just wanted to meet you a—and introduce myself to you, since I didn't get a chance to last time." Chang Min chuckled nervously and bowed his head.
"Oh." Ryan nodded and then went back to reach for the handle again, when he was interrupted once again.
"And you must be Mr. Chan. It's such an honor to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you from Sunbae." Chang Min once again gained control of the situation.
"It's good to meet you too, Chang Min. Thank you for taking care of Soo Min." Noah politely replied.
"Of course." Chang Min smiled.
…..
A couple minutes later.
"Soo Min! Slow down, will you? We've been running nonstop for like an hour already. Let me breathe, girl." Olivia complained stopping in her tracks.
From the moment they got Chang Min's phone call, Soo Min had dragged her out of the concert, pushing and shoving through the crowd, an act to which she had to apologize for.
On top of that, she wasn't even able to go to the meet and greet with her idol.
One of the reasons why the ticket was expensive was because of the VIP meeting and the chance to take a single photo, something she had been dreaming of for so long and her friend just threw water on all her fantasies.
And now they were already at the hospital, but this lady would still not give her a break.
"Breathe? If we stop now, not just me but both of us will be dead meat by that ice statue if he finds out about this whole sneaking out to a concert thing. Now come on." Soo Min said before grabbing her friend's hand and pulling her into one of the restrooms to change back into her patient clothes.
"Why did I even tell you about the concert? This is just so troublesome." Olivia sobbed.
…..
Changing Room.
"Soo Min, brother-in-law better make this up to me! Because of both of you, I lost my only chance of meeting my idol. Who knows because of you I might have even lost such a prospective marriage?!" Olivia complained.
Soo Min rolled her eyes at her friend's crazy fantasies. "Fine. Fine. But don't mention anything about today. I'll get you all his albums and a VIP ticket to his next concert, including a backstage pass."
"REALLY?" Olivia's eyes lit up at the even better opportunity that fell into her lap.
"Yes! Now let's hurry up and leave. And remember don't give him the slightest bit of doubt that we went out. Okay?" Soo Min asked.
"Okay!" Olivia replied.
"Great. Let's go—Ouch!" Soo Min winced in pain when she unknowingly stepped in the wrong way due to the hurry she was in, twisting her ankle in the process.
"Soo Min! Are you alright?" Olivia asked, worriedly.
"Yeah. I think it's just a sprain. I'll be fine. Let's go." Soo Min replied, but by the way she was walking, Olivia could tell she was suppressing her pain.
