Chapter 6: He’s Your Grandson?

Outside the mall entrance.

The skies were tar black and the large clouds moved closer. Streaks of lightening passed through the clouds, before the heavy downpour began, showing no signs of stopping.

Soo Min and Olivia waited along with Grandma Song near the mall entrance for her grandson to arrive.

"Damn it. I didn't even bring an umbrella." Olivia cursed before turning to Soo Min and asked "Did you?"

Soo Min shook her head in denial.

Checking her rose gold watch, Grandma Song turned to the two young ladies and said, "You girls should go. My grandson should be here soon anyway. It's getting quite late and I don't want to be a hinderance for you."

"No grandma, it's not safe to leave here and stop saying you're a hinderance. You're not. In fact, we love spending time with you." Soo Min said before placing her hand on Grandma Song's hand.

"Isn't that right?" She turned to her friend who nodded in agreement.

"Of course! Speaking of which, what time did your grandson say he'll pick you up?" Olivia asked.

"That rascal! He said he'll pick me up around..." Grandma Song said while shuffling through her handbag to find her phone.

"Grandma Song, if you don't mind we could drop you home—" Soo Min offered but was interrupted by someone.

"Grandma." A young man in a navy blue business suit called out before walking over to them.

"Ahh there he is." Grandma Song smiled and said as the two girls looked in the same direction.

At first, Soo Min could not clearly make out the man's face due to it being covered by the black umbrella.

The moment the umbrella slightly lifted, Soo Min widened her eyes in disbelief.

"He's your grandson?!" Soo Min shouted.

Grandma Song nodded.

The man narrowed his eyes and asked, "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Soo Min, meet my grandson Ryan Song and Ryan, this is Soo Min. Do you remember when I told about a girl who rescued me in the trapped caves during my camping trip in LA. That's her." Grandma Song introduced.

Sop Min rolled her eyes and murmured, "Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse."

"What did you say?" The man asked in a very threatening tone.

"Nothing that concerns you." Pointing towards the man, Soo Min retorted.

Noticing their deadly exchanges, Grandma Song was perplexed and asked, "D—Do the two of you know each other?"

"No!" The two shouted in unison.

Watching the great entertainment from the side, Olivia chuckled and said, "Actually Grandma Song, Soo Min was the one who saved Ryan from the car accident."

Soo Min glared at her friend and gritted her teeth, "YOU'RE NOT HELPING!"

Olivia shrugged her shoulders with an mischievous grin plastered to her face.

"Really? That's incredible! Then you two should definitely meet each other more often." Grandma Song exclaimed happily.

"I couldn't agree more!" Olivia grinned.

Olivia and Grandma Song smiled at the joyous moment, while the other two were simply having a stare down competition.

Having enough time wasted, Ryan was the first to break the eye contact. He quickly hovered the black umbrella over his grandma and said,

"Grandma, We should go or else you might catch a cold."

Grandma Song nodded before turning to Soo Min and said, "Dear, you must come for dinner sometime and bring your friend along too."

Soo Min smiled and said, "Of course! We will definitely come soon, Grandma."

Olivia and Soo Min walked through the automatic doors and placed their hand over their heads while running down the stairs, occasionally bumping into each other for fun.

Ryan watched Soo Min get drenched in the rain and muttered, "Just what kind of doctor plays in the rain? Hopeless!"

Grandma Song, on the other hand, just had the most brilliant idea pop up in her head and she could not wait to go home and discuss it with her daughter-in-law.
