…..
Outside the Private Ward.
"Ahahaha… gentlemen! You've clearly been standing here for so long, why don't you take a break and have a cup of coffee and some pastries in the cafeteria. Don't worry, it's on me. It's the least I can do for diligently looking after Dr. Park." Hwang Chang Min chuckled nervously.
There was no response by the bodyguards, as they remained unfazed.
"Too focused to talk I see… ahaha." He smiled nervously.
'Sunbae! Why did you put me into such a fix? How am I supposed to move these statues from here?' He mused.
Just then an old grandma was walking with her black folding walker. Not knowing what else to do at that point of time, the intern decided that there was only one option left and that was the one he sought to choose.
'Sorry grandma.' He inwardly apologized before placing his leg right before the grandma passed him, causing her to trip over her walker.
"Ahhh… my back." The grandma yelled lying on the floor.
"OH MY GOD! MISS ARE YOU ALRIGHT? WHAT ARE YOU TWO FOOLS LOOKING AT? COME AND HELP OUT THIS OLD LADY! DON'T YOU HAVE ANY DECENCY OR CARE FOR THE ELDERLY!" Chang Min shouted.
The two body guards looked at each other and sighed helplessly before rushing over to help the old lady.
"QUICK! We must take her to the third floor to check for any broken bones!" Hwang Chang Min instructed before leading the two body guards towards the elevator lobby.
The door of the private ward slowly opened and a woman's head popped out from the little opening. After making sure no one was there, Soo Min signaled Olivia to come out of the room.
"See? I told you it would work." Soo Min smiled triumphantly.
"Yeah. Yeah. Now let's go before they come back." Olivia said.
The two of them quickly rushed out of the hallway, making sure not to be seen by any of the hospital staff.
…..
Two hours later.
A black mercedes was driving on the busy streets amidst the heavy rain. Inside the car, a man in wearing a beige trench coat was looking at the stock market data through his tablet.
"Yoon." Ryan said.
"Yes boss?" Assistant Yoon, sitting in the front passenger seat, asked.
"Do you know any famous fried chicken restaurant nearby?" Ryan questioned.
"The BBQ Cafe is right around corner from here. They have the best fried chicken in town." Assistant Yoon said.
"Okay. Then, stop by there. I would like to buy some fried chicken." Ryan replied without taking his eyes off the screen.
"Yes. Boss." Assistant Yoon smiled, knowing who the fried chicken would be for and then proceeded to instruct the driver on their quick stop before going to the hospital.
…..
BBQ Cafe.
Ryan stepped out of the car accompanied by his assistant who shielded him from the rain with his black umbrella.
As soon as Ryan walked inside, he looked around the store before looking at the giant menu board in front of him.
His lips formed a smile when he read the words 'Golden Chicken' off the menu board and recollected Soo Min's words a couple days back.
FLASHBACK.
Private Ward.
"Uh what is this?" Soo Min pointed to the plate of salad in front of her.
"Your lunch." Ryan replied focused on his laptop.
"You are saying that this green grass is all I get to eat for lunch? What about my meat?" Soo Min asked.
Shutting his laptop, Ryan stood up and said, "Patients don't get to eat meat, and in your case definitely not. Doctors orders."
"I'm a doctor too! And I say that I can. So come on order me some golden chicken from the bbq cafe." Soo Min excitedly spoke.
"No. And what even is that? Chicken made out of gold?" Ryan asked.
"What? Ahahaha…" Soo Min bursted into laughter.
Ryan stood there dumbfounded.
"First of all, I can't believe you've never had golden chicken, especially from the bbq cafe, and second, golden chicken is basically crispy fried chicken. The crispiest chicken flavored with all the spices. YUM! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water." Soo Min relished in her daydream.
"Just you wait. Once I get out of here, I'll make sure you try some!" Soo Min determinedly said.
Present.
"I'll take one box of golden chicken please. Oh and make it extra spicy." Ryan informed.
"Yes sir. Anything else?" The cashier asked.
"No that'll be all." Ryan responded.
