Chapter 50: Protecting Him

When Ryan saw Hyeon Dae Hyun hurt Soo Min, his eyes turned bloodshot, and anger coursed through his veins.

As Dae Joon stepped forward swinging his wooden rod, Ryan blocked it with his hand, knocking the wooden rod off the lackey's hand and onto the floor.

Everything happened so fast that Dae Joon as well as everyone else in the room were left dumbfounded. Taking this opportunity, Ryan punched Dae Joon and kicked him a couple times, before he was knocked out.

Just as he was done, he saw Yuk In charge at him with a sharp blade. Aiming for his hand, Ryan was able to weaken Yuk In's grip around the weapon, and it too fell to the floor, before Yuk In also succumbed to Ryan's fierce and powerful fist.

"Useless fools! How long does it take for you to deal with one guy?" Hyeon Dae Hyun shouted before he decided to fight Ryan himself, leaving Soo Min unattended.

"I will deal with you myself!" Hyeon Dae Hyun announced as he walked towards Ryan, who seemed completely unfazed by his threats.

At first, Hyeon Dae Hyun utilized his fists to fight, but that clearly did not work out well for him, as Ryan's hand movements worked more efficiently than his.

Every punch he threw, Ryan was successfully able to dodge and block, as well as attacking wherever he saw an opening.

By this point, Hyeon Dae Hyun's face was badly bruised and with one final kick, he too was knocked down, falling to the floor.

Clapping the dust off his hands, Ryan quickly made his way towards Soo Min, to help her untie the ropes and set her free.

Soo Min, on the other hand, was stunned by Ryan's fighting skills. Not in her wildest dreams did she imagine him to be such a skilled fighter.

His life seemed so systematic and boring, so she never really took him to be so active and well versed in all areas, at least not in fighting.

As Ryan was untying the ropes that had bonded her on either side, Soo Min asked, "Where did you learn how to fight like that?"

"When I was in college." Ryan nonchalantly informed and quickly untied the final rope, before she was free.

"Let's go. I didn't use too much force so they'll probably wake up soon." Ryan said as the two of them made their way towards the exit.

'Didn't use too much force? What is he talking about... they're completely knocked out. Tsk. Once a narcissist always a narcissist.' Soo Min inwardly frowned.

Holding his throbbing head, Hyeon Dae Hyun blinked a couple times to fix his blurry vision, before he saw the two of them heading towards the exit.

"Enough is enough!" He firmly stated before he reached for his gun lying next to him, and slowly stood up supporting himself with the nearby wall.

Feeling something was odd, Soo Min turned around and widened her eyes when she Hyeon Dae Hyun standing up with his gun pointed towards Ryan.

"What's wrong?" Ryan turned his head to see why she had suddenly stopped and asked, as he watched her run towards him.

BANG

Upon hearing the gun shot, Ryan stood there wide eyed, with Soo Min's arm circling his back, and one hand behind his head, hugging him and the gun shot piercing through the upper left side of her back.

She had used her own body as a shield in order to protect him.

Ryan's body turned cold upon realizing what had just happened. His arms slowly wrapped around her back, and when his hand came in contact with blood, his mind went completely blank.

A tear rolled down Soo Min's face as she scrunched her face from the excruciating pain. The last ounce of strength left her body, as she started to fall backwards.

Ryan looked at her face, mouth agape, and when he saw her body droop down to the floor, he immediately kneeled down, supporting her fall.

His breathing became shallow and shaky, as he saw her face, although her eyes were still slightly open, the pain was clearly evident in them.

Ryan immediately glared at Hyeon Dae Hyun, the reason why Soo Min was in this state.

Frustrated that he missed the person he had aimed at, Hyeon Dae Hyun once again pointed his gun at Ryan as he manically laughed, "I was not expecting that to happen. But this time I won't miss!"

BANG! BANG!

Not one, but two shots were fired.
