Chapter 4: Sweet Rehab

Rehabilitation Center.

"Okay. Nice and Easy. One step at a time." Soo Min said while helping Ryan to slowly walk.

With the past few days spent in rehab, Ryan had improved a lot. From being able to stand up and to slowly start walking.

Just as he was about to take another step, he lost his balance and stumbled a bit.

"Watch out!" Soo Min shouted and immediately held both of his hands for extra support preventing him from falling.

Jerking her hands off, Ryan sat down on the chair and scowled. "This is useless! What's the point of this stupid rehab. I can't even walk on my own."

Soo Min scoffed and said "With that attitude, you definitely won't be able to walk again."

"You—"

Soo Min crossed her arms and questioned, "What? What about me?"

Ryan pursed his lips and did not say anything. He was frustrated. Not only did he lose the only possible witness for his father and brother's murder that night, but now he couldn't even walk.

Looking at his sulking expression, Soo Min sighed. She squatted down next to him and said,

"Hey, I know you feel hopeless right now, but I really need you to trust yourself just this one time, okay?"

Ryan nodded and got up again with Soo Min's help.

The next few days, Ryan continued to come for his regular rehab sessions and post-surgery health check ups. With a bit of determination and encouragement from his newfound frenemy, Soo Min, he was back in good shape.

Soo Min's Apartment.

Tossing her car keys to the side, Soo Min walked into the kitchen for a snack.

She opened her refrigerator and grabbed a chocolate bar before closing it back again and left the kitchen.

Soo Min slumped back into her comfy sofa and turned on the TV while feasting on her chocolate.

The past few days she had been practically living in the hospital. Not to mention that demon-like patient she encountered.

Never had she seen someone so stubborn but thankfully he recovered quite fast, and she never has to see his face again.

Soo Min grabbed the remote to change the channel, when her phone rang.

Placing the remote down, she went to the kitchen and unplugged her phone from the charger before answering the call.

"Hey Soo Min, are you busy tomorrow?" Olivia asked.

"No I am not. What's up?" Soo Min answered.

"Great! Let's go shopping then." Olivia smiled and said.

"But—"

Cutting her off, Olivia said, "No ifs no buts. You are coming with me and that's final."

"Okay, fine. So where's—"

"Meet me at the starlight mall at ten tomorrow, see ya there." Olivia immediately informed before hanging up the call and not giving a chance for Soo Min to speak.

"Hello? Hello—" Soo Min looked at her phone screen and frowned.

"And she hung up on me." Soo Min sighed and said.

The Next Morning.

At Starlight Mall.

Soo Min walked into the mall searching for her friend. She was wearing a polka dot jumpsuit with yellow pointed two ballet flats and had let her wavy hair down.

Her whole look was casual, but it let out a cool summer vibe and enhanced her beauty.

Walking around the mall for a bit, she found Olivia waiting outside their favorite boutique.

"Hey Olivia." Soo Min shouted before walking over to her.

"What took you so long?" Olivia asked.

"What do you mean I'm not—" Soo Min said taking out her phone but before she could check the time Olivia had already pulled into the shop.

"Come along now." Olivia hummed.

Inside the famous boutique.

The store was filled with exquisite and gorgeous clothes that were designed by renowned designers. From casual jeans to ball gowns, it had it all.

Every item in the shop was an expensive piece of artwork that only rich heiresses could afford.

"So..." Olivia said before picking out a dress from the rack.

"So what?" Soo Min asked and chose a few dresses to try on later.

"Are you going?" Olivia inquired and placed a dress on top her while checking herself out in the mirror and added. "Ooo this dress looks so good on me."

"Where? To the party? Yeah I kinda have to because my dad won't be able to make it and they are family friends so..."

Soo Min answered before entering the trial room to try the dresses she chose.
