Meeting At The Airport

Emily felt her life the subsequent days had been very boring, very monotonous. Being followed by bodyguards everywhere...Aargh!!! She couldn't even engage in a little mischief. Also, they took orders from her father and not her. She couldn't get them off her neck for even two minutes!

She sprawled on her bed, hopelessly bored. She felt this was going to turn into depression if it continued. Having nothing doing, she casually browsed through the internet.

Not long after, she dozed off. Suddenly, Emily jolted awake when the sound of her ringtone pierced through the tranquil atmosphere. Groggily, she picked up the phone.

"Hello...?"

"I'm back Emily!! Do you miss me?!"

Emily froze. That voice...she could never forget it her entire life. She immediately checked the caller ID. Surprise flashed through her eyes. It was actually her...Sonya, her bestie. They had fallen out three years ago due to a misunderstanding. She left, without a second backward look. But who would have thought...

"Sonya, is that actually you?" Emily sniffed as her eyes reddened. She was overwhelmed by conflicting emotions and her tears were on the verge of falling.

"Silly, of course it's me. Don't start crying already or else how would you react when you finally see me in person?"

Confirming it was Sonya, Emily barraged her with questions.

"Hey hey hey!!! Take it easy. If you're already like this then how I'm I supposed to tell you I'm in the country?"

"You're in the country?! And you didn't even bother to inform me until now?! Emily felt indignant.

"Chill girl! I only arrived in the country. I'm still at the airport now."

"You just arrived?!" Emily was stunned for a while then continued, "Wait for me over there! You dare not move an inch! I'll be there in a jiffy!" Emily jumped off the bed and got ready to leave the house.

Checking her watch, Naina felt her brother's plane had taken too long to land. She had been waiting for over thirty minutes. Or was it because she arrived earlier than expected because she was too excited?

At that moment, an announcement was made that the next flight was landing in two minutes. Naina fidgeted excitedly, hoping her brother was on that plane.

Curtis was speechless. This little sister of his...was she excited about his return because she missed him or missed having someone to tease?!

"Are you mocking me?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow. He gazed at his little sister lovingly.

"Of course not! Why would I do that?! I really, really, missed you!" Naina said coyly, immediately wearing an innocent expression. She did miss her brother. She had been separated from her knight for six years. He had gone abroad to train to become the next head of the Walter family, the most powerful family in Switzerland. Their influence spread far and wide across the continent and the world at large.
