chapter 18 3rd civilization

"apey" said Ajax as he saw the little girl look at him excitedly. He looked around the room and saw that it was fairly structured. the room seemed to be made from wood and had a modernized set up. He and the girl next to him was on a big bed. As Ajax got a closer look at the little girl, he noticed that she looked fairly young about 7 or 8 years old. Her skin was fair and smooth with blonde hair. He also noticed something strange about the girl that was different from the average humans, she had pointy ears.

"could it be? does this world have elves too?" thought Ajax as he looked at the characteristics of the little girl in front of him.

"apey" said the little girl as she got up and hugged Ajax.

"little girl, where are we" said Ajax. He did not want to shake off the little girl in case he upset her.

" home" said the girl as she continued to hold onto Ajax.

" home where, are we still in the forest?" replied Ajax.

"hmmhmm, grandpa brought you here to play with me" said the girl while letting go and getting off the bed.

" what's your name little girl, can you take me to your grandpa, I want to talk to him" asked Ajax. Her grandpa must be the the strong old man that knocked him out and took him to this place.

" My name is hailey. follow me grandpa is outside with apey's friends".

Hearing this, Ajax was relieved that the old man didn't kill or just leave his two friends alone in the forest. Ajax followed the little girl as she got up and walked out of the room. As Ajax walked out of the room, he saw the well furnished place. There were several pictures aligned on different positions of the wall showing images of forests and several different creatures. There were also several pictures of battles of creatures fighting against humanoid creatures. As Ajax and Hailey walked out of the building, Ajax immediately saw Tim and Jerry on the ground hunched over and breathing heavily with the old man standing not far from them. As Ajax saw this, he became extremely angry. Ajax ran towards the back of the old man and tried to kick the back of the old man's head, knocking him and possibly killing him giving him a huge amount of exp. But unfortunately, nothing happened as the kick landed but got no reaction from the old man.

Feeling the contact at the back of his head, the old man looked back at the creature that attacked him. "Oh it's you, seems like you woke up" said the old man in a casual manner.

" Who are you and where are we" said Ajax after calming down for second. Although Ajax was not expecting much from the attack on the old man, he wanted to at least get him back for knocking him out and bringing him here.

" hmm, you are in bisect village and we are along the border of the lower section of the Holy Sun Forest and at the edge of the middle section of the Holy Sun Forest" replied the old man.

'ding'

[congratulations on discovering third civilization]

[ recieved inventory into system]

Hearing this, Ajax got really excited as he now had an inventory and can now carry more stuff.

"why did you bring us here" said Ajax.

"hmm because you guys are too weak to go deeper into the forest. the beast that I had you guys faced was only a test to see if you three can qualify to enter deeper into the forest" replied the old man.

" this test almost killed us old man" said Ajax angrily as he held back from screaming at him.

"well... I would've stopped it anyways" replied the old man as he shrugged his shoulders.

" are you two alright, why are you guys on the floor like this" said Ajax towards Tim and Jerry as he noticed the intentions of the old man.

" He said that we need to train harder if we want to catch up to you" replied Tim.

" He is also teaching us how to fight better" said Jerry.

" do you also want to try" said the old man with a smile.

"sure why not " replied Ajax. He wanted to see how far he can go against this powerful person. All the fights he had been in so far was all life or death situations and he had to make quick and deadly actions or else he may be in trouble. Ajax hasn't had any chance to come up with different attack methods or fight against a strong intelligent being.

With that being said, Ajax leaped backwards gaining some distance. He stared at his opponent and tried to look for any openings he may have.

The Old man just stood there waiting for Ajax with his arms folded in front of him. Seeing no openings, Ajax ran towards the old man and as he reached him, he jumped and kicked towards the old man's face. But it did not even budge the old man as he just stood there with his hand out catching the the foot that was aiming towards his face. Just as Ajax was about to pull back, the old man gripped onto the foot and threw Ajax back towards where he was before. Feeling the disparity, Ajax knew he had to think of something else. Looking around, Ajax picked up a few rocks that was lying near him and tossed it at the old man with his full strength. Seeing the many rocks flying towards him, the old man just smiled and dodged the incoming rocks with just a few steps to the left and right. Ajax knew that this sparring session wouldn't be easy so Ajax continued to run around the old man while keeping a low position and picking up rocks and throwing it at the old man inching closer and closer to him. Right when Ajax was about to reach the old man, Ajax went on all fours and picked up as much dirt as he could and threw it at the old man's face. 'pow' an uppercut with all of Ajax's strength was landed on the old man's chin. As the punch landed, the old man took one step back. Although the old man saw everything, he found that the little beast before him was pretty strong and that his tactics were very clever.

'clap' 'clap' 'clap' " Good hahaha you can fight very well lets stop here shall we" said the old man.

"hmm ok" replied Ajax. Although the fight was pretty short, with the punch that he landed, he saw that he needed to train a little bit more to gain more strength if he wants to go deeper into the forest.

"Are you guys alright" said Ajax looking towards Jerry and Tim.

" Yes, he didn't do much to us after bringing us here" replied Tim.

While the two was watching the fight, they saw how Ajax made his move in the beginning and the change in methods of attacking after he noticed the strength of the old man. Distracting while getting closer and closer, not letting up one moment which led to successfully landing a blow on the old man. Although the two knew that Ajax was strong and very smart, fighting against an overwhelming opponent and managing to land a blow on him, this started to make them admire Ajax to a very high degree.

" Ok since, you have settled down now, I'll tell you more about this village. First my name is Damion Cage, I'm a dwarf with a pure bloodline. You can call me Old Man Cage or Old Cage. Dwarves with pure bloodline are basically like an average human but we are born with extreme innate physical strength. Some with mix bloodline will appear to be shorter than the average human but still possess some innate physical strength. This village that you are in is home to dwarves and elves as you can see by looking at Mary there, she is an elf. They appear to be better looking than the average humans and their lifespans are slightly longer. This village is like a checkpoint for people who wish to grow stronger and advance further into the forest, to do this, they must be approved by me. There is an archive not far from here, from where you can learn more about the forest and its ancient legends. Dwarves are famous for their well mad weapons and armor so you can also find a shop here and buy some items or request something to be made." said Old Cage.

"hmm okay, from what you have seen so far, how do you judge us based on our strengths" said Ajax.

"Hmm if you guys enter the middle section of the forest now, all three of you will die within days. The middle section is a bit more different than the lower section of the forest. First, they are a lot stronger and smarter than the most monsters that you have faced so far. Second, the area is a lot larger and the creatures are more territorial and will stop at nothing till you or they die. Lastly, there are a lot of things which you must learn in order to know about the environment there" said Old Cage.

" Okay then, we'll come back once we get stronger, do you have many recommendations to where we can find a suitable place to train" said Ajax after thinking of what to do.

" hmmm one part if the inheritance of the forest and then you should qualify for the required strength to enter the middle section of the forest" said Old Cage after thinking about it a little.

" Inheritance? can just anyone find the inheritance" replied Ajax. Ajax had thought that it was only allowed for him to have due to the notification of the system and had thought that the inheritance was part of a reward given by it and not a real thing.

" Yes, but it is different for every race or species, after all, most of the species' ancestors was of high intelligence due to the world tree that gave life to us" replied Old Cage with a smile.

"Hmm I see, then, after looking around the place, we will leave to go train". said Ajax.

" Go, have Mary show the three of you around". replied Old Cage nodding his head.
