Chapter 57: Helemoira

There was a brief moment of remorse after I left Pelleas. I knew that I had terrified him, but I couldn't let that distract me from what now pulled my focus. It was as if she called to me, a voice in the back of my head.

Redes' call was like a lover's embrace as it swarmed my senses , promising all manner of sweet things.

I shook my head, loosening the grip of her spell. Of course the Goddess of Pleasure would have such a nasty power. I wondered how she would like my new powers.

"I hear you," I said softly in response as I wandered through the fog, dodging stray blades and mauls as they sliced their way through the fog.

"Come here, little priestess," the sweet song of her voice sang to me.

I bit my tongue to swallow my venom and did my best to answer as if I were under her spell. "Where are you?"

"Over here," she sang to me. I felt her spell curl around me but it could not penetrate.
