Chapter 38: Geien

"You want us to come back to the Night Realm with you?"

"No," I looked at Pelleas who nodded, already understanding. "Just you and Lensa."

She took a step back, out from under my hands, and I let her go. "But not Pelleas."

"No," I said again.

"I can't leave my troops, Hele. They need me, need training." He placed a hand on her shoulder and kissed the crown of her head. "You and Lensa will be safe with Geien."

"I know, I just worry." She gave him a half smirk.

He smiled down at her before looking at me, the fanged smile still pulled across his face. "You're taking them to train them with their new powers I assume?"

I nodded in affirmation. "To be honest, I had no intention of giving you each so much of my power. I was desperate when I saw the situation and did the only thing I could think of. I can't say I am displeased to see that the transfer of power seems to be a permanent one."

"You think it's something you could do again?" Pelleas asked me with a serious tone.
