Chapter 1

——————————

At first glance, Yua may look like a normal extra side character that only receives a second of screen time before disappearing. She had the common blonde brown hair and she never really wore anything eye catching.

But of course, if she wasn't special there wouldn't be a story written to narrate her life. Well you see, though Yua may appear like a normal extra in the Narutoverse, she was a person who remembered her past life's memories. She used to live in a world where her current world is an anime that sprouted from the head of a Japanese man named Kishimoto.

* * *

"Oh sh*t," a 2 year old Yua spoke after she was brought to visit the village.

It was also the day, the memories of her past life returned and she grew older(mentally).

She was a Naruto fanfiction writer who began to write fanfictions because she was fed up from all the terrible fanfictions on the internet. About all her fanfictions always starts with rebirth, reincarnation and isekai. But having experiencing it herself was different, in a good way of course. She didn't have a splitting headache nor did she have a traumatic accident that jolted her old memories, she just abruptly remembered her past life.

Her mother in this world is a thin but strong woman with neck-length light brown hair and obsidian eyes while her father is a man with light blonde hair who had facial hairs decorating his feature. Like her mother, Yua inherited her obsidian eyes and her hair was a mix of the both her parents, flaxen, looking alot like the sand of Sunagakure.

Yua's mother was a medic-nin from the Hōki clan(family), which is a matrilineal shinobi clan(family). Her father was civilian born stay-at-home husband.

Her mother gasped when she heard her daughter cursed. She suspected that her daughter must've learnt it from the shinobis or other adults. She noted to interview each of her babysitters and her neighbours.

"You can't say that. That's rude," she scolded.

Yua, still in a state of shock, stared dumbly at her mother. Her head titled sideways and her eyes looking confused as drool escaped from her mouth.

Her mother sighed.

"Ok.... So I'm in the Narutoverse. I can speak japanese and everything looks like an anime. I live in Suna and I'm now a toddler. At least I'm not in Kirigakure born with a Kekkei Genkai? That would've been worse." Yua thought as she chewed her thumb.

A fart emitted from her diaper and the smelly stench diffused across the small room.

"Oops, well thank Gods I had diapers on." She giggled.

There's a reason why people don't remember their past life. To avoid the pain, the people and every unfinished business they had before their inevitable death.

But in Yua's opinion she thought, it was because the multiverse should remain separated from each other to prevent the laws of each universe from overlapping.

* * *

Life as a toddler is pretty self-explanatory. Everyday, it was a cycle of eat, sleep, pee, poo and play. A repetitive and an extremely boring cycle that Yūa would bemoan.

There were things she wants to try at this isekai okay? Like doing some impressive jutsu and eating at ichiraku ramen but unfortunately, since she was still a toddler and (what's worse) she was born in Suna, her dreams would happen in several years time.

When she learnt how to control her muscle better, she became a sadistic spawn of the devil. The genin assigned to take care of her while her father was out would often leave with unshed tears and drool on their hair. Yua would purposely run closer to dangerous objects and she would always make sure to have her drool touch the genins.

Why she would do such horrible  things a toddler could do?

Well, it's because she needs to remove stress. Food in Suna was terrible, for a person who lived in a modern period where food was seasoned and cooked in more than a hundred ways. The food she ate in Suna was bland, it tasted like pepper and salt water added into potato soup. There were times where she slightly enjoyed the food, an example being roasted lizards. It tasted savoury and definitely packs a punch.

For a person who had only lived in Suna, the food served in the Hōki family was heavenly. Since the economy in Suna was terrible and so was the military force, nutritious fresh food was hard to come by. They had to rely on the desert wildlife for food.

Yua really missed her oreos, burgers and cola. Too bad she wasn't reincarnated in the Boruto timeline. She absolutely longed for the smell of brown sugar boba milk tea and sadly, she was never going to get it.

The Hōki clan (family) had a tradition where the women of the clan(family) doesn't show their faces without make-up unless to the person they're going to marry. Thus from a young age of 3, Yua was taught to apply make-up.

"C'mon Yua, you have to use make-up before you go out," said Yua's mother.

Yua shouted a loud, "No" and struggled to break free from her mother.

"It's a tradition passed down from our family," Her mother reasoned.

"Traditions are just peer pressure from the dead," She jabbered, "What if the make-up contains lead? I'll get lead poisoning. And make-up is not nice, uncomfortable. It's just going to melt under Suna's weather."

Yua's parents wondered where they went wrong in raising their child. Was it the genin ninja they hired to look after her or was their child just born really weird.

Looking at her parents disappointed face, guilt tugged on her heart and she pondered before compromising with her parents.

"I'll dress up as a guy, so no one will know I'm a girl and I won't need to wear make-up. "

Her parents thought about it and agreed. They thought that she would eventually grow up from this phase, so they agreed.

As Yua grew older, she continued to surprise her mother. Some days, she would accidentally speak clearly in a very distinguished manner and talk about topics beyond kids her age would know. Other times, she seems to show actions like children her age. And in since cases, also show an extreme case of immaturity (childishness).

One time, she talked about poisons and the effective ways of killing a shinobis which greatly surprised her mother.

"Mother, theoretically speaking.... Is it possible to grow an immunity to poisons by taking a small dosis of poison on a daily basis?" Yua asked as she struggled to swallow the liquid down. Because she was mentally rejecting her food, her body also began to reject the sorry excuse for a  food, she would forcefully swallow it to have her esophagus contract and bring it up to her throat.

She would mentally curse at herself, "Esophagus, you are supposed to do the paristalsis motion to push the food down. Not up. Damned watery goey stuff, you could've at least just taste like plain potato or salt water. Instead, you had to taste weird."

After regaining her composure Yua's mother (Whom Yua finally knew the name of), Hina, explained that it was possible and it was actually practiced on shinobis who wanted to develop immunities to poison. She explained other ways to grow an immunity to poison, but Yua had already lost interest in the topic.

A/n: I got the definition of tradition from instragram. No regrets.

If you wonder whether the Hōki clan(family) exist or not. I think they were mentioned in  Gaara Hiden, so yes they exist. Just not alot of details were known.

It's not classified as clans because Suna doesn't really have those big ol' clans like Hyuga and Uchiha. Suna consist of small families who pass down the technique and family secret. Thats why I put family and open bracket clan close bracket. In other words, it's a family but a clan at the same time.

They work as medic-nins and do infiltrations. It's a matrilineal shinobi family and the women of the clan don't show their faces without make up unless to the person they're gonna marry.

I wrote this when I was 12 or 14, so if there were any weird grammar or conversation then I'm sorry *wheeze-*
