A paranormal visit

"Oh my, oh my~ Did your ancestors not tell you to not remain this deep within the forest so late at night? Who would've thought that two lovely looking snacks would willingly ready themselves for me… And here I was stressing about how to revitalize myself after my long slumber~"

Out of nowhere, a gray skin toned lady appeared a couple ten meters away from Mark and Artemis. Her sudden appearance made it seem as if she had simply spawned from the darkness. Her arrival was mysterious, and sort of, creepy…

"Who are you, and what nonsense are you spouting?!" Artemis quickly took a defensive stance, since the unknown woman simply seemed too suspicious. The way she appeared so suddenly, and the way she spoke… She was way too suspicious, and Artemis's danger senses were on high alert because of that.

"Do not question me, child. Who I am is not of your concern. You'll soon be my meal, anyway…" Was the unknown woman's response to Artemis's question. The way she spoke, established the fact that she saw herself as someone of the great hierarchy. Her arrogance, it was beyond the arrogance that a common person would dare to show. This proves that she is either of royalty, or that she has some great power hidden among her or perhaps within her…

*Bam*

Since the woman dared to speak so arrogantly, Artemis didn't hesitate to shoot her gun with the intent to show the woman her place. Obviously, Artemis didn't shoot to kill her, because she considered the possibility of the woman actually being someone that's just crazy. For sure, Artemis might be a killer, but she isn't a psychopath who would kill anyone just because they had pissed her off. In fact, Artemis is trying to leave such a character of hers behind, and it is only because of Mark that she decided to show a few traits of her past personality.

Strangely, things did not go as Artemis had expected. The heavy bullet that was supposed to tear right through the woman's shoulder did not do its job, and penetrated a tree behind her instead. Artemis is definitely not a bad shot. The bullet didn't hit because Artemis's aim was off, but because the woman was able to phase right through it.

"Who are you trying to shoot with that puny weapon? I was never there to begin with. Hehe~" The unknown woman was already behind Artemis. Perhaps, she had been there behind her, the entire time…

Upon hearing the whispers of the woman, Artemis instinctively pushed the woman away from her before backing away a few meters. As an assassin, she knew that she had to create some distance between her enemies, and that her enemies are not supposed to be right behind her back.

'But how did she even get there?' Artemis couldn't help but wonder. The woman had left her too curious, and too cautious, because she realized that she had no way of preventing that woman from getting behind her, and worse, she didn't even see her coming.

'Wait… The classified rank assassin which I was never able to achieve. Is it? It can't be… She's not human…'

"Mark! Run! If you can, leave this place as soon as possible, and tell everyone about the danger that's coming!! They'll know!!"

The moment Artemis had realized the abnormality of the unknown woman, she yelled for Mark to run and evacuate everyone, and didn't even bother to give him an explanation. Mark, he was too incompetent to handle a threat that Artemis would most likely have a difficult time handling. He'd be nothing but heavy weight within Artemis's proximity. Hence why, Artemis was quick to send him away.

'If I'm going to die, I am not going to let another die beside me. Especially when this inhuman being might grow stronger from killing…' Artemis spoke inside her mind, as she continued to stare at the figure of the evil looking woman. Artemis didn't dare to look away, ever since the woman had suddenly appeared behind her…

"Hush, little child. You're being too loud." The woman appeared in front of Artemis, which caught Artemis off guard again. No matter how focused she was, she just couldn't trace the woman's steps…

"Calm down will you. And please, obey my command, as you should…" The woman continued to say, and this time, while saying so, her red irises were glowing with a bright crimson color.

"Dra-cu…" Artemis tried to mutter, but before she could even finish her word, her body was left completely stunned.

"Now…" The woman spoke again after she had captured Artemis's mind. This time, her attention was focused at the departing figure of Mark…

"Oh! Two souls… Interesting. He would be a perfect vampire for my army~" Her words were filled with desire, when she saw the two souls that are hiding in Mark's body.

While the woman was focused at the figure of Mark, something happened which she did not expect. Right when she was about to go after Mark, that's when a pained feeling suddenly hit her head. The woman felt as if something toxic and strong had hit her head, and while she was feeling super dizzy, a hand made its move to wrap itself around her neck.

The hand was Artemis's. She had broken through the mind-control of the woman, and was able to gain the advantage thanks to that. Artemis finally had the opportunity to be capable of dealing against the woman, now that the woman's mind was left stunned by her.

"It's time for me to put you in your place, and kill you, who's a threat to the town." Artemis uttered with a lot of hate apparent in the tone of her voice. She was furious. Angry because of the things the woman was daring to do to the people, and furious because of the cruel desires that the woman showed for her disciple.

*Bam*

The tip of a revolver found itself at the bottom of the woman's chin, who was shot through the head right after…
