The rest of the lesson proceeded with me not hearing a single thing that came from the teacher's mouth. I was far too preoccupied with staring at Adam the entire time. Ever since he sat next to me I've been antsy and on edge. I couldn't keep my mind at bay.
Could you blame me though? I mean I was sitting next to the school's bad boy, Adam aka my future husband! Okay, he didn't know that yet but it was a certain thing. In due time he'll learn his deep, anguish of heart-wrenching love for me.
Soon, soon.
Wait, for him to realize his undying love for me those feelings must be awakened from their deep slumber, and for that to happen I have to ignite the passion within. In other words, I have to talk to him. Like, have a full-on conversation with him.
Then exchange contacts, get closer, realize we both love one another and cannot live life without the other, and then get married, get a beautiful house, and have four-no five kids.
Yes!
Now then, what do I say? Should I just tap him on the shoulder and be like; "Hey" or should I just keep it casual with a simple nod?
But that'll be weird, wouldn't it? How 'bout I ask for a pencil? People usually do that as a conversation starter in movies and since movies are based on real-life, only slightly edited, it also applies to this very situation.
Alright, I got it! All I have to do is tap him on the shoulder, casual hair flip with a cute smile and end it off with a lean on the hand facing him. Yeah, then I'll just casually bring up some sort of interest of his. Wait what is he even interested in?
Well, whatever it doesn't matter at the moment. I'll have to track- I mean ask around what his hobbies are. Not like track him like a dog or some creepy stalker.
Hehehe.
Wait, where was I? Oh yeah, conversation starters. Right, okay I'm ready. Keep it casual, relax and smile.
Releasing a huge breath of air I turned to him, ready with a big smile on and hair prepared for a flipping.
"Hey, Ada-"
Before I could finish my sentence I realized two very important things. First, the shoulder I tapped on was much skinnier than the muscly broad ones Adam had. Second, the guy sitting next to me was slightly shorter than him and instead of Adam's black, messy hair, this guy had golden locks.
Where'd my Adam go?
"Huh?"
My eyes widened in shock and I nearly lost all sense of sanity.
"Who're you?"
I asked astonished at the sudden appearance of the stranger. Quite rudely might I add.
"Uhm...I'm Cody. Who're you?"
"....Clover"
Without thinking I held my hand up in a ready-to-shake gesture. Cody looked at it in confusion but soon took it in his own and gave a firm handshake. We smiled at each other and let go of the other after a while of awkward shaking.
Wait, why was I greeting a total stranger like this? I was supposed to be looking for Adam!
"U-Uhm, excuse me but the guy who was sitting here, did you see him?"
I awkwardly asked scratching the back of my head. He looked at me confused and shook his head
"Uhm, no not really"
"O-okay."
Giving him a crooked smile I looked to the front to try and concentrate.
"Sorry but, are you new?"
"Huh?"
What was this guy asking? I mean, of course, I was new some time ago but not anymore!
"Well, it's just that it's the first time I see you."
I'm pretty sure I introduced myself to the class on the first day I came here.
But now that he mentioned it, his face was totally new to me. I'm highly aware that I don't know most of my classmates' names but I did know their faces at the least.
Turning away from him I looked at the rest of the students seated in their chairs and none of them looked familiar to me. My eyes widened in shock as I turned to the stranger sitting next to me and frantically asked
"Is this the first or second lesson?"
The guy seemed a bit confused at first but answered me anyway
"It's the second. Why?"
My eyes widened into saucers and I scrambled to clear my desk.
I can't believe I didn't hear the bell go off!
Was I so invested in daydreaming of a loving relationship with Adam that I got rid of all my other senses just to concentrate on him?!
Carelessly throwing my books and pencil case into my bag, I slung it over one shoulder and darted out the door just as the teacher was entering.
"Hey, what are you-"
Already off in the hallways, I gave her little to no time to finish her sentence. In my haste, I forgot to look ahead and ended up bumping into someone. Flat on the cold ground I yelped at the pain in my nose.
"Ow!"
Ugh, that really hurt. Looking over to who it was I bumped into my eyes widened into saucers. The girl groaned in pain as she rubbed her forehead. It was only after she looked up at me did her look of irritation changed to shock.
"You!"
The redhead exclaimed with a finger pointed in my direction. Without thinking I jumped up from the cold floor as if it were on fire, and ran away.
"H-hey!"
Running through the hallways I passed by classes in session while a set of footsteps followed behind.
Taking a chance to gaze back thinking perhaps I was just paranoid however I was not as the princess Ariel beauty was indeed running after me. She looked fierce and pissed. I mean really pissed.
Shit shit shit, she's gonna kill me!
"Hey stop running! I swear I'm not gonna do anything!"
Yeah right!
"Then stop chasing after me!"
"Stop running and I'll stop!"
"You crazy?!"
"No, but you sure damn are!"
Okay, this wasn't getting us anywhere. But it doesn't mean I'm gonna stop at all for this lion head to catch me!
"You think I-"
Because I again ignored where it was that I was looking, I bumped into another body. This time I found myself falling on top of the person I bumped into. Looking up to apologize, all colour drained from my face as I saw the face of none other than the "changing room" girl.
My eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets and my jaw almost dropped to the floor. She sat there in silence astonished at the chance of meeting me once again.
"Hey, hold her down!"
Looking back to the still-screaming crazy redhead I scrambled off the girl and got up before she could act. It was only when I began running again that she blinked away her daze and got up to chase after me as well.
"W-wait!"
Great, now she was following me too!
Could this get any worse?!
Rounding yet another corner, I ran through the long hallway. In the distance, a student was coming out of a classroom.
And just like father time had timed it she looked over at me where our eyes met and I just right out gave up on my luck right there and then.
Kids, give up on your hopes and dreams. There is no such thing as dreams coming true in this world.
They're all lies!
And why am I giving up on all that is good in this world you ask? Simple 'cause the student that I made eye contact with was none other than "locker girl".
"Grab her, don't let her get away!"
Screamed the black-haired girl. The one who was leaving the classroom looked behind me to the girl yelling. She looked back at me and her face suddenly turned serious. She stood in a ready-to-tackle stance and that's when I knew shit was real.
Changing my direction of motion in a short time, I nearly fell going a different way. The brunette's eyes widened in realization as I changed course and she joined forces with the other two running after me.
Ah, how wonderful!
It's a fun game of tag where I'm the only one being chased and if I get caught...who knows what'll happen to me?
I really don't wanna find out though.
"Stop!!"
"Get back here!"
"You!"
They all screamed out at the same time. That only made me panic even further, not to mention the fact that I was already running on adrenaline. Now take that and pump it up with fear and shock and you got yourself a real-life "The Flash"!
"Leave...me...alone!"
I screamed out in between breaths
"No!"
They yelled back in unison. Yeah, I didn't think that'd work but it was worth a try, right?
I now found myself on the school football field. Somehow we had ended up outside the building and out into the open. This was both an advantage and disadvantage as they could corner me at any point now, but I had much more space to run on so...
"Haaa!"
The black-haired girl yelled tackling me to the ground. I yelped in fright as I felt my body collide with the grassy field.
"Uck!"
She sat on my back caging me in between her legs. Grabbing both my arms she held them to my back in a stronghold.
"Got....you!"
She huffed out tired and out of breath.
"Good, you caught her."
The red-haired commented as she leaned on her knees for a breather.
"Yeah, good...good job"
Wheezed out the other completely out of breath. She collapsed to the ground next to the crazy ninja girl sitting on top of me.
"Oh my gosh, I'm dying!"
"Seriously what's up with this crazy girl?"
We all sat in silence while taking deep breaths of air. The heavens knew we all needed it!
All that running, chasing, and yelling did nothing good for my heart. It seriously feels like I'm having a stroke right at this moment!
"Alright, I think I'm good. You?"
"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm just gonna lay here for a while."
The gothy brunette did exactly that as she placed her arms over her eyes, still heavily breathing though.
And here I thought I needed to workout, girl you need it more than me and I'm lazy as fu-
"Up to no good again I presume?"
The one sitting on my back said with annoyance in her voice.
"Wait, you guys know this crazy coup?"
Hey, I'm not crazy! I'm eccentric. Thank you very much!
"Kinda, she's the crazy girl who set the old Chem lab in disarray and basically held me hostage!"
"No way, she's the psycho chick who broke Adam's locker like a can of beans and then ran, making me her accomplice!"
"Wait, wait, wait. She's the girl who trashed the Chem lab and broke open someone's locker?"
The two standing beside us looked at each other and then back to the one questioning them.
"Yeah"
"Yeahp."
A heavy sigh was released from my captor and her hold on my arms tightened.
Bitch, you using me as a stool and now you wanna break my arms off?! I swear if my face wasn't against the grass right now, I'd smack the hell outta you!
"Wow, this girl's really insane. I can't believe this."
"What do you mean?"
Brunette asked, "bitch sitting on me".
"She's the girl who got her fat ass stuck in the boy's locker room."
"She's the girl who caused all three of us trouble?!"
Bitch and Ariel nodded.
Since I don't know her name, Ariel seemed like a good fit. Went well with how red her hair was.
"Alright, talk. What the hell is up with you, huh?"
Crazy bitch asked. I'm just gonna keep adding adjectives to their nicknames until I know their real names.
"How bout you get your fat ass off of me and I'll speak, hmm?"
I asked in a sarcastic yet sweet voice.
".....Fine, but if you run again I will tackle then shackle you to a tree."
"Yes ma'am!"
I mock saluted...well tried to since my hands were still firmly held behind me.
She then slowly got up off me, and at the same time the lazy brunette got up. They all braced themselves, prepared in case I ran off again But I was too tired for that bull so instead, I got up off the floor, dusted myself off then sat down in a criss-cross position.
"So...what're your names?"
They all gave me a questioning gaze, looked at each other then back at me. I tilted my head in wait. I mean, if I'm gonna have a conversation with them it's only good manners to introduce each other. Unless they don't mind the wonderful names I came up with.
"Well?"
