A Fragile Reunion

Brittany was such a lucky girl at 18 years old, she had loving parents, and a cute best friend she was harbouring feelings for when something happened, she got acquainted with Lucas the son of her mother’s employer. Naive, they became friends and had unprotected sex and Brittany had to have an abortion since Lucas's father and family members threatened to harm her if she proceeded with the pregnancy. This left Lucas, who is now 30, to join the Marines after obtaining a law degree as well as running away from a dominating father. In the military, he suffers a traumatic event which leaves him with PTSD, then has to go back to his father’s business where he is pressured to marry and produce an heir. Later on, Brittany starts working on the Interior design of Lucas’s family mansion and they again meet each other. Lucas does not remember being with Brittany, but he later still feels the suffering caused by his family to her. Brittany and Lucas have a fake marriage to have control of the family business, but at the same time, Lucas fights with his PTSD and Brittany is devastated by the loss of her mother and betrayal by her family. They have to unmask Lucas’s cunning stepmother and demanding father to regain the title they both deserve and rediscover the bond they lost long ago.

Nerd in the Mantion

…actually, my mother should have known that no one would be excited to just read in a mansion. There were a lot of things to do! Two pools were in the house, one was even a hot pool. If swimming was not your thing, they had a movie room with a subscribed Netflix subscription.

No to swimming and movies? There was a whole room to play indoor games, ranging from billiards to chess. Lucas even had an inbuilt gym. In lieu of those interesting activities, my mother expected me to stick to the monochromatic cosy living room.

Let's even say that I was such a nerd, I would have loved to read in the outdoor reading area. Just spread myself on one of the comfortable chairs while perusing a book from the floor-to-ceiling library.

The library was one of the useless spaces in the house. Nobody uses it! Some of the books were the latest edition. Why bother to furnish a library that you don't use?
